00:07okay um if you missed jared goff we'll replay it today at 12 30 in the meantime
00:15i don't think the name amon ross st brown came up once on the show yesterday
00:24and it's it's funny because what we but we know how this business works right when things don't go
00:30well is when people get mentioned and things get talked about and people want to call
00:36but i think i think it's i think it's important at this time that we stop what we're doing
00:41and we talk about amon ross because he had another one of those games where he looked like he was
00:47perpetually open uh nine receptions on 11 targets for 153 yards it was 17 yards per catch
00:57i'm gonna have to do the math on this he's top 10 in the nfl right now in receiving yards
01:04but i would argue he might be having you could make a case he's having the best season of all
01:08the guys in the top 10 and the reason is his receptions per target like he is when when
01:18when his quarterback throws his direction it's a higher percentage of receptions by my but that
01:27just looking at it with the naked eye i'm gonna have to do the math and i will jsn i
01:31think is
01:32slightly better it might be uh i'm gonna rise 46 out of 68 targets so there's an 18 gap in
01:40there and
01:40you do the math on what percentage that is smith and jig was 58 out of 78 so there's 20
01:45for the gap
01:46but he's caught more passes and been thrown more passes yeah i think you're right but it'd be slight
01:52it's slight anyway the point is he had another elite game now as as he mentioned and we talked
02:02about a little bit laporta only got the two targets and the one you know that he pointed out how
02:08big it
02:09was that laporta made that catch hadn't touched the football all day and made the catch on that last
02:19drive and you know if you're running routes all day and the ball's not coming your direction
02:25by the end of the game are you just it's got to be a mental thing to make sure you're
02:30running every
02:30route with the same intensity and crispness and attention to detail as you did the first route of
02:35the game because you know i remember hearing from receivers that you will find that you know that it's
02:46tough you're the receiver i talked to once called all they do all i get is empty routes i'm just
02:52out
02:52there running around they never throw me the ball well this is why i'm on rise different and why i
02:58love
02:58i'm on ross st brown and why yesterday is just case in point why he's great too he's underrated
03:08even my lions fans he's underrated he might be slightly taken for granted how great he really is
03:15because it doesn't matter if he's catching the ball having a ball thrown to him or not what matters is
03:21the ultimate success of the team he's the first guy to come out and say we got a lot of
03:25mouths to feed
03:26you know we got a lot of a lot of options here he knows his time's going to come so
03:31if he goes one
03:32game where he's caught two passes for for 21 yards and then the next game you know he's going to
03:37go off
03:37for 10 and 153 and a couple of scores yeah that's that's fine as long as they win and i
03:44think he
03:45personifies exactly what you're looking for and when you watch his podcast with his brother and stuff
03:49and he's just he's kind of it's not that he's laid back i think he seems focused but he seems
03:57he's just cool you know what it is there's there's a cool factor about st brown it's almost
04:01like unemotional and clinical i go out there i'm uncoverable i run a great route i catch the ball
04:10i get what i can i step out of bounds right it's just it's like this clinical performance put on
04:17week in week out by amanra st brown and and you know this past sunday he was so good so
04:27good i mean
04:28hell i'm not blaming anybody for not bringing it up we didn't even ask golf about it no right
04:33and and it's like he understands maybe better than anybody in the league because i think he really
04:40does love doing this that hey if the ball's not thrown my way i still have a job to do
04:46i have to run my route so that player the defensive players are paying attention to me which may free
04:52up somebody else and more importantly once the ball is thrown i've got a job to do then i gotta
04:57get
04:57downfield and block i gotta get my guy some extra yards he's a complete player he's awesome
05:04and you know yardage wise look he's he's like 300 yards behind uh jackson smith and jigma might be
05:14having the greatest season ever of a wide receiver in the history of the league we'll see where it is
05:19when the season's done but st brown is so damn consistent and you know exactly what you're getting
05:24with him he's he's great i didn't mean to launch into a debate over him being and i started down
05:30that road i also felt like it's kind of a yes sense having a yes he is yes he is
05:35yes he is but
05:36in the meantime our guy our guy's great our guy is really really good and he's so reliable and he
05:42shows
05:42up and you know if it's third down um and that's why the the pass interference call that resulted
05:51it did nullify the the interception when amon rock couldn't turn and golf through a pass that looked
06:00off you go well golf and amon rock we know these choice routes they're always on the same page
06:06it makes sense that it was pass interference it's almost like we want to tell packer fans you guys
06:12don't understand you may think that that's not interference that's a bs call let me tell you
06:18something our quarterback at number 14 they've got this connection that was going to be a first down
06:24you guys were fortunate to be talking at them and and and look jmo had the two touchdowns which is
06:30great there's nothing wrong i mean that's the thing about having this many pass catchers is some days
06:35you're going to end up in the end zone some days you're not going to get the targets like sam
06:38laporta
06:39laporta was a huge part of the arizona win and then jameer gibbs we did get calls about jameer
06:44gibbs yesterday and jameer gibbs went out and had a great game over 100 yards again uh caught passes out
06:51of the backfield and made runs out of nothing and and really caught people's eyes and got plenty of
06:59attention and deservedly so but the more i was like looking back at my notes from
07:04the game gator i'm like we didn't take one call i mean maybe we got some texts that never made
07:11it
07:11through but we need to talk about amanra's performance again and he was great the lions
07:17we talk about mouths to feed they have four of the top 56 pass catchers in the nfl yep that's
07:23just done
07:23by receptions and they they played one fewer game than a lot of those teams yeah that's that's impressive
07:29okay um 248-539-9797 if there's anything that you think we're not talking about enough
07:37let us know what it is that's what we do with the open lines uh in the meantime dan campbell
