00:00Re-Animal has just launched its first DLC, The Prisoner, and while it takes us back to a similar desolate
00:05wasteland we saw in the first game, there is a lot more for us to uncover while we're there.
00:09Not only do we play as two new children, The Prisoner and The Soldier, in a constant battle to survive
00:13an island that presents new dangers at every step, we've also got an entirely new, massively intimidating enemy to avoid,
00:19The Flamethrower Soldier.
00:21Re-Animal is no stranger to obscure, twisted enemies, as we already encountered in the main game, but this one
00:26definitely feels almost human.
00:27You know, despite the complete lack of facial features and the unstoppable destructive nature, and the gigantic flamethrower they use
00:34to tear down anything and anyone in their path.
00:36As you make your way through the warzone, the flamethrower closely follows, but you never really know where they hide,
00:41regardless of their gigantic size and towering nature, compared to the two masked children.
00:45One wrong move, and you'll stumble directly into their clutches, so just trust me when I say that not every
00:50door leads to a safe end.
00:52Fortunately, we've been given some new tools to defend ourselves within this bleak setting.
00:56Firstly, the axe, which is far more powerful against the smaller enemies you'll encounter later down the road.
01:01But along the way, you'll also pick up an instant camera, which goes hand in hand with your new weapon.
01:06This instant camera is an integral tool in solving some of the puzzles you'll encounter as you explore.
01:11Not only does it manipulate certain objects when you take a photo, such as getting a mannequin to drop a
01:15key you need to enter the next area,
01:16but it's also the key to exposing hidden elements around different zones, like unlocking a suitcase, taking a picture, and
01:22revealing an icon tucked in the lid.
01:24Or taking a photo of a computer monitor to change the logo on the screen.
01:28No, it doesn't offer much brute force when fighting, but outside of puzzle solving, it's an essential piece of kit
01:33for both stunning enemies and also unlocking one of the game's newest modes of travel.
01:37Corpse.
01:37We saw this rather bleak method used in the base game, where one of the first enemies you encounter disappears
01:43into a body.
01:43But now, it's our turn to make the most of this rather unsettling feature by taking a photo of the
01:48body to open up the doorway before climbing in and popping up elsewhere.
01:52The second brand new mode of transport is a military motorcycle.
01:55This isn't just handed to you in the game, and you need to fight tooth and nail to get a
01:58hold of it.
01:59But once you have, you're at least given a way to defend yourself against the horrors, thanks to its machine
02:03gun sidecar.
02:04Don't rely on this firearm too much though, if you're relentlessly firing, you do run the risk of your weapon
02:09overheating.
02:10And let's face it, we've had enough fire already in this DLC.
02:14If you're feeling brave enough to take on the arduous journey, then Re-Animal the Prisoner is now available on
02:19Steam.
02:19And who knows where we'll end up next.
02:21.
