Will Jon keep the Vikings out of the top spot?
Transcript
00:09I am particularly interested in hearing how this is going to go.
00:13You said there is a shake-up.
00:14We have only one undefeated team.
00:16Where are you going to put the Minnesota Vikings?
00:20We're about to find out, John.
00:21Take it away.
00:21I tell you what.
00:23So just a little recap where we stand from last week.
00:27We did have three undefeated teams.
00:30The San Francisco 49ers, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Minnesota Vikings.
00:33And as you mentioned, the Minnesota Vikings are the only undefeated team left at 6-0.
00:41Kansas City dropped one, obviously.
00:44San Francisco dropped one to Atlanta.
00:47Kansas City was to Seattle.
00:48Is that a better loss?
00:50In Seattle, yeah.
00:51Yeah, but let's see.
00:53There's a little bit of a reset here.
00:54And just to let you guys know, Buffalo was on a bye, and they were at 4.
00:58Chicago at 5, Jacksonville at 6.
01:02Also on a bye.
01:03Yes.
01:04So, I still have my three tiers.
01:09And the Texans have dropped out of all rankings.
01:14Texan Tom is dead.
01:16They're cooked.
01:18Yeah.
01:18RIP.
01:19And I, they lost to the New York football giants at 9.
01:24The NFC South, which is obviously, you know, Carolina, Tampa, New Orleans, and Atlanta.
01:32All of them currently are not ranked in any of the three tiers.
01:38Last week, it was the NFC East.
01:39However, in Tier 3, we have the NFC East making an appearance.
01:43And we've got the aforementioned New York Giants led by 9.
01:47And the Dallas Cowboys at 3 and 4.
01:51It was a win over Philly.
01:53And some may say a dominant win.
01:55I'm not sure if that is classified as a dominant win.
01:58But it's one they had to have to stay paid, to keep pace with the New York football giants.
02:02The Rams, out of the tiers last week.
02:07Now, all of a sudden, back into Tier 3.
02:09We'll see what they have.
02:10Because they still are a very injured team.
02:12Pucanacua went off.
02:14And Matthew Stafford had a pretty good game.
02:16But, again, injuries are an issue.
02:18Are they going to be a team that goes and buys?
02:20We'll talk a little bit about some of the additions that we saw move around yesterday.
02:25The Raiders are slowly fading.
02:29They were 3 and 4.
02:32No, they're not dead.
02:33I've still got them there because Kirk Cousins has played well.
02:35Are they going to get to a point where we see Fernando?
02:39We'll see.
02:39There was something in the air that night.
02:41In Tier 2.
02:43Well done.
02:45Tier 2.
02:47Denver at 5 and 2.
02:49Still not put them there because of poor quarterback play.
02:53Green Bay, Baltimore, New England, all at 4 and 3.
03:01Jacksonville drops out on a bye.
03:04How dare they?
03:05Well, you know what?
03:07They pipped them.
03:08Yeah.
03:08The loss to the Texans is kind of one where I'm looking at it going, eh.
03:14Eh, I don't know.
03:16So they're still there, but not in the top 6.
03:20Did I mention Baltimore?
03:22They're at 4 and 3.
03:23Yeah, but you didn't mention somebody.
03:26You didn't mention Detroit.
03:28Detroit is there.
03:30Unless I missed them.
03:30All right.
03:31Yeah, no, sorry.
03:31Detroit is in Tier 2.
03:33I'm not going to put them all the way up.
03:35That's why I was wondering.
03:35I was like, is that the big reveal?
03:37No.
03:38I may be a homer in some regards, but not that far yet.
03:42Pittsburgh, Cleveland.
03:44I don't even know what to make of Cleveland.
03:46I just keep thinking that they're going to fall off.
03:50Tom came in the other day.
03:51He goes, we need to make sure we put Pitt, Cleveland in the picks this week.
03:54And I didn't laugh at him.
03:55They're two 5-win teams.
03:57Yeah, 5 and 2 for both of them.
03:58And here's the thing about Cleveland.
04:01The most fourth quarter comebacks, the most fourth quarter points of any team in football this year.
04:07I would think whoever is orchestrating those would get some MVP consideration.
04:10Yeah, their head coach is right there.
04:14Buffalo.
04:15All right.
04:15Buffalo is there as well.
04:17Wait, Buffalo's out of the?
04:18Yeah, Buffalo is out of the top six.
04:20And here's the reason for Buffalo being out of the top six.
04:23Even though it was a bye, I just learned more about other teams.
04:26And I was just waiting for somebody to take the reins.
04:28Buffalo's defense, we have been all over Detroit for their defense.
04:32Buffalo's defense is ranked 31.
04:35Wow.
04:36And we could say all we want about Josh Allen and the offense, but you also have James Cook
04:41who continues to fumble the football.
04:43I think he even had a turnover last week and they weren't playing.
04:46So who the hell's in the top six then?
04:48We've got Seattle at number six.
04:51Best team events in the NFL.
04:52And I am throwing in there the addition of Quinnen Williams.
04:57That right there is a move that could make them Super Bowl contenders yet again.
05:07Now, no Kenneth Walker like they had last year.
05:10Their run game is not going to be what it was last year.
05:14But it is going to be greatly improved because of the addition and the strength they need up front.
05:19But it's also going to be a great at being able to protect because Quinnen Wilson is rated third in
05:26guards in the pass protection grade.
05:29We still got mahogany ahead of him.
05:31So yeah.
