00:00So we have the New York City Marathon is just over two weeks away. Can you give
00:03us a status update on your training? Yeah it's we're in the we're in the
00:07middle of training still because I just ran Berlin three weeks ago which is you
00:12know a little unusual a lot of people aren't you know running that close to
00:14the marathon but there are people that do it. I have a coach and she really
00:17helped me put a plan together. The training is also about taking days off
00:21and resting, making sure you're taking care of your body, getting good sleep,
00:26just staying off your legs really is probably more important than running
00:30sometimes. Exactly. So what are you doing on those rest days? Honestly like today's
00:35a rest day which I'm not really resting resting but you know I could be a
00:39combination just stretching. I like to use a roller at home I stretch. Sometimes
00:44we'll go to a cold plunge or sauna. Massages some days just eat a bunch of
00:50food and not do anything and just veg out. It can be a variety of things but
00:55I try to do stuff that hopefully will be health like healthy in general. Gotcha
01:01and if I'm not mistaken this marks your fourth marathon. This will be my fourth
01:05marathon. Are you aiming for a particular PR or is this kind of mainly just for the
01:09vibes and excitement of it all? No I'm aiming for a PR. I'm trying to be under
01:13four hours. Okay. I've been very close. So New York City last year I was 404, London in
01:20April I was 402, in Berlin I was 424. So I'm right there. But yes sub four is the goal.
01:29Love it. And the New York Roadrunners, the non-profit behind this marathon, announced some of the stars
01:35running the marathon including yourself. Is there anyone on the list you're most excited
01:39to run alongside? Tiki Barber is the New York Giants running back. I saw him on the list.
01:45I love sports. Jennifer Conley is an incredible actress. I saw her on the list. You know some of
01:51my other cohorts in the reality TV world of course are fun to run with. But yeah I think it's
01:57just a
01:57tremendous honor to be able to be a part of such an amazing day in New York. You know I'm
02:01really proud
02:01of why I'm running which is I raise money for addiction and mental health services. You know
02:05there's a community here in New York called Release Recovery. They have a foundation and a lot
02:09of the money that we raise to run actually pays for someone's rehab that can't afford it. A lot of
02:15times
02:15people that need the treatment can't afford it. So be able to use my running story to help other
02:19people. That's like that's everything. That's why I do it. So it's really powerful. And I feel like
02:25one of the essentials for success in a marathon like this is a support system especially in the
02:31crowd on race day. Do you know anyone who will be cheering you on come November 1st? I mean I
02:35hope
02:36to see some of my summer house friends. You know Kyle of course, maybe Lindsey, maybe some of the
02:42others. Jesse, KJ, we'll see. I don't know if everybody's going to be up and at them that Sunday
02:48morning. But no like I have my Release Recovery community. There's about 150 of us here in New York
02:55City that are running for the marathon. Our community of sober people, it's not judgmental.
03:00Like not everybody that's running is sober but we all run for the same cause and we're all allies of
03:04the sobriety and mental health movement. And you were telling me earlier a little bit about the music
03:09that you've been listening to while training. Tell me more about it and some of the artists that will
03:13definitely be on the playlist while you're running this marathon. Yeah I mean I have a unique running
03:18music thing which is here in New York we're blessed with so many amazing artists that come from these
03:23different neighborhoods and in boroughs. So when I'm running through Brooklyn I'll listen to Jay-Z
03:29or Biggie. If I'm running through Queens which I run through Astoria and Queensbridge, Nas, Mobb Deep,
03:3650 Cent. You get across the Queensborough, now you're on the Upper East Side. Harlem, you got A$AP Rocky,
03:41you got Cameron, you got the Diplomats. Work your way back down. Like there's just so much cool music
03:46I think that while you're running they're actually rapping about the areas that you're literally on the
03:50streets of. That's awesome. No joke. Like I've been, I mean there's the Jay-Z line to 550 State Street
03:57which is next to Barclays Arena. Like you literally run by the building he's rapping about
04:01in the music. So it's, for me it gives me a lot of energy. I like to be connected to
04:06the city.
