00:06Hi everyone and welcome on Sigret TV for a new interview with our guest today and this is Jamie
00:13Dariba. Hello Jamie. Hello Fanny. Thank you for being with us Jamie. It's a pleasure. A pleasure
00:20for us too. As you have been chair of study committee C2, system operation and control for
00:25four years. Could you please tell us how did your term go? My term? Imagine like this. We began
00:33everything during the pandemic period. Not easy. Not easy. Everything was new. Trying to understand
00:41how to use remote meetings, remote meetings for the whole globe. But we did it well. And then after
00:51the pandemic, I understand that we had a normal situation with a lot of interesting people, with a
00:59lot of interesting information from everywhere in the world. And we try to organize all the work we
01:05need to organize in study committee C2. It's a big study committee. Imagine operations and control.
01:12Everybody likes to have this in their hands. Control is everything. Control is everything. But after four
01:19years, I think we have good results. Yeah. With the support of my secretary, Flavio Wolves, a great
01:25support from him and for the whole community of my study committee. Okay. And to know your work
01:31in more details, could you explain to us what is the work of study committee C2 on a daily basis
01:36and what is its same goal? Well, we are talking about operation control. Imagine the electrical
01:43system. If you produce a transformer or if you build a transmission line, you don't need
01:52a transformer or just a transmission line. You need to put everything this working well together.
01:58That's what we do. We operate everything and we have to control everything. The goal is to give energy
02:06to the society. But we need a lot of equipment, a big amount of equipment working together. And that's
02:14this task to put everything working together is operation. And without control, you won't have
02:21success in the operation. Yeah, of course. That's the idea for study committee C2. I understand that all
02:26other study committees knows that everything will end in operation. Thanks. The final result is this. Thanks for the
02:34explanation. And you have been also an assistant to ONS, Operador Nacional de Sistema Electrico in Brazil,
02:42since 2018. How was the impact of your career on your position at the CIGRE and vice versa?
02:50It's for sure a two-way impact because I can bring a lot of knowledgement. I can bring a lot
02:57of
02:57experience from CIGRE to my daily activities in ONS, but also everything we have in Brazil.
03:05We imagine Brazil is a big country with a very complex system and you have a lot of experience
03:11in operating big systems there. So I could bring a lot of experience to the C2 community. I think it
03:18was
03:18very grateful to make those two-way situations. And what were your most memorable moments as a chair
03:28at CIGRE? And will you still be involved as an active member after that?
03:35Well, a memorable memory is today. I'm on TV. Yeah, you are active. That's right. It's a memorable moment here.
03:46Yeah, of course. But more than this, of course, the events we had, CIGRE session, we had a great
03:54event in Australia last year. Forget about the pandemic period. Yeah. But we have special moments
04:02there when you can see the whole community together discussing, debating important things, evolving,
04:09exchanging experience. Those are the best moments. Of course, a lot of work to prepare everything.
04:14But when you can see people together discussing technical issues, this is perfect. Those are memorable moments.
04:22For the future, yes, I want to stay contributing to CIGRE, of course, especially for a study community too. But
04:29we will have another chair and I have to discuss with her a lot of things that I understand that
04:35I can
04:35contribute in the future. And that's a great transition because we will receive the next chair.
04:41Have you have a word to say to her? Of course. Renuka will be the next chair. I think the
04:49future for
04:50study community too will be perfect with her. It's time for me to give her the term. Yeah.
04:58My term has ended. She will begin. But I think she will have maybe more happy, more
05:05satisfaction than I had in those four years. And I, for sure, I wish her a great term, a big
05:13and
05:13special result after the work, the task she will perform. Thank you very much, Jamie.
