00:16So I will present you. You are the chief strategy and technology officer for Givernova's electrification system business.
00:23Could you introduce us to your main area of responsibility in the company?
00:29I look after the strategy plan across the electrification businesses.
00:35So very linked to Seagree activities.
00:39And I'm also leading the research and development on new technology across the company.
00:45Thank you. And one of the main topics here at Seagree Paris 2024 is energy transition as you know.
00:53Can you share your view on the urgent power system ramp up?
00:57It's been indeed an amazing period. We have on the one hand the need to connect renewable energy faster for
01:05energy security reasons.
01:07So that's one of the drivers. The second one is the increase in demand.
01:14Electrification is at the heart of the energy transition. More electrical demand requires a much bigger investment in grid.
01:21Thanks. And you talk about power systems of systems. Could you tell us more about that?
01:29And if any of these technologies are showcased here at the trade show in Paris this year?
01:35The power system is not one system. It's a collection of systems that interact in real time.
01:42In many cases we're going to have a grid where we're going to have a DC mesh to grid connected
01:47such as multi-terminal MVDC showcased here.
01:52As well as all the systems that are dealing with the grid controls, digital substations, autonomous controls or grid OS
02:00such as orchestration of the grid.
02:03All these systems come together and they are showcased here.
02:06Great. Thank you for this explanation. And do you see any fundamental technology areas for the power system evolution precisely?
02:15More than ever. So we're looking at making the system more sustainable.
02:20So replacement of SF6 gases on high voltage equipment, key priority.
02:26We're accelerating the connection of renewables, including offshore, HVDC with multiple terminals, DC grids, another essential area.
02:36And we're deploying flexibility at all layers of the grid with artificial intelligence support, new software tools.
02:45So we're really transforming the grid on all its aspects at the moment.
02:50And to finish the interview, I would like to know in your opinion, what are the benefits of attendance participation
02:56at the CIGRE Paris session 2024?
03:01So just for the first time CIGRE took place, we're facing a period where we need to invest in grid
03:07and we need to attract talent and new people to work together.
03:12We can only do it as a collective partnership between customers, suppliers, competitors, organizations.
03:21And CIGRE is really the place to bring this community together.
03:25We will achieve goals only together.
