00:00Mason is always looking at the paper for us.
00:02Yeah, come here.
00:04Good boy.
00:05So the dodo reached out to learn more about how we keep this little tradition going.
00:09Go get it.
00:11For as long as I can remember, even when he could see...
00:14Good boy.
00:15He'd always wake up early for breakfast.
00:18Get the paper.
00:20Come here.
00:21He gets so happy and so proud.
00:24Nailed it.
00:25This morning routine with the newspaper.
00:27Good boy.
00:28How did that start?
00:29When he could see and he was getting the paper almost every day.
00:33Go get the paper.
00:35Good boy, Mason.
00:38Yeah, come here.
00:40It's usually thrown around the same spot,
00:42which made it easier to figure out where it was when he lost his vision.
00:48Yeah, come here.
00:50Can you talk about his vision issues and how he felt after getting the surgery?
00:55We started noticing and just seemed a little bit more unsure about his steps.
01:00He started bumping into things.
01:03He was rapidly losing his vision.
01:07Good boy, Mason.
01:09The vets told us that he had very painful glaucoma and that we'd need to remove his eyes.
01:15Seeing him light up again after the surgery, we knew we did the right thing.
01:20We weren't sure how he would feel getting his news for the day.
01:24But he still wanted to fetch the paper for us.
01:27He was so sweet.
01:28Such an amazing member of the family.
01:30I was not getting the mail from my parents when I was a kid.
01:33When we saw that he could do it, it was really reassuring.
01:36And we got very proud of him every time we see him do things like that.
01:40This way.
01:41What do you love most about Mason?
01:43He's a huge sweetheart.
01:45We've had him for his whole life.
01:49He may be 12, but he acts like a little toddler,
01:53despite everything he's had to go through.
01:56Good boy!
01:57He's still somehow just the sweetest fuck you'll ever meet.
02:03Good boy, Mason, yeah!
