00:46i actually want to start with this brown steelers game we've been emory emory goes trick-or-treating
00:51and then he just you go up to the front door and instead of people thinking it's you know for
00:55halloween yeah you're just like oh you're respecting my 10 win prediction too or you just
01:00say i predicted the browns to start three and one and win the game and and win 10 games where's
01:06my
01:06candy and they're like you just have to say trick-or-treat yeah doesn't have to be this deep
01:10all right emory uh brown steelers we feel like it's a pretty big game here uh where where are we
01:17thinking about the chances of the browns getting this dub it is a very big game and i feel like
01:22the way
01:22they played the first game sort of gives the football team much you know confidence coming
01:27into this matchup obviously winning is contagious and success leaves clues so they can look back at
01:33hey what worked against the steelers then and what can we do now to kind of throw different wrinkles in
01:38there i think the difference in this matchup is hopefully building off last week and what we saw
01:43from the run game 180 yards on the ground rushing if they can run the football this week like they
01:49did
01:50last week we know what the defense will be able to do we know what the passing game can benefit
01:56from
01:56a balanced offensive attack so i think that's the pathway forward for the browns finding a way
02:01to maintain that balance and not having to rely on the fourth quarter all right emory tell me what
02:07you've seen from deshaun watson that either has you encouraged or has you thinking we need to get
02:11more out of deshaun in order to keep this this fun uh five and one start or five and two
02:16start going
02:17you know it's been up and down and i thought his best two games were and i and i hate
02:23to say it
02:23this way but all right the best game was the tennessee titan game because it was a complete game
02:28all four quarters of him doing exactly what he has done in the fourth quarter so that was the best
02:33complete game but you can take the first half of the sealers game and the second half of the bucks
02:38game then there's your second game of complete game that deshaun watson has played so the point is you
02:44want to see him be consistent i thought last week was the most consistent he's played over the course
02:48of four quarters um he's just let he's starting to let it rip and i thought we saw that in
02:53the um
02:54the first sealers game in the first half where he just let it rip deep down the field and then
02:59in the
02:59second half he had those inconsistencies that we've seen uh all throughout the season so it's been up and
03:05down but the most important part is that when you need him to make a play when you need him
03:10to lock in
03:11he has done exactly that and he's been excellent in that regard so i'd say right now his performance
03:16is b minus c plus but more so on the b minus side because he has he has come through
03:22in the clutch
03:23time and time again emory when it comes to this game in terms of trying to attack that stealer's
03:28defense what's more important is it is it the passing game or is it continuing what you saw in
03:35that tennessee game from quinchon judkins what was clearly his best game of the season i think
03:41is somewhere in the middle what i like about what we saw last week harold fan had joined the party
03:46and so when you think about harold fan moving forward okay we know you can attack um the
03:53stealer's secondary that's the the vulnerability of their defense outside on the perimeter but now
03:58if you give them something to worry about over the middle of the field you can then have more
04:02success we saw harold fan and have a touchdown last year on you know against seal before he left with
04:07an injury so i think he's chomping at the bit to get back in there and get busy he almost
04:12had a
04:12chunk play in the first matchup that the sean missed him in that crucial fourth quarter uh but so having
04:19him along with jutkins is is huge also if we're being completely honest gillen getting bill and samson
04:27back is even bigger because there's your guy that could turn a swing pass or a short pass into a
04:33chunk play down the field so now you're starting to see the browns get guys back healthy on offense
04:39the run game is starting to pop a little bit you saw it against tennessee samson is a guy that's
04:44dangerous in space he was last year as a rookie and now having him back in the fold and getting
04:49harold fan involved gives this brown team in my opinion their offense at least a different look
04:54against the sealers than we saw in week number four are the steelers a fraudulent five win team
05:00nah there are no fraudulent five win teams in the nfl um i we were having this discussion last night
05:07uh whether or not what was more impressive the packers five and three or the vikings six and oh
05:12it's hard to win in the nfl as you guys know and anytime you go rack up those wins however
05:18they come
05:19you got to just take them and so because it gives you some of those calluses that you're going to
05:23need
05:24toward the back end of the season and into the postseason so
05:27yet it has been ugly for the pittsburgh sealers at times but we can say the same thing about the
05:31browns but at the end of the day five wins is five wins emory obviously we're very brown centric here
05:38but this uh this bill's ravens game has is a lot of implications as well lamar's back for the game
05:44uh from the buffalo side you're thinking hey let's really take advantage of the afc here or try and get
05:50a jump on the rest of the afc here from the raven side i mean if you lose this game
05:55you've lost a
05:56couple recent games here then you've got thursday night against jacksonville i i think it's a
06:01gigantic game for the ravens because it just feels like the season really does rely on the next two
