00:00is it too early for anyone to use the phrase it's just one game or am I going to get
00:06ratioed again
00:07like I did two weeks ago because I just I want to say last night stunk I was the biggest
00:13comeback
00:13in the history of LeBron James's career in the regular season that's true um the fact that it
00:19was LeBron in Philly didn't help things at all the fact that Philly fans went from booing the
00:24team to cheering the team and then the fact that it was a call back to game one of the
00:28Eastern
00:28Conference Finals none of that was enjoyable again the seven and sevens did help but I feel like I
00:35feel like some of the reactions to game one loss to the the Sixers were a little heavy-handed last
00:40let me tell you why I feel like uh people are warranted if they had some heavy-handed reactions
00:45okay okay you spent all summer thinking about what happened in game one of the Eastern Conference
00:51Finals where you got waxed uh after blowing a a 20-point lead and you you then and that was
00:57your
00:58response no I like you you spent again this is this is kind of like when Jared Allen spent three
01:02months in the summer being like the lights are too bright oh no the lights are too bright and then
01:06like the response to it was oh I'm still getting bullied by the Knicks like like when you spend
01:10that much time this summer thinking about blowing insurmountable leads cannot be our DNA and then the
01:16very first game you get you have a 29-point lead at the half and you blow that one that's
01:20not great
01:20all right maybe it's because I drank a lot last night can I give you the hair of the dog
01:25sure is that the defense like maybe they needed to blow that lead last night as a way to get
01:31over
01:31the hangover from blowing the lead in game one even even bigger yeah you know hey I tied one too
01:37many on last night I'm gonna have what I had last night to get on the right side of things
01:41maybe
01:41that's the exact same principle it's just the only thought I kept going back to all morning long and
01:45all last night was thinking like you spent all summer thinking about that blown lead and this is your
01:50response but it's one game like it this like if this if this continues to happen it becomes what
01:56I think is obviously some sort of uh a bug right like it and at some point like that's just
02:01who you
02:02are it's kind of like it's kind of like disappointing this uh fan base in the playoffs like at some
02:06point
02:06I'm not gonna hammer you for it it's just who you are people are calling us the tin man all
02:10morning
02:10long and all day long that's fine man no heart and by the way uh you know whether it's that
02:16or uh
02:16you know the sir charles saying they don't have any dogs like to me okay so the tin man thing
02:21is
02:22one funny two might be accurate but it's like okay hisonia just had his first game peyton watson
02:27just had his first game i did like uh mario super mario was impressive to me can i can i
02:32buy stock
02:32in super mario you can i don't love the haircut i don't know why it's a little it's a little
02:39eastern
02:39european dictator-y for me yeah like it's one week away from being we gotta have a problematic
02:44conversation from a distance it kind of looks like merrill but then when they go in on it it
02:48looks nothing like no it doesn't like i said uh you can you can gleam which eastern european
02:53dictator i'm talking about yeah thank god the man does not have a tiny mustache or we'd have a real
02:58problem on our hands it's just the falcon social media but do you still want to buy stock in after
03:03i made that reference i think i'm good i think i'd rather get i liked his i liked his game
03:07i thought
03:08his game was i thought it was much better that was not that was not the mario that i remember
03:12playing in the nba but this one this one found creatine nick but i feel like now that we are
03:17almost 24 hours removed from the calves blowing this game we're roughly 18 hours whatever it's been
03:22i do feel like we just don't have to we don't have to hit this one as hard because uh
03:29you know
03:30five weeks from now two weeks from now this one isn't gonna matter right well we hope that it
03:34doesn't matter i mean if the theme of this calves team is have big leads look like you're awesome and
03:39then vomiting all over your shoes that's not going to be a great development no but i think i think
03:44the
03:44idea that we're assuming the first game of the regular season going that way and by the way uh
03:49as bad as the calves were offensively in the third quarter and they were atrocious i mean it felt like
03:56everybody was james harden in the nba finals just bouncing stuff off their shoes some of the dumbest
04:01passes i've ever seen i want to i want to make it clear it was god awful just ugly basketball
04:07i kept
04:07thinking of todd munkin i kept thinking of bleepy football yeah that's what we saw last night yeah
04:13i don't know that we should expect that to assume sorry i don't think we should assume that that's
04:17going to continue i think maybe that's where it's like yeah that stunk and i think you can be mad
04:22about it but the idea of like this is who the calves are i i think there might be something
04:27to say
04:28they don't have that dog in them and the tin man like that might because i think that goes back
