00:11Thank you, Mayor Rich. Hello to all you beautiful groups of Democrats and Independents and even
00:19some sane Republicans out there. Thank you for the beautiful weather. I was in Washington recently
00:30where it was stifling because it's not just the heat, it's the stupidity. And you can cut with a
00:38knife. I've been amazed. I've been all over your beautiful state the last several days. And I was
00:45traveling with your ex-Congresswoman from the 1st District, Callie Barr, in the Upper Peninsula.
00:55And then I was in the 4th District with the ex-Congressman from Sean McCann.
01:03And I noticed, I couldn't help but notice the beauty of your state, the sunshine of your state,
01:10the weather, the incredible beaches at Lake Michigan. And my first question for Abdul is,
01:19why did Mike Rogers move to Florida?
01:30I mean, I was in Saugatuck and that was pretty beautiful there. You know,
01:36you guys have it all going on here. And Michigan is at the crossroads of the 2026 elections, which is
01:44why I felt so, I felt it was so important to come and be with you guys here. You know,
01:51we're just
01:53three seats behind in the U.S. House of Representatives. And we can win all three of those
02:00new seats right here in Michigan.
02:08You can give us the majority in the House. And if you elect Abdul, you will give us the majority
02:14in the U.S. Senate too.
02:22In this momentous election, between democracy and freedom on one side, and
02:28autocracy and corruption on the other side, I am proud to be here in Michigan to award your next
02:37senator, Abdul Sayed. And we need Abdul in the Senate because he's an epidemiologist at a time of
02:51rampant disease, like measles from Texas to Pennsylvania, where two people died just yesterday.
02:58He's a public health specialist and expert at a time when the Secretary of Health and Human Services is
03:07Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
03:13Abdul is the former director of the Department of Health and Human Services of Wayne County.
03:18He's a public health authority who got free eyeglasses to Detroit public school children.
03:31He got led out of the public schools. He is the senator we need to lead the fight in the
03:38Senate
03:39against all of the insurance companies' special interests in order to get Medicare for all passed
03:46in the United States of America.
03:55health care must be a basic human rights for every citizen in America and not a high price luxury for
04:04the wealthy. It belongs to everybody.
04:10You know, we're spending more on health care than any country in the world, $15,000 per person, and we're
04:19getting worse outcomes in terms of life expectancy, in terms of infant and maternal mortality, in terms of chronic illness.
04:28And so, Abdul, I'm counting on you to get to the Senate and turn this around and start to make
04:36progress again for our people.
04:46That's what this election is about.
04:49Now, one party, our party, says the government must be an instrument for the common good and the public well
04:57-being for every person in the country.
05:00And the other party says the government is an instrument for the private self-enrichment of one guy and his
05:08family and his businesses and the corruption of the government.
05:12It's time for us to take America back from MAGA.
05:28You know, thank you.
05:31My friends, I've traveled all over America now.
05:35I think this is my 21st, 22nd state that I've been on this tour.
05:39And I've got to tell you, I'm proud to be a Democrat right now.
05:43I've never been prouder to be a Democrat than I am right now.
05:47You know, sometimes our colleagues across the aisle, like my friend Lauren, they've got a hard time correctly pronouncing the
05:56name of our party in its adjectival form.
05:59So they'll say, you know, that Democrat congresswoman and the Democrat party and that Democrat bill.
06:05And for nine years, I got up and I, like a gentleman, not as a gentleman, but like a gentleman,
06:12like a gentleman, I would gently correct them.
06:15I'd say, actually, Democrat is the noun.
06:20Democratic is the adjective.
06:22You've got to say the Democratic party, the Democratic congresswoman, the Democratic bill.
06:29And as soon as I did that, they knew it was getting on my nerves.
06:33So then all of them chimed in, Chip, Roy, Jim, Jordan, Johnson, all of them were then Democrat this, Democrat
06:41that, and so on.
06:42And I made a very rookie error.
06:44In politics, you're not supposed to lose your temper unless you plan to lose your temper.
06:49But I actually just kind of lost my temper.
