00:00All right, guys, yesterday was the big day, you know, because of the Monday night matchup.
00:06There was an extra day there before the media really could get their hands on Jaden and some of the
00:10guys again.
00:11And so Jaden took the podium, and I know that our guy Wes back there has audio of it.
00:17For me, I'm just going to summarize it before we get into it.
00:20I think it was good. I feel some closure in it.
00:23I feel like Jaden is finally taking 100% ownership, which I wish he would have done on Sunday.
00:29Even if it's not 100% on him, I don't believe it's 100% on him.
00:32I like that he's just taking it all, and I just feel like I'm at the point now I don't
00:38have to know exactly what happened.
00:41We all know roughly what happened. I don't need to know why.
00:44I trust him it's not going to happen again. Here's Jaden at the podium.
00:49I mean, just going back and reflecting on it and, you know, sitting back,
00:55and ultimately I know it's a lot of he say or whatever to try and make,
01:00but ultimately, like, it's on me at the end of the day.
01:03I know DQ is getting a lot of slack for it or whatever, you know,
01:07but regardless of what happens, I'm the person on the field that's supposed to calm everything, control everything,
01:12and I fell to the standard I hold myself to and the standard in this organization.
01:17So it's just something for me to move on.
01:20I'm not saying I'm proud of it or anything.
01:23Obviously, looking back, like, it could have resulted in a loss.
01:26We tied, but it was a fail in my eyes, and, you know, I know I'm better than that.
01:30I hold myself to a higher standard than that.
01:32So moving forward, I'll grow from it and learn from it and it never happened again.
01:39I liked it.
01:40I mean, I think that's basically the perfect thing.
01:41He's taking ownership of it.
01:42That's what we needed.
01:43That's what we're supposed to do.
01:44Yeah.
01:45I wish he had done it right away.
01:46Right.
01:47And I do blame, you know, Blau and Quinn for certainly a percentage of it,
01:51but that's what the quarterback needs to do, take ownership of it.
01:54I think probably some criticism from some of his colleagues around the league probably hit home with him.
02:01I'm sure as he processed it, it hit home.
02:04He didn't break it down, though, right?
02:05No, he did not break it down.
02:06He's not going to tell you exactly what happened.
02:08What happened, the play call, why it took so long to get to the line,
02:12why he sat on his butt for two seconds.
02:14Did anybody ask him if he thought there was a different overtime period?
02:17I don't think anybody asked any of these questions.
02:20No.
02:20Look, he's ready to put it behind him.
02:22He's not going to tell you exactly the things that he may not even know exactly, you know,
02:28what contributed to it.
02:30But he didn't say, I had a brain fart.
02:32I know I got to throw the ball out of bounds.
02:34No.
02:35I don't need him to at this point.
02:36He was pretty general.
02:36Yeah, I don't need him to, though.
02:38You maybe don't need him to, but I think it would have been nice if he was a little more
02:42specific.
02:43Yeah, sure.
02:44I mean, people want to know everything, detail you can get.
02:46But I listened to that, and I looked at him, and you know how these guys are.
02:50They don't want to keep harping on it, harping on it, harping on it.
02:52The most important thing is to understand why it happened, and I'm sure they do to an extent,
03:00and then it's just never going to happen again.
03:01And I believe that.
03:02I really do believe it.
03:03It was so unique that it's probably never going to happen again anyway.
03:06But I trust him in a two-minute drill.
03:09I'll tell you that.
03:10I trust him.
03:11If that happens again while Dan Quinn is here, which I'm pretty sure it won't, then everybody
03:16should be fired instantly on the spot.
03:18But here's the question.
03:18Every last person.
03:19Do you trust Jaden Daniels in a two-minute drill at the end of the game?
03:23I personally do.
03:24He made a mess up, but he's got a two-and-a-half-year track record here of being pretty
03:31poised in
03:33the moment in stressful situations.
03:36He's not a perfect person, and he's screwed up.
03:39So I was good with it.
03:42Wes, do you have the Kyle Shanahan audio?
03:44I just thought this was interesting because I still get guys like Rom, and if people don't
03:48know who Rom is, he's a guy that used to be on the show, dead to the show now.
03:52Basically dead.
03:53But he constantly still tries to compare Jaden to Robert, and he thinks that he's a one-read
03:59guy.
04:00He can't process that.
04:03He really thinks Jaden...
04:04Rom is still doing that bit?
04:05He must just be doing it with you.
04:07Oh, yeah.
04:07He sends me these texts after games, and he tries to highlight plays like if Jaden makes
04:12a mistake, and he's...
