00:03These dehydrate your skin because all the moisture from your skin gets sucked into the
00:06juice of this.
00:08Are you joking?
00:09Yeah.
00:09Hey guys, it's me Anne and this is Beauty With Me.
00:12As a beauty waiter, I get a lot of questions about hair and makeup and the most commonly
00:17asked question is about Glossier.
00:19The Glossier skin or that Glossier skin effect, what you see in the ads and the Instagrams
00:23of the beautiful models with the amazing skin and the really high cheekbones has always
00:28felt a little out of reach to me.
00:30So I thought I should probably learn.
00:33And I thought who better to teach me than makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes.
00:37Katie and I have worked together in the past.
00:39She's actually done my makeup before but she is perfect to teach me how to get Glossier
00:42skin because she actually did the makeup for a number of Glossier campaigns.
00:46Like the newest Lidstar campaign, the Haloscope campaign, the Body Hero campaign.
00:52So I am actually going to go to her apartment.
00:54She's going to teach me the entire like step-by-step process.
00:59I'm going to attempt to do it myself later this week and you guys are coming with me.
01:04So I will see you there.
01:05Bye.
01:08Hi.
01:09Hi.
01:10So good to see you.
01:11I missed you.
01:11I missed you.
01:12It's been so long.
01:13So I am finally here with Katie Jane Hughes.
01:16I tried to like gussy myself up in a way that like looks like I maybe could belong on their
01:20Instagram.
01:21I mean, I think you did it.
01:23So first things first, exfoliating.
01:26I'm going to use Glossier solution because it gets rid of any dead skin.
01:29It helps like even out excess oil production on the skin, that kind of thing.
01:33The better that you can get your skin to look without makeup on it, the less makeup you're
01:36going to end up using.
01:37Therefore, the less makeup you're going to have to fight to keep on the face, the more like
01:40yourself you're going to look.
01:41All right.
01:41I'm going to cocktail your skincare.
01:42What that means is to assess the parts of your face that you really need to put product.
01:46This is Caudalie Premier Cru.
01:47This is one of my favorite serums to use.
01:49Who is it?
01:49It's an anti-aging serum.
01:51I'm going to use about three pumps.
01:52And I'm just going to put it into the palms of my hands.
01:55So then I'm going to take Primer Moisturizer Rich, probably about that much.
01:59You're kind of focusing the product on the high points of the face where your hair is going
02:03to be.
02:04Exactly.
02:04I'm like building the highlighter from the base up.
02:06Perfecting Skin Tint is, in my opinion, a toner for the skin.
02:10So it's kind of almost like a first evening out step.
02:13Exactly.
02:17Stretch Concealer is one of my favorite concealers in the world.
02:20I use it with either my finger or a brush, but I'm going to use it with a brush and
02:22get
02:22it into areas.
02:23Yeah, it's soft.
02:24And I'm just going to kind of press it wherever I want, like a little bit of coverage.
02:28I'm going to use a teeny bit more coverage.
02:29I'm going to use the Flawless Fusion from Laura.
02:32I'll just press it around and then just pat it in with my fingertip really gently.
02:37Now I'm going to use the fairest version of Wowda, and I'm just going to pick some up.
02:40I'm just going to roll it over any areas that I want to kill the shine.
02:44Why are you rolling versus brushing?
02:47Brushing and rubbing can disturb the stuff that you've already done, and it can like disturb
02:50the skin texture, and it can also make powder flick everywhere.
02:53And then we're going to use cloud paint.
02:55Dusk is like my favorite because I mix it with everything.
02:58I love Dusk.
03:06And then puff.
03:07And then I'm just going to have you smile a little bit, and just like look at where-
03:11Yeah, okay.
03:11So I'm just going to go here.
03:17Press it on, and then blend the edges so that I can still keep the color.
03:21I am going to mix together the taupey one and the light reddish one to create a color
03:26that's unique.
03:27You can use them with your fingers or a brush, but the part that I'm going to go into right
03:30now, I'm going to use a brush.
03:31I'm using Lily.
03:34Do you find that sweeping it gives the most pigment?