06:51And I got up and I said, you know what?
06:54You guys have this self-imposed political speech impediment.
06:59And it's contagious.
07:00It's coming over to my side.
07:02Now, when I try to say the name of your party, it just comes out the banana Republican party with
07:08the banana Republican gun.
07:10And so I went home and I told my wife.
07:15And I was like, Sarah, I finally got them back after nine years.
07:17And I told her the whole story.
07:18And you know what she said?
07:19She said, that was an extremely immature response.
07:23Okay?
07:24Extremely immature.
07:25And the lucky thing is I was reading this fantastic book I recommend highly to you guys by H.W.
07:34Brand, The Texas Historian.
07:35And it's about Franklin D. Roosevelt.
07:37And it's called Traitor to His Class.
07:40Traitor to His Class.
07:41And I learned something remarkable from that book.
07:43Which is FDR did not call our party the Democratic Party.
07:47Much less the Democrat Party.
07:50You know what he called us?
07:51They exposed it.
07:53Historians did with a capital D.
07:56He called us the democracy.
08:00The democracy.
08:01So he'd say, well, the economic royalists, the plutocrats, say it's enough to invest in the wealthiest corporations in America
08:10and then let some of the wealth dribble down on everybody else.
08:15But FDR said, democracy says, invest in the great American working middle class.
08:22We will all rise and prosper together.
08:26That's the doctrine of the democracy, said FDR.
08:29So now, if they can't pronounce the name of our party correctly, just say, just do what we did.
08:38Call us the democracy.
08:40Because that's what we are today.
08:41We're the only party that's willing to stand up for your right to vote, even if you're not going to
08:46vote for us.
08:47How about that?
08:49We're the only party that will stand by the outcome of free and fair elections and not try to overthrow
08:56them with violent insurrections and coups against democracy.
09:01We are the democracy.
09:03We are the democracy.
09:03And we're going to stand strong for the democracy.
09:05And we're going to stand strong for our freedom.
09:10And now there's a big effort to divide us.
09:13Look at the beautiful diversity in this room.
09:18Let's hear it for Farmington Hills.
09:21You know, they're trying to divide us.
09:26Have you noticed this?
09:28They're trying to divide us.
09:30And one of my colleagues said he's a pretty good guy.
09:34He left early.
09:35He's a Republican.
09:36He left Congress early when he could read the writing on the wall.
09:40A lot of the good Republicans left when they could see what was happening.
09:44And the other ones have been kicked out of their party, like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger and Mitt Romney.
09:49They've driven them out.
09:51It's a cult of personality now.
09:53So they're trying to pick on disagreements in our party, try to exacerbate conflict.
09:58And he said, yeah, because we have freedom of thought in our party.
10:02And freedom of speech in our party.
10:04And freedom of dialogue, right?
10:09And he said, Raskin, you're not a bad guy.
10:11The problem with you is you're a liberal.
10:13And I said, you're damn right I'm a liberal.
10:15The heart of that word is liberty.
10:18And I said, I'm a progressive.
10:21Because the heart of that word is progress.
10:23But these days, my very favorite thing to call myself is a conservative.
10:29Because I want to conserve the land, the air, the water, the climate system, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights,
10:38Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, the Voting Rights Act, the Civil Rights Act, the National Labor Relations
10:48Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act.
10:51Everything that their party of nihilists and authoritarians want to destroy is everything we're going to defend.
10:59The liberals, the progressives, the conservatives together, we will defeat the autocrats, the plutocrats, the theocrats, and the kleptocrats.
11:23Well, look, my friends, Michigan's about to make history.
11:32Michigan's getting to the center of this election, taking back the House.
11:38And I can feel victory written all over this campaign.
11:48And on the ballot, not just in Michigan, but all over America, is a very simple proposition.
11:57That, well, I've sounded maybe a little bit partisan today.
12:01Forgive me.
12:01Maybe I'll invoke, I'll sound a bipartisan note by invoking our last great Republican president, Abraham Lincoln, who spoke of
12:15government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
12:19Thank you, President Lincoln, for your beautiful vision and your courage and devotion to this country.