04:13It's classic Rom.
04:14He's just trying to engage...
04:16Rage bait me.
04:16He just wants reaction.
04:17And I don't...
04:18I'm not going to give you a response because it's preposterous, but I did send him this
04:23clip, and this is Kyle Shanahan.
04:25Now, listen.
04:25Kyle Shanahan's not going to trash the opposing quarterback the week they play him.
04:29You always prop him up.
04:30We always understand that.
04:32But I think what Kyle says, I agree with everything the guy says here.
04:36Here's Kyle Shanahan on...
04:38When asked about Jaden Daniels.
04:41You look at him on film, and what makes him tough to defend?
04:43Um, Jaden's...
04:45I mean, since he came in the league until now, I mean, Jaden's got a chance to be one of
04:48the better quarterbacks in this league, without a doubt.
04:51If you take away the running element of him, just how he plays in the pocket, it's so natural
04:57with how accurate he is, how strong his arm is, how poised he is going through a progression,
05:01how fearless he is hanging in there and taking a hit, keeping his eyes down the field.
05:04And when you take that out, um, how scary is just running the ball.
05:09I mean, he's got the speed and the coordination to win games only with his legs.
05:13Um, but if he's a guy, which means you want to keep him in the pocket and not let him
05:17out
05:17because he can beat you with his legs.
05:19However, he's a, he's a very scary quarterback in the pocket, just playing the position.
05:23So he's got all the tools to be as good as there.
05:26Yeah.
05:27So, you know, I agree with all that.
05:29He knows how talented he is.
05:30I don't think anybody disagrees with it.
05:32He's a total threat quarterback.
05:33No, no, no.
05:33No, Rom disagrees.
05:34You know, there are people like Rom.
05:35He's not, he's not a singular person.
05:37I know you don't take him seriously.
05:38So that's.
05:39No, but I just want him to know that he's like an expert.
05:42Yeah.
05:42Completely disagrees.
05:43Right.
05:44Not just me.
05:45I am kind of an expert, but, uh, I'm mostly playing.
05:49Classic Rom behavior.
05:50Oh my God.
05:51Just classic.
05:52So annoying.
05:53Um, all right.
05:54What else do we have?
05:55All right.
05:55So injuries, there's still an issue.
05:57I know the, the, the, uh, 49ers are the most injured team in football.
06:00Jason talked about that, especially when you look at the injury reserve.
06:02Um, but there's still an issue here.
06:05So here's the injury report.
06:06As of yesterday for practice, um, did not practice.
06:11Stefan Diggs did not practice.
06:12Not that doesn't, that's not trending.
06:14Well, cakes, um, bill did not practice.
06:17Got a groin issue.
06:19That's not good.
06:20Uh, also did not practice safety.
06:23Percy Butler, Javante Jean Baptiste didn't practice.
06:27Mariota, of course, still with the knee.
06:29A men of you did not practice.
06:30Tyler Owens did not practice.
06:31So I think you can largely consider most of those guys probably out limited.
06:36All right.
06:37Some guys that were limited.
06:38Traylon Burks, who has had an impact here.
06:41Uh, Austin Eckler.
06:43I don't know what's going on with this.
06:44It says chest, but he pulled a muscle in his chest.
06:47What's going on there?
06:48Jordan McGee, the hamstring.
06:49Quan Martin, uh, sick.
06:51Terry limited.
06:52They're probably still just kind of babying the hamstring.
06:55Fabian Moreau, who did get some work, uh, last week made a couple of plays.
06:59And he and Jeremy Reeves with a rib.
07:03Full participation.
07:04Now this is a little more optimistic, obviously.
07:05I expect most of those guys that were limited to play, um, but full participants, Trey Amos.
07:11That's great.
07:11That's trading in the right direction.
07:13I think you'd probably count on him.
07:15Uh, chase on full, a participant, Nick cross, full participant, Ken law, McNichols, a full
07:22participant could see him, especially with bill being out, could see him being activated.
07:27Uh, Rashad white, uh, with the shoulder.
07:30And of course, Jaden full go after his return last week.
07:35So, all right.
07:36So we've got some positives.
07:37There are some positives out there, but that, that doesn't look good.
07:40I know that, um, commander's wire, uh, there's a writer over there, Serena Burks.
07:45I was reading her piece that she did tried to come up with some reasons, three reasons
07:50for optimism, right?
07:52It's a tall task.
07:53Not sure if I've seen many, uh, 13.9% predictors on ESPN.
08:00I've been tracking that for a long time.
08:01Those usually come through.
08:02I don't know how accurate they are.