04:07I love music. I actually just bookmarked Soft Bar and Belly. I'm very excited to check it out.
04:12You recently celebrated a year of being in business. What has that meant to you?
04:16I mean it's amazing. I'm really proud of my team and the community that we're building.
04:22It's not easy obviously but you know we've been working with my core Soft Bar team since April of
04:282024. So you know we were building and getting the concept up and running. We did pop-ups.
04:33We then were building our space but to be open for like 12 months in New York is not easy.
04:39We've
04:39done a lot of great stuff. We've made mistakes but we've learned a lot and my goal is to prove
04:43the
04:44concept. We are you know really building I think a real third space and a real brand but the key
04:50thing
04:50is our drinks are incredible. We serve some of the best cocktails I think in New York alcohol-free
04:57but it's one step at a time. You know I've seen a lot of brands that have these crazy rocket
05:02ships
05:02and a lot of times they come right back down. So I want to just build slow and steady.
05:07Build things the right way strategically. Listen to our community. Listen to the market
05:12but just trying to kind of keep moving it one day at a time. Season 11 recently wrapped production.
05:18Is there anything you can tease in terms of what storylines we might see going forward?
05:23Kyle's single.
05:24Period.
05:26Yeah everybody's single and Kyle is single. It's for the first time in I think our show's
05:30history where the entire group is coming into the house you know single. So you know I don't know
05:38how long you've been watching the show for but that's never happened and I think it will provide
05:41some different energy in a good way. We're also in a new house. So two new things right off the
05:47bat
05:47which are never been brand new house. Everybody's single. Feels pretty good to me.
05:53And what would you say are the biggest changes in the new house compared to the old house?
05:57Basketball court in the new house which is sick. I love that. The pool is a little bit smaller
06:02in the new house but the new house is newer. So there's just something about living in a nicer
06:10fresher. And for me personally I mean we had many summers in the house we had just been
06:16in. Season 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Five seasons in that house. There's a lot of memories. A lot
06:23of history. You know from I wasn't with Lindsay season 6 to then being with her. Then we're
06:28in a relationship. Then we break up. Kyle and Amanda. All of it. Like there's a lot of history
06:33in that house. So to start fresh in a new house I was excited about. And I think it will
06:40lend itself to a, it's going to feel like a totally new season because we're not in that
06:44same house. And did it feel like tensions were as high as they were when season 10 ended
06:50or would you say? No. I mean I think the tension you saw was kind of. At its peak. At
06:56its peak
06:56there. And then I think we've all tried to move on and enjoy the opportunity that we had. And it
07:03was I know unique for some of us. I mean walking into the house and not seeing Amanda Petula was
07:08was interesting. Yeah. I have been friends with her for a long time and not seeing her was
07:12definitely an adjustment. But it was also exciting because we had some new faces. You brought up your
07:16relationship with Lindsay which I feel like is so admirable. And I've loved seeing how close you guys
07:20still are or have gone to this place. What would you say is your biggest piece of advice to get
07:26to
07:26that point with an ex? Accountability. Like really taking some time I think also. I think time heals
07:35a lot. But you have to move forward with respect. And I think anytime there's breakups there's always
07:42going to be those resentments and feelings. And you've got to kind of work through that and release
07:46all of that. And you know for her and I it's not been overnight. I mean we broke up in
07:52August of 2023.
07:54It's you know October 2026. So it's three years now. We had so much history together. And it is
08:00unusual for a couple to be engaged and then become friends again. But we were friends longer than we
08:06were together before we got together. So I'm just really proud that she's allowed the conversation.
08:12She's been willing to explore the friendship again. Because I missed the friendship. And I think people
08:19forget we were really obviously very tight as friends. And then we'd start dating. But once we
08:24broke up she I mean disappeared from my life. I get why. But you don't think you don't feel that
08:30until
08:30it's happening. So it was an adjustment for some time not having her in my life. Even though I know
08:36why. So I'm really just happy that she's been so cool and so willing to explore what it could be
08:42like
08:43to be friends. And it's been really healthy.