12:25It's not Abraham Lincoln's party anymore.
12:29And he founded the party, and Donald Trump is destroying that party.
12:34And we can't save them from themselves.
12:37But we can certainly save American democracy and freedom.
12:43That's our job.
12:45My friend, I'm going to leave you with the words, two great democracy patriots I've carried all across the country
12:54with me.
12:55One, Frederick Douglass, who was born 25 minutes away from my house on the Y River Plateau.
13:01He was born into slavery.
13:02He escaped from slavery to become our great freedom fighter through the Civil War and through Reconstruction.
13:08Douglass said, if there's no struggle, there's no progress.
13:12And the struggle may be moral, it may be physical, it may be moral, and physical, but there must be.
13:19There's nothing without a demand.
13:20It never has, and it never will.
13:23A message to you from the great people of Maryland, the free states.
13:28And I'll leave you finally with the words of Tom Paine, who arrived here in 1774.
13:35The great Tom Paine, who my friend Tommy was named after.
13:39And Paine got here two years before the American Revolution.
13:43And he fell in love with the promise of our country.
13:46He said, if this land gives up to its values and its ideals, he said, it will become an asylum
13:53to humanity.
13:55Not an insane asylum, but a place of refuge for people seeking freedom from political, religious, intellectual, economic discrimination and
14:07oppression from all over the world.
14:10And then Tom Paine wrote the great pamphlet of our history.
14:13Common sense, by which he meant the sense we have in common when we're willing to reason together without dogma
14:21and superstition, what we would call today propaganda, disinformation, fake news.
14:27And that pamphlet ignited the American Revolution.
14:30George Washington had the troops reading common sense every night by campfire light at Valley Forge.
14:37But 1776 was a tough year.
14:40We like to think that all of America was together against King George and for independence.
14:47But it wasn't like that.
14:48You got to read this other book by H.W. Brand called The First Civil War, about how the revolution
14:54was like a civil war because it split the country in half.
14:58Ben Franklin's son, the governor of New Jersey, went to jail for siding with the king.
15:03And half the people running around saying you can't beat the greatest military empire that ever existed with the greatest
15:10navy that ever existed.
15:11You can't disentangle church and state and give the freedom of thought and the freedom of conscience.
15:17It won't work.
15:19And then half the people were saying, well, let's give it a try.
15:23Let's gamble on the proposition of equality and freedom and democracy for everybody.
15:29Let's pledge to each other our lives, our property, our sacred honor for the proposition all of us are created
15:40equal.
15:40And we all have an unalienable rights.
15:45Well, Payne wanted to write another pamphlet to give people hope and courage to get through the struggle.
15:53Because he remarked upon himself, you know, the forces of democracy, a little more unruly, a little more disorganized.
16:01You never run around saying what's the message and who's the messenger and all that stuff.
16:05And Payne wanted to give people a sense of resolution and conviction in what they were doing.
16:12And so he wrote this pamphlet called The American Crisis.
16:14And I'm going to quote a little passage for you.
16:16And I'm just going to update it to strict instructions from Nancy Pelosi,
16:20who told me that Tom Payne was a feminist and he wouldn't mind.
16:25And he was fighting for women's voting rights in the 1870s.
16:28He was an abolitionist then, too.
16:30But Tom Payne wrote this.
16:32He said, these are the times that try men and women's souls.
16:36The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will shrink at this moment from the service of their cause and their
16:44country.
16:44But everyone that stands with us now will win the love and the favor and the affection of every man
16:51and every woman for all time.
16:54Tyranny like hell is not easily conquered.
16:58But we have this saving consolation.
17:01The more difficult the struggle, the more glorious in the end will be our victory.
17:06Let's make that victory ours starting right here in Michigan with Abdul.
17:28Thank you very much.
17:36Thank you very much.
17:49Good evening, Farmington Hills!
17:53Oh my goodness.
18:08All right, y'all, let's remind them what we're about.
18:10Money out of?
18:11Money in your?
18:13Medicare for?
18:17Money in your pocket.