08:04I've just never seen one that low.
08:05I think the Rams Cardinals game is even lower this week.
08:08Right.
08:08So, well, from, from a Washington perspective, that's about as low as I've seen.
08:12Um, they have the commanders winning this game 86% of the time, according to whatever
08:16analytics they put in their model, um, the 49ers went, I'm sorry.
08:20What did I say?
08:21Commanders.
08:22So they have the commanders winning 13.9% of the time and their model.
08:26Uh, but if you want to, if you want to think positive, obviously the Jaden return and the
08:33way he's played, as JP talked about yesterday and we all watched over the last game and a
08:38half, that first half against Dallas before, you know, the, the dislocation.
08:42And then in the comeback last week before the final minute, I mean, pretty, pretty great.
08:48Right.
08:49Looks like Jaden Daniels again.
08:50So that gives, anytime Jaden is, is reasonably healthy and upright, I think it does give us
08:55a chance.
08:56I believe that probably better than a 13% chance, frankly.
08:59Um, Washington continuing to create turnovers.
09:03Now they haven't capitalized on it.
09:04Like they did, uh, what was it in that Seahawk game, but it's what three, three games in a
09:09row now where they've been really, uh, multiple turnovers they've created.
09:13So that's good.
09:15Um, and then I think as you guys have kind of alluded to the 49ers, while they are undefeated,
09:22they have been pushed in some games.
09:25I mean, uh, they beat Denver by a score of just 24 to 14.
09:31They beat the Cardinals in a close game, 36 to 30.
09:35Uh, you know, they, they just beat the Seahawks by three.
09:38So they're not, you know, they went to Seattle.
09:41That's a good one.
09:41That's a great win.
09:42Okay.
09:43Yeah.
09:43But you know, it's not like they're just smoking everybody by 15 shows.
09:47Our defense is gettable too.
09:49You mentioned the turnovers.
09:50The commanders are tied with Jacksonville and Kansas city at plus five.
09:54The only team better Minnesota at plus six.
09:57So remember for the, through the first two weeks, that was a real big talking point.
10:00They weren't able to create any, um, but they've been on a little bit of a tear and,
10:05and you know what?
10:06To DQ's credit, he said they were close.
10:08He said, remember the little metrics and all the balls they're touching and everything that
10:12they're close.
10:13And he's been right.
10:14Now the, the, the key is you have to capitalize on it.
10:16Purdy's hard to turn over though.
10:18So, well, it may not intercept him, but you know, maybe you could punch one out on McCaffrey
10:23or punch one out on one of these receivers.
10:25I've never seen more punching out than we see today in 2026.
10:30You also see missed punches too.
10:32Guys just flailing.
10:33Like instead of going for a tackle, they're trying to punch the ball out.
10:36And then the ball carrier gets another three to five yards.
10:39I agree.
10:40It's not, it's not ideal.
10:41It's not ideal, but, uh, those guys jar it loose.
10:44There's definitely a decent amount of time.
10:45It's something that defensive coordinators have clearly stressed to their players.
10:50Yeah.
10:50I'm a little more optimistic than the ESPN matchup predictor.
10:54I would double it and give them maybe like a 30% chance, but look, we had Warren Sharp
10:57on the show.
10:58He gave him a four out of four or five out of 10 on possibility.
11:02I do think teams, we know they're not going to go undefeated.
11:06Teams have let down games.
11:08We always talk about trap games.
11:09I'm just, we, we talk about games where they look past an opponent and they're looking
11:13to future.
11:13But I actually didn't see who does San Francisco play the next week.
11:16They're not doing the look ahead.
11:17They're not doing the look ahead.
11:19They're not doing the look ahead.
11:20Kyle Shanahan.
11:20Yeah.
11:21They're not doing the look.
11:21That doesn't happen.
11:21I don't think they're doing the look ahead.
11:22Especially when it's on Monday night.
11:24You know, I think Washington with the Jaden Daniels factor can possibly pull it off.
11:30Yeah.
11:30I don't think it's likely, but I think it's possible.
11:33It's definitely possible.
11:34I think it's better than 14%.
11:36Yeah.
11:36I agree with you.
11:37I think that.
11:38I would put it at maybe 30%.
11:39I think they have about a 10% chance to win.
11:41I'm not very optimistic.
11:43Cakes is, man.
11:44Yeah, it doesn't look good.
11:45Your 11 win prediction is not looking good, huh?
11:47It's not looking great.
11:49I'd like to alter it if I could.
11:51What would you alter to right now?
11:52I wish I had done it in pencil instead of pen.
11:54You would alter it to seven.