03:37I mean, it's like supposed to be a sheer like tint.
03:41It's a tint, not an eyeshadow, if that makes sense.
03:43So it's like I definitely feel that you can- the first layer should always be a sweet, smooth
03:48it through, don't leave any like bits thick and bubbly, and then you can build if you need
03:53to.
03:54You should always curl your own eyelashes, and you should always put your own mascara
03:57on because you can always get more push, and you can always get more of a lift with
04:02your own.
04:05This is Gen.G in Cake.
04:07I'm just going to press it on just to create like a look.
04:13I'm just going to do a little bit of boy brow.
04:14This is the shade in blonde.
04:16Why blonde?
04:17I'm craving a softer brow.
04:19My favorite step of makeup ever is highlighter always.
04:22I'm a big fan of highlighter that looks wet in real life as opposed to dry.
04:26I don't favor powders, but I don't dislike them.
04:29I use them in a specific way, but creams are my favorite because I think they always just
04:32look like life is on the skin.
04:35Okay, we're all done.
04:37I'm shocked at how fast that was.
04:39I feel like Glossier has such a relatable, yet at the same time such an aspirational vibe.
04:46They are a really cool brand, but they are also like your girlfriend.
04:49So I'm going to try to do this tomorrow.
04:52Same look.
04:53Just in case.
04:54I wrote it all down for you on a list.
04:56So wish me luck.
04:57Good luck.
04:59Break a leg.
05:00Thanks.
05:01You're going to be great.
05:02Bye guys.
05:03Bye.
05:04So I just did my makeup in the Glossier style following the lovely Katie Jane Hughes very
05:12very careful instructions.
05:14The eyeshadows were quite sheer and I do feel a little naked without more product of my eyes.
05:19Eyeliner and stuff like that.
05:20But I did manage to build them up.
05:22I do think I got a good amount of definition out of it.
05:27Flat brush.
05:28Way to go.
05:29That's the way to go to get pigment out of these.
05:31So I usually powder my entire face.
05:34Katie told me just to powder my T-zone, which is not what I usually do.
05:37But I did it and I actually think I like it.
05:39I think I used a little more powder than Katie would have just out of sheer habit.
05:43But it kept the perimeter of my face really nice and dewy and lovely.
05:47I do feel a little naked without my bronzer and my eyeliner and such.
05:51I'm going to see how it wears throughout the day and then tomorrow I might try it again
05:55and adapt it to include some of the things that make it feel a little bit more me.
05:59So see you tonight.
06:01Hey guys.
06:01So it is almost 10 p.m.
06:03So I've been wearing this makeup for almost like 12 hours.
06:09And in terms of the shine, I was actually quite pleased with how glowy and dewy my skin looked.
06:15Like at around 3 or 4 p.m. today I caught myself in the mirror and I was like,
06:18oh, your skin looks really good.
06:20Like way glowier than it usually does because normally I powder my face to oblivion.
06:25I think it was a successful run.
06:27So I'll see you guys tomorrow for day three.
06:29Bye.
06:30Hey guys.
06:31So it is day three of the Glossier Challenge and I have just done my makeup in the same style
06:36that Katie taught me but added a few elements that made it feel a little bit more like me.
06:41So the first thing I changed was I added a little bit of gel moisturizer to the Priming Rich moisturizer.
06:48So I used the Innisfree Cica Balm and I added a little bit more powder just in my T-zone.
06:53And then I added a touch, a touch of bronzer.
06:56I added a little bit of a kohl brown eyeliner to the top of my lash line, winged it out
07:01slightly just to give myself a little bit more definition.
07:03Instead of using the Cake Generation G lipstick, which is that nude, I went for Crush.
07:08Now Crush is this beautiful bright pink shade.
07:12I do think that, you know, especially the look that I did today is one that I would wear over
07:17and over and over again.
07:18I really enjoyed it.
07:19I think that I learned a lot from Katie and from this experience that I want to adopt into my
07:25own routine.
07:26I think it did really push me out of my comfort zone and kind of taught me to try something
07:32new.
07:32And we'll see you guys next week. Bye!