18:19Medicare for?
18:20So I know we have new friends here, so I'm going to teach you about another thing.
18:25Our whole thing is money out of politics, money in your pocket, and Medicare for?
18:32All right.
18:33We're going to do it one more time because I think there are some folks who are like,
18:36what are you saying?
18:37Money out of?
18:39Money in your pocket.
18:41Medicare for?
18:43There it is.
18:46It's good to have new friends.
18:49I'm able to be with you all.
18:51Again, thank you to our incredible Mayor, Teresa Rich.
18:54Thank you so much for your support.
18:55Thank you, Teresa.
19:12I'm so happy, so excited to be here with you all.
19:14I didn't grow up too far from here.
19:18Ten minutes up Orchard Lake.
19:23Another little left there on Brooklyn, and you're basically at my house.
19:29And so I'm honored to be back in Oakland County, honored to be back with all of you.
19:33My name is Abdullah Sayed.
19:35And with a name like mine, I knew I was never supposed to go for office.
19:38That was not part of my life's plan.
19:40I wanted to be a doctor.
19:42I wanted to be a doctor because I could go 15 hours to my family's native Egypt,
19:47or I could go 15 minutes from where we are right now.
19:52And either way, we cross a 10-year difference in life expectancy.
19:56It doesn't matter where you grow up.
19:59It doesn't matter what you or your parents do for work.
20:02It doesn't matter the color of your skin.
20:03You deserve a long, healthy life in these United States of America.
20:11Now, I went to medical school to learn how to heal.
20:16Right there, I got some really bad advice on my last day at the University of Michigan.
20:21Go blue.
20:23Hey, we could go green too as long as we don't go red.
20:27But also go blue.
20:30I was the valedictorian of my class,
20:33and I was selected to give the student commencement speech at the University,
20:37which was a real honor.
20:38Except for nobody went to go listen to me that day, including my own parents.
20:42They all went to go listen to the main speaker,
20:44a certain gentleman by the name of Bill Clinton.
20:47So I give my speech, President Clinton gives his speech,
20:50and he calls me out in his speech.
20:51He really liked the speech.
20:53And he comes back to me after the speech is over.
20:57And he looks at me, he does his Bill Clinton thing.
20:59Son, why are you going to medical school?
21:05Which, by the way, is not a question anybody asks you when you're going to medical school.
21:09And the first thing that came to my mind was,
21:10I'm brown and Muslim.
21:11That's what we do.
21:13But also, I love people and I love science.
21:14And this is how I want to serve.
21:16That's great, but you've got a gift for communicating.
21:18Maybe someday you're one for office.
21:21I said, that's really nice of you to say.
21:25But also, did you see my name?
21:29Abdul, just a half of it.
21:32There's a whole other part.
21:33And that's just the first one.
21:34There are two others after that.
21:36And they all got sounds that come out of parts of people's throats.
21:39Most people don't know they have.
21:41People like me don't get to run for office.
22:02So here's the thing about it.
22:04That was 2007.
22:06Y'all know what happened in 2008.
22:08Our state helped elect a guy named Barack Hussein Obama to the presidency.
22:16And it was the first time I ever saw myself in a politician.
22:21I was like, his dad immigrated from Africa.
22:26My dad immigrated from a different place, Africa.
22:30He had mixed parents.
22:31I was raised by my dad and my stepmom, Jackie,
22:34who's a daughter of the American Revolution from the middle of the state.
22:38He's got a funny name.
22:40I got a funny name.
22:42He's tall and skinny.
22:44I'm short and thick.
22:48Anyway, I went off to medical school to learn how to heal,
22:52only to realize that too often our health care system is not just not part of the solution.
22:56It's part of the problem.
22:59And I realized I was learning to ask and answer two questions.
23:03What's wrong and how can I help?
23:04And too often the answer to what was wrong had less to do with all the physiology.
23:08I've been studying a lot more to do with pathologies in our politics.
23:11The air we breathe, the water we drink,
23:13whether we can walk in the community without being the victim of somebody's violence.
