00:00We just spent a couple hours having a great conversation with the folks that are on the front line in
00:07Pennsylvania
00:08battling the drug crisis that we've endured for far too long.
00:15And what we talked about today were some of the successes that we've had
00:19because of this administration's strategy to combat fentanyl
00:23and on the ways we can keep on working together to make sure that our successes continue.
00:29What we're seeing in Pennsylvania is what happens when we work together,
00:37when the Department of Justice and our U.S. attorneys and our federal law enforcement partners,
00:43DEA, FBI, Marshals, ATF, HSI, DHS, work with state and local law enforcement,
00:50and whether it's sheriffs, troopers, police officers, district attorneys,
00:54the great Pennsylvania Attorney General, what we can accomplish for the citizens of this state
01:02in combating the scourge of drugs.
01:06So here in Pennsylvania, just over the past two months,
01:12here's a few highlights of what the Department of Justice has done to combat fentanyl.
01:17There were indictments against four members of a drug organization in the Philadelphia area
01:23that were allegedly selling 1,600 individual bags of fentanyl every single day.
01:31We have gotten, when we catch you, and we will,
01:37we have sentences of a combined 45 years in prison for two co-defendants from Monroe County
01:43convicted of conspiracy to traffic fentanyl, resulting in the death of several individuals.
01:50We had a 17-and-a-half-year prison sentence for an individual from Newcastle
01:54who distributed fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, while he was on federal supervised release
02:00after having his prior drug sentence commuted by President Biden.
02:06Mm-mm.