05:31So yeah.
05:33Feathering the cap for Detroit.
05:34Yep.
05:34They're still not in the top six.
05:38Cincinnati comes in at five and it's Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, Tia Higgins.
05:43Now, I wish they had a little bit more of a rushing attack, but they have protected Joe Burrow.
05:48They're playing defense.
05:51And if you look at their upcoming schedule and what they've done, and this is where I talked about, hey,
05:57having some of the schedule in this.
05:59They're three and one on the road.
06:01They haven't played a lot of home games.
06:03And in fact, they've only played two.
06:05One of them, they lost to the Jags.
06:07And you're wondering, well, you know, if they only televised that game, I know that's where you want to go
06:11with that.
06:11But I think Cincinnati is going to win that division.
06:14I think they are going to be a team that is going to continue to improve offensively.
06:20Jamar Chase, I think, is right there with Justin Jefferson as the best receiver in the NFL.
06:25If they win the division, we're going to look back to last week where they were shut out in the
06:28first half.
06:29Down 14-0.
06:30Very little going and scored 35 unanswered in the second half.
06:34Now, here we get to some relevancy for us.
06:38Obviously, Detroit's not in this.
06:39But the Chicago Bears at 5-2, playing surprisingly, shockingly, concerningly good defense.
06:49And you put that with what Caleb Williams is doing so far this year that went over the Pats.
06:55His ability to deliver on-time passes and passes that are protecting his receivers.
07:04Unbelievable.
07:05And the fact that they're actually catching them.
07:07So that's the reason they're at 4.
07:09They're at 5-2.
07:10Minnesota stays at 3.
07:14They are 6-0.
07:16They've got two division wins.
07:17They started off the season with two division games.
07:19Those were wins.
07:21But their other wins are the Bucs, without Baker Mayfield.
07:25The Dolphins, who surprisingly got their first win, but thought that they were going to be an unwin team.
07:32The Saints and the Colts.
07:35So I don't have a lot of confidence that this is a good team.
07:40Their resume, even though they are undefeated, does not compare to the top two teams.
07:46And they have only shifted.
07:48San Francisco drops down to 2 at 6-1.
07:52And they get DeForest Buckner, even though they made that addition.
07:57And DeForest Buckner is a good player.
07:58But I don't think he's going to be a difference maker like Quinnen Williams is for the Seattle Seahawks.
08:05Quinnen Nelson, yes.
08:07What did I say, Quinnen Williams?
08:08Yeah.
08:08Sorry, he's in Dallas.
08:10Kansas City takes over the number one spot.
08:12Now the concern for Kansas City is all the injuries that they have at the wide receiver position.
08:18I expect Brett Veach, their general manager, is going to be one of those guys that goes out and adds
08:23to the wide receiver room.
08:25But you've got a generational quarterback in Patrick Mahomes.
08:30You've got a defense that is playing extremely good.
08:35But it's Kenneth Walker and the addition of the run game.
08:37That is, even though they have the injury at receiver, they can look to Kenneth Walker to create their offense,
08:45be their offensive powerhouse, and take pressure off of Travis Kelsey and that receiver group.
08:51Let me give you two receivers I think they should target.
08:53One, Stephon Diggs, and two, to help my fantasy football team, Brian Thomas Jr.
08:59Yes, there's been a lot of talk about them trading for Brian Thomas.
09:04Now, Vikings, I think the bubble's going to burst at some point.
09:07Yeah.
09:08But I want to know, what do they have to do for John Jansen to respect them more?
09:13Like, their schedule coming up, they're going to play the Lions, the Bills, Green Bay, and San Francisco all before
09:19we get to Thanksgiving.
09:20I would imagine, John, at some point.
09:23Yeah, we'll see how they do against the better teams.
09:24They just haven't played a high-quality schedule.
09:28The easy part of their schedule is done.
09:31And now they get to start playing with some of the big boys.
09:33We'll see what happens this weekend.
09:36Tom, issues?
09:39I think you have to put Denver in instead of Seattle.
09:44Denver beat Seattle, and their two losses are Kansas City and San Francisco.
09:48That's the case for them.
09:50I thought about that, but I just think they're living on the edge right now with Bo Nix and the
09:56way he is playing.
09:57Sean Payton did take over the play calling, which, shocker, I think we all thought that was going to happen
10:02at some point.
10:02He couldn't stand idly by.
10:05I just don't have faith.
10:07One of the better defenses as well, they pressure quarterbacks, but I just don't trust Bo Nix.
10:12And they're the Super Bowl champs, too, Seattle.
10:13Look, it's debatable.
10:15I think the big thing that you did here, you took Buffalo out.
10:18And I think you're right.
10:19There's 10 teams, bottom 10 defenses, points allowed in the league.
10:25Only one of them is above .500.
10:27Right.
10:28And it's the Buffalo Bills.
10:29It's the Buffalo Bills, yeah.
10:30And they had their bye.
10:33And New England also showed how you beat them.
10:35You can hold their offense within check, play the game in the 20s, low 30s, and that's why I think
10:40the Bengals would beat them,
10:41and that's why I think the Bengals should be in instead of Buffalo.
10:44I think you're right.
10:45I think you did a really good job with that.
10:46And you've been in on Cincinnati from the jump.
10:49Now they're starting to really get into high gear here.
10:51They're starting to find some rhythm, get some confidence,
10:52and they're going to start playing at home.
10:55It's the Power Surge.
10:56It's 97-1.