23:16You can see a doctor if you get sick in the first place.
23:19And I realized I want to be part of solving those problems.
23:22So when we all graduated medical school, and never mind what you heard, I did graduate medical school.
23:29Doesn't that make you a doctor?
23:32I mean, I did a PhD too, but they don't want to count either of them.
23:39I realized I wanted to be a part of solving those society problems.
23:42So I went into public health, got the opportunity to rebuild Detroit's health department after it was shut down,
23:47when the state came through and forced it into emergency management.
23:52Shut down a 185-year-old health department in a state with a higher infant mortality rate than my father's
23:57native Egypt.
23:59Got to leave Wayne County's Department of Health, Human, and Veteran Services.
24:03Across our work, we thought outside the box about what public health was supposed to do and be.
24:08We built a program when we found that 30% of our kids would be tested positive for needing glasses,
24:14only to test positive again next year.
24:17Meaning we knew they needed them, but never got a pair.
24:20So we put optometrists on vans outside of schools, so kids could get an immediate optometric exam,
24:27and we could deliver the glasses they needed, one pair to school and one pair to their home.
24:32That program's done 50,000 pairs of glasses across the state of Michigan.
24:36We brought it here in the first place.
24:40We took on some of the biggest corporate polluters in our state.
24:45Marathon Petroleum wanted to raise their emissions of sulfur dioxide.
24:48We were able to invest their own money to reduce emissions when they had wanted to increase them.
24:54After every school, daycare, and headstart, tested for lead in the water.
24:58Now, we put Narcan in a hundred different locations, built programs to provide free health insurance for new small businesses.
25:14When we found that our county ranked number eight for medical debt nationwide,
25:18we realized we could eliminate it for a penny on the dollar.
25:20Set aside $7 million to erase up to $700 million of medical debt for 300,000 families.
25:32Now, I'm never going to forget that day, sitting in my office,
25:36when this administration, Donald Trump and his goons, decided to freeze federal funds.
25:41Y'all remember that?
25:43And I'm sitting there, trying to figure out how to make sure WIC checks go out next week.
25:48How to make sure our federally qualified health centers don't get shut down.
25:51How to make sure that vaccines keep going in arms.
25:54When I get a notification on my phone that after his two terms in the U.S. Senate,
25:59our current Senator Gary Peters is retiring and not seeking re-election.
26:05And I...
26:10There's the fight for the public's health now.
26:15I mean, if I were to be elected, I'd be the first Democratic doctor elected to the U.S. Senate
26:20since 1969.
26:23First ever public health official elected to the U.S. Senate.
26:26And if you've ever wondered why RFK Jr. runs public health for this country,
26:29I think we all could agree we probably need a public health senator right about now.
26:38But y'all know, this is not my first rodeo.
26:43I ran for governor back in 2018.
26:45Look, thank you, appreciate you.
26:50Look, I had bad advice from a former president.
26:53I said, you know what, I'm going to go big or go home.
26:55I went big, I went home.
27:00But I said something in that race folks weren't quite ready to hear,
27:03which is that Donald Trump is not himself the disease of our politics.
27:06He's just the worst symptom of the disease of our politics.
27:10The disease
27:13is the way we allow big corporations and billionaires
27:17and special interests to buy and sell politicians
27:19in ways that leave them rigging the system against us.
27:21We pay more for all we have to buy,
27:24get paid less for all
27:27the work we do
27:28and watch as our tax dollars get spent on stupid things like war
27:31rather than invested in schools
27:33and health care and infrastructure here at home.
27:37So this campaign
27:40has three goals
27:41and you all already know what they are.
27:42We want money out of
27:44money in your
27:46Medicare for
27:47and that is exactly
27:49the goal we set off to accomplish
27:51back in April of 2025.
27:54Started in rooms of five people
27:56and then 50 people
27:56and then 500 people
27:57and now 800 people
27:58in Farmington Hills.
28:05But we were having the conversations
28:07that are at the core of democracy.
28:08Who are we and who do we want to be?
28:11Those are the two questions
28:13we all ask ourselves.
28:14Who are we?