04:32to
04:32donovan it goes back to evan it goes back to jared it goes back to james harden but also like
04:38i mean they spent five months trying to fix the problem though and in five minutes they showed us
04:42that they hadn't uh that's that that i think is the depressing part of it at least for myself
04:46isn't that a little premature to say they didn't fix the problem i'm not well i've i mean i only
04:51got
04:51one evidence and you went off talking about how this is the biggest blown lead uh that lebron has
04:56ever been able to overcome in his entire nba career he's been playing for 24 years this is the
05:00biggest one 29 points and that's a gift from dan gilbert it's funny because i was i was trying to
05:04think i was thinking about this earlier like the idea of like the nba 20 point leads just aren't as
05:09safe as they used to be so there's that is one reality of all this like it'd be stupid of
05:14me not
05:14to bring up the fact that the spurs in the nba finals last year in game one blew a 29
05:18point lead
05:19like this does happen but it's just the idea that they had an embarrassing loss in game one of the
05:25eastern conference finals you spend months and months thinking about it talking about it telling us that
05:29it's better and it won't happen again and night one it happens is just uh that's a lot what about
05:35all the leads they didn't blow in the nba finals we just keep talking about the one all right sorry
05:40the eastern conference finals right like think about it it was just game one the rest of the games they
05:45never had a lead never had a lead yeah i think we missed the i think we missed the point
05:49apologies
05:50hey markotch i didn't get a chance to listen to the atkinson post game presser maybe you did i
05:54did maybe you caught it i'm not sure did did atkinson call this one an analytical win as well or
05:58he did not no did he go back to that well at any point did he try taking a victory
06:02lap on he did
06:03admit that he was depressed about lebron not choosing them and then salvaged it by saying but
06:08then we traded for peyton watson and it was like a brand new day and i thought you said he
06:11was he
06:11was depressed no no that's what i said oh you did yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah which is like i
06:15mean
06:16you're playing him that night maybe we leave that was the most honest thing i've ever heard from
06:20atkinson maybe we leave that one in like your biography that you write 20 years from now who wasn't
06:25depressed that was one of the more relatable moments for atkinson yeah that's different for
06:29a fan to say it felt like kenny atkins saying that he thought it was in the bag he thought
06:33that
06:34basically he was here that's what i think is interesting lebron's camp tried really hard to
06:38muddy the waters of truly who was in second place how this thing went down how when did lebron make
06:45his
06:45decision and it's apparent that the calves felt the way calves fans did i don't know where ever
06:51actually get the real story on on lebron choosing philly though my and i don't know if that's because
06:55it's tied with salary cap circumvention i don't know if it's because it's tied to a ridiculously rich
07:01uh billionaire who's part owner in the sixers and also a business partner with every league known to
07:07man but i'm just gonna say i really i don't think we're getting any closer to getting the real story
07:12of
07:12how lebron uh ended up in philly because it does seem the more people talk about it and where people
07:18expected him to go it it does seem like there was an 11th hour something changed and i wonder
07:23what it could be when it involves a billionaire we're definitely not going to hear about it when
07:27he's playing i'll tell you that much is this something like because lebron will write his own
07:32book right i don't know i don't know that he will okay i think he knows there's not enough money
07:36in
07:36books as is uh and so lebron's out on books i'm always torn on that with lebron and his relationship
07:42with books because one side of it is there's an acknowledgement that he he knows it don't
07:46make that much money meanwhile i'll never forget uh when jason lloyd wrote his book about lebron
07:52and he went and was around lebron and all that the the way that i've heard the story is that
07:56at one
07:56point lebron basically came up to jason was like you're welcome essentially for like for like giving
08:02him the he didn't give permission to he just wrote the book you can do that about anybody but as
08:06if
08:06like as if like that's that's like lebron's big gift to jason for all the years of covering him was
08:11this chance to write this book that made basically zero money well if lebron's still handing out big
08:15gifts i'll take a million that's all i want if we're if we're handing out big gifts to the media
08:19i'm just uh just saying i i like a million dollars i'd really like that quick hits coming up at
08:23240
08:24i'm just seeing now this won't it won't be book form but now we're talking about it
08:28audiobook no no no no his version of the last dance the thing that they've been filming for 10 years
08:32already it'll be it'll be in there i would imagine because i mean that's going to go through
08:36every single timeline and what happened and how you got there that's going to be it
