00:00Man, I got to say, you know, this Chiefs team, boy, Kenny Walker or Patrick Mahomes,
00:06who's been the most influential part of this start this season for Andy Reid and these Chiefs, man?
00:12He looks like the centerpiece of this team.
00:16Now, look, I get it with Mahomes.
00:17He's the quarterback.
00:18But, man, who do you think has been the most influential guy in this startup for this team this year,
00:24the Chiefs?
00:24Kenny Walker or Patrick Mahomes?
00:27I think you have to go with Kenneth Walker.
00:29Just because he's completely changed how the Chiefs' offense operates.
00:33They've gone from, you know, a unit that's relied almost exclusively on the pass to make it do what it
00:38does.
00:39And now you have Walker coming in there in this run-heavy team.
00:42And he just keeps the chains moving.
00:44And he's making life easy on Patrick Mahomes.
00:46And this is why this signing was so smart for the Chiefs.
00:49You know, Patrick Mahomes was coming off the first major injury of his professional career.
00:54And we have barely talked about that through six weeks because Kenneth Walker has been the centerpiece.
01:00And the Chiefs haven't had to ask Patrick Mahomes to carry this team.
01:04And that is going to be critical down the stretch because at some point the Chiefs are going to want
01:09to lighten Kenneth Walker's workload to get him ready for the playoffs.
01:12When that happens, Mahomes will probably be asked to carry the team a little bit more.
01:17But he'll be that much further removed from the injury.
01:20So it's kind of like this harmonious thing that worked out so well that they're going to be this ground
01:25-dominant team early on.
01:27And then later on, they're going to move to balance.
01:29They're going to get Kenneth Walker the rest he needs for the playoff run.
01:33I really like how they built this offense.
01:35But I would say through six weeks, Kenneth Walker has been the most important player to the Chiefs offense because
01:39they could not operate in the way that they are without him there.
01:44Man, I'll tell you, speaking of, like, not operating here or operating, how about this Chargers team?
01:510-6 on the season.
01:53You know, you and I have talked, man.
01:54I had great expectations for Herbert, for this team, for Mike McDaniels.
01:59I mean, has John Harbaugh, excuse me, has Jim Harbaugh's seat now become hot with this move?
02:07I think it's definitely heating up a little bit.
02:09I think he has more leeway because, you know, he had back-to-back 11-6 seasons with the Chargers.
02:15And as badly as this season has gone, there is a natural scapegoat in just saying, hey, this whole Mike
02:20McDaniel offense did not work out.
02:22So, I think eventually the move is going to be to make a change at coordinator there, whether it comes
02:29in season or later on in the year.
02:31I don't know what will happen there.
02:33But Harbaugh will probably do that to try to save his job and get Herbert playing at a more acceptable
02:38level.
02:39But Herbert this season just, he looks completely lost out there.
02:43I don't know what the deal is with him.
02:44I know it's probably partly offensive fit, but it goes beyond that.
02:48I mean, watching him against the Chiefs, you just felt like he had no chance out there.
02:52And he's too talented of a player for you to watch him play a game and say, man, this guy
02:57just doesn't look like an NFL-caliber quarterback right now.
03:00So, I think the Chargers have some work to do to figure out what's going on with him and how
03:05they can fix it.
03:06But I think the scapegoat right now is shaping up to be McDaniel.
