00:01The Spanish territory of Ceuta in North Africa may seem quiet, but politically the situation
00:10here is tense after this summer's influx of thousands of migrants from neighbouring Morocco.
00:18Although most of them have since left the enclave or have been deported,
00:22some inhabitants' political opinions have been affected by the events.
00:29The recent influx of migrants has affected my vote. The first time Sanchez stood,
00:34I voted for him. The next time I cast a blank ballot. And now I'm going to vote for the
00:38centre-right party. I'm saying it, I'm not going to vote for the Socialist Party.
00:43I'm not going to vote for that anymore, no. To me, it's a dictatorship in a suit and tie.
00:50The situation is also giving fresh ammunition to right-wing parties,
00:54which are seeking to use it as an argument in the upcoming elections.
00:59Spain's Prime Minister announced an early general election for 29th of November.
01:07Yes, I think the right here has become more radicalised. In other words,
01:12its rhetoric is now more akin to that of Vox. I don't know if it's a good idea,
01:18or if they think that by doing so they will, shall we say, be more successful and win more votes.
01:25But I don't think that's the case.
01:29Whether right-wing parties will manage to sustain the momentum they're trying to draw from the crisis
01:34in Ceuta remains uncertain. On the Spanish mainland, issues like housing and affordability
01:40have already become more pressing.