11:56Yeah, probably six, maybe seven wins.
11:58Yeah.
11:59And I don't know where the six or seven are going to come from.
12:01Well, let's see.
12:02On the defensive side, San Francisco, one of the better players on the defensive side of the ball is Dre
12:08Greenlaw.
12:08He will not be there because he was suspended.
12:10That's encouraging.
12:11He was stupid and head-butted somebody that wasn't wearing a helmet.
12:14And then Nick Bosa hasn't played pretty much all year, and he's battling a calf injury.
12:18I don't think he's practiced or maybe he's limited this week.
12:21I see still him listed as questionable.
12:23Yeah, they thought he possibly could come back for this, but he's a toss-up.
12:28I'd just be afraid of the fact that with all of their receivers injured, then they have to lean more
12:33into CMC and even more scary, Kittle, against this defense.
12:37Yeah, they've got to do something about that.
12:39They can't handle tight ends.
12:40Kittle's looked really good coming off the Achilles injury, and I just feel like he's going to get a bunch
12:44of balls thrown his way,
12:45and he's going to kind of have his way with this defense.
12:47He's probably going to have double-digit targets.
12:51I mean, I would think.
12:52He and Mike Evans will have double-digit targets.
12:54Can I be – it's unusual for me, but can I try to be a crazy optimist?
12:59Please.
13:00So let's just say, though, that we play the Niners tight but lose.
13:05I think that's reasonable.
13:06You play them and you fight.
13:08It's certainly possible.
13:10So you'd be 1-4-1.
13:111-4-1, not great.
13:12But, you know, the Eagles are banged up, as we know.
13:15Gettable.
13:16The Rams aren't playing at a level that anybody thought, so that's a little bit more gettable than you thought.
13:21Plus, they'll be coming off a bye.
13:22The Giants, very beatable.
13:25I mean, the Bengals, they're doing okay, but Cardinals, tight.
13:31There's a stretch here where this actually could be a run after this Niners game.
13:36There's actually a stretch here if they stay healthy.
13:39I think you're awful optimistic on the Rams.
13:41I understand the Rams haven't fulfilled expectations thus far, but they've been close.
13:48I think the Rams are ready to take off.
13:51And the biggest thing that I see is the Rams and the Bengals, in particular, the two teams that you
13:55talked about.
13:56I can't see our secondary stopping those receivers.
13:59I mean, it's horrible matchups.
14:00It's the worst matchups ever.
14:01No, you'd have to win shootouts.
14:02I mean...
14:03You'd have to win shootouts and sack the quarterback a bunch.
14:04The Giants, who have a weak offense, expose them basically with two players, Likely and Neighbors.
14:11So how are the commanders going to stop the firepower of Puka and Devontae Adams and the firepower of Jamar
14:18Chase and T. Higgins?
14:21I don't know.
14:21I don't think they will.
14:22They're not going to.
14:23I don't think they will, but they just tied the Giants with all those guys.
14:26I mean, Neighbors and Likely had like 50 catches between the two of them.
14:30I know.
14:30My point is the Giants are inferior to those teams.
14:35Yeah, but those two receivers...
14:38Yeah, but you said you're speaking specifically about like the receiving threats.
14:42So those guys had their way against us, and we still, frankly, should have won the game.
14:46Right, but those guys are going to do even more damage is my point.
14:49They're going to do more than 12 catches.
14:51They're going to have more than 30 catches.
14:52Puka, Adams, and Higby at tight end.
14:55That is a crazy...
14:57You think they'll actually produce more than Likely and Neighbors did against us?
15:01You do?
15:02Okay.
15:02That trio, I think, will.
15:04Yes.
15:04I do, too.
15:05I mean, Puka could have 15 catches.
15:06All right, let's put that down.
15:07Puka could have 15 catches.
15:08He had 17 catches last week.
15:10Okay, so let's just see if that actually happens.
15:13So those two guys had 22 catches between the two of them.
15:16I'd think they're going to score more points.
15:18The team will score more points.
15:21Have it over 22?
15:21Yes.
15:22Okay.
15:23I'll bet $2 on it.
15:24Puka might have all 22.
15:26That's pretty impossible.
15:28But just to try to be optimistic, yeah, I'll take a bet.
15:31Okay, sure.
15:32$2.
15:32I see where you're going.
15:33I see where you're going, and we just kind of look...
15:36Like, it's not as formidable as it looks.
15:38Like you said, you kind of have to win shootouts, because defensively, you're not going to shut
15:41these guys down.
15:42You're not going to win 10-7.
15:42You're not going to win 10-7.