28:15Who do we want to be?
28:17This campaign has taken us all over the state.
28:20530 public events
28:21and counting 110 different cities.
28:23No matter where I go
28:24people say the same thing
28:25it just shouldn't be this hard.
28:27Shouldn't be this hard to afford your groceries.
28:29Shouldn't be this hard to pay your rent.
28:30Shouldn't be this hard
28:31in the richest most powerful country in the world
28:33to see a doctor.
28:35Shouldn't be this hard
28:36to pay your taxes
28:37and know that that money
28:38is not going to be used
28:39to destroy somebody else
28:40or their kids
28:41and be spent here
28:42to invest in you and your own.
28:46Shouldn't be this hard.
28:47And we've got an opportunity
28:49in this race
28:49to go and win the future
28:51that we need and deserve.
28:53To answer that question
28:54who are we
28:55and who do we want to be
28:55and the contrast
28:56couldn't be clear.
28:58Mike Rogers is a guy
29:00who spent 14 years in Congress.
29:02Took 5 million dollars
29:05from corporations
29:06to run his campaigns.
29:08A million alone
29:09from the pharmaceutical industry.
29:12voted 19 times
29:14to raise prescription drug prices.
29:16ARC directed legislation
29:17to put opioids
29:19further into our streets
29:20as we knew
29:21that we were already
29:22facing an epidemic.
29:24And that's just
29:25on the healthcare front.
29:28Contrast that
29:29with a doctor
29:30who rebuilt
29:30a health department
29:31eliminated up to
29:32700 million dollars
29:33in medical debt
29:33and put Narcan
29:34in 100 locations for free.
29:41This is a guy
29:42who has taken money
29:45put it into politics
29:46to take money
29:47out our pockets.
29:48If he had his drugs
29:49he'd have Medicare for none.
29:51We're trying to get
29:53money out of politics
29:54put money in your pocket
29:55and pass Medicare for all.
29:56The contrast
29:57couldn't be clearer.
29:58And I just want to point
29:59to two issues right now
29:59that we're dealing with.
30:01Number one
30:03as hard as he tries
30:05as hard as he tries
30:06this guy wants to pretend
30:08like he never met
30:09Donald Trump.
30:11I don't know who that is.
30:12Who's that?
30:14And Donald Trump
30:16because he can't resist
30:17the red meat
30:18can't seem to keep
30:19my name out of his mouth.
30:23Habibi
30:23if you can't say the name
30:24don't say the name.
30:32Abdul
30:33Abdul
30:36Why do you want to say it
30:37like that man?
30:37That's creepy.
30:39Abdul
30:41Holds on to the L
30:41a little too long.
30:43Oh, Abdul
30:49You know
30:50Natalie's going to show him
30:51this clip
30:51and he's going to be so mad.
31:01Abdul
31:05Try Abdul
31:06Try Abdul
31:12Trump can't help
31:14but make this
31:15about him.
31:16He tries to make
31:16everything about him.
31:17And Mike Rogers
31:18out here being like
31:19no, it's about me.
31:20I'm like
31:20nothing's ever been about you.
31:23Bro
31:25nothing has ever been
31:26about you.
31:27But
31:28I do want to talk
31:29talk about him
31:32because
31:33for a long time
31:35he opposed
31:35Donald Trump.
31:36You probably saw him
31:37on CNN.
31:38He was out there
31:39talking about how bad
31:40Donald Trump was
31:41and how dangerous
31:42Donald Trump was
31:42and then all of a sudden
31:43his life in Florida
31:44his two yachts
31:45weren't enough
31:46and he said
31:46you know maybe
31:47I can get
31:47while the getting's good
31:48I'm going to move
31:49back to Michigan.
31:51Maybe I get a third yacht
31:52if I do enough
31:54bootlicking
31:54for some corporation
31:55maybe I'll get there too.
31:56So he decides
31:57to run for U.S. Senate
31:58and all of a sudden
31:59the story changes.
32:02Donald Trump
32:03could do no wrong.
32:05Donald Trump
32:05had the 2020 election
32:07stolen from him.
