00:00To usap ang negosyo naman tayo, matanong ko lang,
00:02mayroon ba kayong family hobby na matagal yun ang ginagawa?
00:05Kung oo, posibleng business opportunity na yan.
00:07Alamin natin kung paano naging isang successful men's formal wear company
00:11ang simpleng pananahe ng pamilya.
00:14Dito lang sa Negosyo Tayo.
00:22We were founded in 1991.
00:24So, 35 years ago, from two taylors in Quezon City
00:30to now employing over 500 people,
00:34operating over 100 stores all over the Philippines.
00:38So, we are one of the leading, if not the leading brand,
00:41for men's formal and office wear.
00:45So, our passion particularly is barong
00:48because it's our heritage apparel.
00:51And for 35 years, we've never grown tired of innovating the barong.
00:57So, we're very happy to be still around after 35 years.
01:02After graduating from Diliman, from UP Diliman,
01:06with economics degree,
01:08I had to face the fact that
01:11our family's tailoring business rubbed off on Mino.
01:14So, nakita ko, na-expose ako sa pag-run ng tailor shop.
01:20And what I did was make it mainstream,
01:25you know, ready to wear.
01:26Kasi at that time,
01:27ay pakunti na ng pakunti yung mga sastre natin eh,
01:30sa Pilipinas.
01:32But there's a demand for customized fitting off the rack.
01:37When I formally incorporated the company,
01:40it was like four months before I got married.
01:44And so, my wife and I had this as our first baby.
01:48So, imagine getting married and then working together in the same company.
01:55I don't think every couple can do that.
01:57I think our secret, there's no shortcut about,
02:00there's no running around it.
02:03It's really starting from the heart.
02:04Gusto namin damitan ng Pilipinas.
02:07At our passion for the barong,
02:09innovating the barong,
02:11making it relevant to changing tastes of generations,
02:16has remained for over three decades.
02:19There were many challenges.
02:20Then, the raw material side,
02:22because our textile industry is not developed,
02:25no matter how nationalistic I've been,
02:29kung wala namang raw mats na locally produced,
02:33we just had to swallow our pride
02:36and import textiles and other raw materials from abroad.
02:39And then, of course, the loss of manpower,
02:43because a lot of tailors had gone abroad,
02:4670s, 80s.
02:48Wala namang naiwan dito para magturo.
02:51Those were the bigger challenges.
02:52For those who are aspiring to be successful entrepreneurs,
02:56you know, alam nyo,
02:57hindi porki may pera kayo na kapital,
02:59ay magiging matagumpay ka.
03:02On the other hand,
03:04hindi porki't wala kang pera,
03:05ay hindi kang magiging matagumpay.
03:07Sapagkat ang number one puhunan talaga
03:09ay yung pagkatao mo.
03:11Yung character mo,
03:12yung personality traits mo.
03:15Ano ka ba?
03:16Kahit iyakin ka,
03:17pero tatayo ka pa ba kapag nadapa ka?
03:19Kapag mahirap yung grind,
03:22gigising ka pa ba?
03:24Kapag maraming hamon sa startup mo,
03:29kung kaya mo harapin yun,
03:32kaya mo pa rin magtrabaho,
03:33then it's just a matter of time,
03:36liliwanag din ang araw,
03:38at magiging matagumpay ka.
03:41Tara!
03:43Negosyo tayo!
03:49Negosyo tayo!
