00:00Thank you for listening.
00:33CIGRE is a very important part of my life.
00:37CIGRE is an unbiased organization that writes the state of the art in the field of electrical
00:45power networks collecting electricity generation.
00:49We are at the forefront of the standards.
01:00I've been with CIGRE since the 90s.
01:05I began as delegate in sessions.
01:09Then I was convener in 1996 for four years.
01:14Then study committee secretary during 12 years with insulated cables.
01:19And then technical council secretary during eight years.
01:24Now I am the chief editor of the Green Books published by CIGRE.
01:30And I took over from Constantine Papayou.
01:41CIGRE was an important topic for me because I met world-class experts and this enriched my expertise.
01:56Personally, I visited different countries.
02:01I visited a lot of colleagues.
02:03And this helped me to understand the different cultures.
02:15To most people, 20 years of secretaryship could be a very significant contribution.
02:23But for me, the most important was what I did last year when we had in a very short notice
02:30to organize the E-Session, three months instead of two years.
02:43It is very important to celebrate significant anniversaries.
02:49And the centennial one is a very important one.
02:53It was impossible to meet in person.
02:56It's really a pity, but the way CIGRE is organizing this event is very fantastic.
03:05And once again, CIGRE is at the top of the organization when we have to organize sessions.
03:21The challenges we have to face now, we have to look first at the part, at the past.
03:28CIGRE succeeded in the first century to prepare all the networks that feed us today.
03:35And now, for the next one, we have to prepare the networks of the future.
03:42From my point of view, the most important challenges are we should continue the good cooperation
03:48we have between experts and between countries.
03:53We have to disseminate our know-how to be sure that everybody can have access to a sustainable electricity.
04:02During the past century, CIGRE had prepared all the networks that feed us today.
04:12And now, we have to prepare the network of the future.
04:16And I consider that CIGRE is probably the best organization to do it.
04:21Because we have impartiality and competence and cooperation between experts.
04:30So, from my point of view, CIGRE has a great future.