32:10Donald Trump
32:11never seen
32:12a better leader.
32:13Just a master class.
32:15You know what he said?
32:16He said
32:17that Canadian tariffs
32:18were a master class.
32:19Now listen
32:20we're from Michigan
32:21we know Canadians.
32:22Canadians are the only
32:23people in the world
32:24who preemptively
32:25apologize
32:26for not having done anything.
32:32You've got to be
32:32some kind of punk
32:34to pick up
32:34trade war
32:35with Canadians.
32:36I already apologized.
32:40And here we are
32:41but the thing about it
32:41is no laughing matter.
32:43$3,200
32:43is what we already pay
32:45because
32:46of the tariffs.
32:47And now
32:47he's slapping
32:48another 50%
32:50tariff
32:50on top of that.
32:51Who do you think
32:52pays for a tariff?
32:53Now Donald Trump
32:54doesn't understand economics.
32:55Again he
32:56you know
32:57you get money
32:58from daddy
32:59become a nepo baby
33:00and then all of a sudden
33:00you think you're
33:01some kind of like
33:01you know
33:02master businessman.
33:04But
33:05here's how a tariff works.
33:07When you slap a tariff
33:08we pay for it.
33:10We pay for it.
33:11And there's no coherence
33:12to this tariff.
33:14There are a set of tariffs
33:15I could
33:15you know
33:15understand
33:16okay you want to
33:17protect American jobs
33:18you want to protect
33:19American manufacturing
33:20alright
33:20I could get down
33:21with those tariffs.
33:22These tariffs
33:23are simply about his ego.
33:25And he wants us
33:27to have to pay for them.
33:30And Mike Rogers
33:31is going to do nothing
33:33but rubber stamp it.
33:35He literally
33:36wants to rubber stamp
33:38a policy
33:39that he knows
33:40makes no sense
33:42to kowtow to the ego
33:44of Donald Trump.
33:46That's where we are
33:47right now.
33:48And the thing about
33:49Mike Rogers
33:50which makes him
33:52so much more
33:53frustrating
33:54is that he knows
33:54better.
33:56So
33:57is one thing
33:58to be an idiot
33:59is another entirely
34:01to be
34:03so
34:06small
34:06as a human being
34:08as to know
34:09the other person
34:10is an idiot
34:10and do what they want
34:11anyway
34:12because all you want
34:13is power.
34:22there's being dumb
34:23and then there's
34:24being cowardly
34:26and I can't blame
34:27somebody for being dumb
34:28like Donald Trump
34:29was born with
34:29what he had
34:30you know what I mean
34:30like you know
34:33but cowardice
34:35cowardice
34:36is unforgivable.
34:38Now we challenge
34:39him to five debates
34:41how many do you
34:41think he's agreed to?
34:43He's agreed to one.
34:46Those four debates
34:47that's cowardice
34:48you hear me?
34:49Cowardice.
34:51Anytime
34:52anywhere
34:52on any issue
34:53in any moment
34:54you name it
34:55I'm happy to debate you.
34:57I'll debate you
34:57in your house
34:58in Florida
34:58if you want to.
35:14we've got a clear
35:15opportunity
35:16in November
35:19the only reason
35:21that Donald Trump
35:22and J.D. Vance
35:23and all of these folks
35:24are coming after me
35:25is because
35:26they want to deny you
35:28and I'm going to finish here
35:29I'm so proud
35:31to be from Michigan
35:31born and raised
35:38and they'll say
35:40Abdul can't win
35:41his name is Abdul
35:43his whole name is
35:44Abdul Rahman Mohammed
35:45the Sayyid
35:45how?
