00:07we are now welcoming one of the oldest national committee the u.s national committee and i say
00:14hi to his president hi mr roots hello thank you for joining us it's my pleasure as i said national
00:22u.s national committee is one of the oldest in 1921 french and u.s electric engineers
00:29started to share and this is like the origin of the cigarette so that is to say the importance of
00:37your committee within the secret how would you qualify the importance of cigarette in the united
00:45states nowadays so today then um right now europe is leading the world in climate change and what's
00:53going on in climate change and america's quickly trying to catch up and they look at the european
00:59experience and what we can learn from it from a power engineering point of view and the biggest
01:03thing is the wind development that you have offshore there are only six wind generators in all of america
01:10offshore and you have hundreds of them in europe so we're looking very closely at what lessons learned
01:16because there's going to be a huge expansion in the east coast of america yeah of course uh paris
01:24session is a great way to to re-meet everyone and and i think you were looking forward to um
01:31but it
01:32also a way to listen and share um experiences around the world and to take back that into united states
01:41right absolutely there are things that are happening at this particular session in in paris that you
01:49cannot get anywhere else in the world there is no other place for example the large outages that are
01:56there's a session here where the people have had large power outages and blackouts present what
02:03happened why it happened and how they fixed it in their lessons learned i don't know of any place
02:09else in the world that you get a worldwide group of people to describe that i there is no and
02:16i've been
02:16to a lot of conferences you can't get it you have to come to paris to get it so what
02:20are your like
02:21expectations regarding your own challenges in united states so in the united states we're the second
02:27largest number of members and we're looking to expand and growing more utilities right utilities are
02:34really want the experience that they can learn from segre so we're signing up new utilities we have
02:40a lot of companies here a lot of worldwide companies a lot of european companies coming to the u.s
02:45to help us to help us in doing what we need to do on the on the decarbonization front and
02:51we're
02:52positioning the u.s national committee to be that forum to help that okay so busy week yes it is
02:58thank
02:58you for joining us thank you for the opportunity