06:06games am i putting too much emphasis on this next two games for for the ravens absolutely not because
06:12if you also extrapolate out the division having that loss versus the browns and bingles now puts
06:18their pathway to the top of the north um in jeopardy because they're gonna have to really run the
06:23table you know the last four games of the season when it's all uh division opponents and so this
06:29game is huge not only for their psyche because buffalo has been a bugaboo for the ravens but also
06:34for you know wild card implications they got to find ways to stack wins right now they only got
06:40two wins against two afc opponents that's the colts and the titans um and the other two wins are against
06:46nfc teams so they got to start finding some afc wins and you really want to test yourself against
06:51teams that are competing for the playoff like the cincinnati bingles like the buffalo bills and
06:55jacksonville jaguars that they have coming up in the next two the next three games or two games i'm
07:00sorry so yeah this game is huge the next game is huge and if they can find a way to
07:05get a win
07:06against buffalo it gives them confidence going into jacksonville and definitely gives them confidence
07:11going into the charges so they have given themselves little room for error because of the four and three
07:17start but also how the rest of the division looks and how the rest of this afc looks as well

07:22obviously you've been a shador supporter for a long time and so i am very curious part of your 10
07:26win
07:27prediction was built on the idea that shador would be the guy delivering those wins because you love
07:31so many the offensive pieces and then with shador it would all work what do you think the record would
07:36be for the browns right now if munkin had gone to shador first instead of going to deshaun watson
07:41i think they would be six and one as opposed to five and two i feel like they would have
07:45won the
07:45jacks game and the reason why i feel that way all we saw was shador playing bad weather i don't
07:50think
07:50we saw shador playing a sunny good afternoon in cleveland everything was either a wind rain sleep
07:56snow hail like it was always bad and he showed he could manage the game in those situations um so
08:02i
08:02think they yeah the raiders game obviously they played in ideal condition um but i would say they'd be
08:08five and one or six and one uh to me shador give they were the offense would have looked a
08:13lot better
08:13much more consistent so instead of getting these close tight wins they probably win by a touchdown or
08:19at least 10 points because the offense would be much more explosive the defense could then pay it off
08:24and get those turnovers get those sacks um so we we'd still see a team in the five six win
08:30range
08:30but we'd see it differently because the offense would be averaging 24 plus points a game which then would
08:36make the entirety of their season less of a question as how most people around the football
08:41world are discussing and now like oh they can't keep this up they're cardiac browns they would just
08:46be a good football team um if shador was in there and they were playing balance on offense which
08:52eventually he'll get his opportunity but right now you're finding ways to win the sean is starting
08:57to get his confidence with each and every game and the cool part about what the sean has done
09:02is the fact that you're seeing him start to realize his his former self and i think that's the cool
09:10part about this whole story because earlier in the year he's hesitant to throw the football deep he was
09:14averaging you know two point whatever yards in the temp and now we're starting to see him ripping a
09:20little bit more in the intermediate area of the field maybe he's pushing the ball every now and
09:24then deeper down the field but we never saw that up until it for full game up until tennessee but
09:30if
09:31shador is out there we see it every game and the offense will look different but the results will
09:35probably still be the same minus one game do you believe the browns are still the best opportunity
09:40for shador to showcase his abilities or do you feel like uh he hired an agent for a reason and
09:45we're
09:45going to have a trade either not at this deadline but this offseason i think he hired an agent for
09:51a
09:51reason because he's a brand so he has you need an agent to take care of stuff outside of football
09:56so he could then focus on football i still feel like the browns are the future is the future is
10:02with shador and also with the browns and the cool part about it and this is why folks can't continue
10:09to get caught up on quote unquote fifth round picks because and i've said this before on this show
10:14shador was a first round talent people had him top three picks at worst top 40 so if you have
10:20that as
10:21your baseline and he just so happens to be taken in the fifth round you can still view him as
10:26a guy
10:27that was a first round talent that they're grooming to be the future if you was taking in the first
10:30round and they're doing this thing with the sean to having him start and having shador learn this
10:34new system no one would say no one would blink an eye i still feel like this is an alex
10:39smith
10:39colin kaepernick situation to where at some point the offense realizes his ceiling and say maybe we can go
10:46to this guy to help elevate our ceiling a little bit more whether that's in the regular season or
10:51if the browns keep doing this maybe in the postseason like it was when san francisco made that
10:55move from alex smith to colin kaepernick smith wasn't playing bad they just realized they had a
11:01little bit more juice waiting in the wings with kaepernick so they made that move i think this is
11:05a similar situation that's why i credit what the browns are doing because they're actually developing
11:10their future franchise quarterback behind their current quarterback in deshaun watson emery great