35:47in the state
35:47that elected
35:48Barack Hussein Obama
35:52they're going to try
35:53and paint me
35:55as being some
35:55kind of radical
35:57not from here
35:58you heard it
35:58dangerous
36:00I mean if you're
36:00Donald Trump
36:01I am dangerous
36:04and
36:06when they say
36:07I can't win
36:07it doesn't bother me
36:09because it's actually
36:10not about me
36:11I've been a guy
36:12named Abdul
36:12in Michigan
36:13almost my whole life
36:14I'd say I'm pretty good
36:15at being an Abdul
36:16in Michigan
36:17and as an Abdul
36:18in Michigan
36:19I've gotten to know
36:21this state
36:21I've traveled the state
36:22twice in campaigns
36:25when they say
36:26I can't win
36:27they're not talking
36:28about me
36:29they're talking about you
36:30and that's the part
36:31that pisses me off
36:33because I remember
36:34being a junior
36:35in high school
36:37on 9-11
36:38I remember that
36:40emotion
36:41of watching
36:42our country
36:42be attacked
36:44and then
36:45having to deal
36:46with the fact
36:47that people
36:47were blaming
36:48me for it
36:50I was a junior
36:51in high school
36:52in my high school
36:52class
36:54and
36:56the very next year
36:57my classmates
36:58my teammates
36:59elected me captain
37:01of their high school
37:01football team
37:03and lacrosse team
37:05and wrestling team
37:08and those kids
37:08didn't look like me
37:11they didn't pray
37:12like I do
37:14they were asking
37:14who'd be a good
37:15leader for our team
37:16and I'm so honored
37:17for their support
37:19Michiganders are
37:20good people
37:20we're earnest
37:22and we expect
37:23the best out of
37:24everybody
37:24and we're gritty
37:26and we're willing
37:27to work hard
37:28for what we have
37:30what we've been
37:30watching is our
37:31politics have
37:32exploited us
37:33telling us that
37:33only some can have
37:35and others can't
37:36pitting us
37:37against each other
37:38telling us what
37:38we cannot have
37:39and should not
37:40fight for
37:41and the part of
37:42this that makes
37:43me upset
37:43is that
37:44when they lie
37:45on us
37:45and tell us
37:46that somebody
37:47like me can't
37:48win
37:48I want to show
37:49them the
37:50Michigan I know
37:51and love
37:51I want to show
37:52them the big
37:53hearted and
37:54open minded
37:54Michigan I know
37:56I want to show
37:57them all of the
37:58different communities
37:59who've welcomed us
38:00into their
38:01heart and home
38:02to have conversations
38:04about who we are
38:05and who we want
38:06to be
38:06people don't care
38:07how you pray
38:07they care what you
38:09pray for
38:09and what you hope
38:10for
38:10they don't care
38:11what your name is
38:12they care if you
38:13pray for their name
38:14that's Michigan
38:15that's the Michigan
38:16I know
38:16that's the Michigan
38:17I believe in
38:18and whatever
38:18Jake Lang
38:19and Donald Trump
38:20and Mike Rogers
38:22want us to think
38:22we are bigger than
38:24being torn apart
38:25by small people
38:26with small ideas
38:26and small visions
38:27for what Michigan is
38:36so
38:37Farrington Hills
38:38we got a choice
38:39on November 3rd
38:40and we got a choice
38:41every single day
38:42until November 3rd
38:44and that choice
38:45is about putting
38:46ourselves in the heart
38:47of our democracy
38:49they want to tell us
38:50that we cannot have
38:52union rights
38:52but when they come
38:53for our union rights
38:54we won't back down
38:57when they come
38:59for Medicaid
38:59and Social Security
39:01and Medicare
39:02and ACA
39:04we won't back down
39:06when they come
39:08for our democratic rights
39:09and our rights
39:10to say what we believe
39:11we won't back down
39:14when they come
39:15for our ability
39:17to join together
39:18beyond our differences
39:19to build something
39:20that's greater
39:20than the sum
39:21of its parts
39:21we won't back down
39:24when they come
39:25for our public schools
39:26and our public school teachers
39:27we won't back down
39:30and when they come
39:31for us
39:32we will stand together
39:33we won't back down
39:36we won't back down
39:37today
39:37we won't back down
39:38tomorrow
39:38we won't back down
39:40until November 3rd
39:41we're going to build
39:42a majority
39:42that takes our Senate back
40:00first day we can vote
40:02is September 24th
