03:33Tonight, we are talking all sorts of news around the world of professional wrestling, starting with WWE and serious concerns
03:39that Crown Jewel is going to need to move.
03:41After the airport bombing over the weekend in Riyadh's airport, it sounds as though WWE is legitimately looking at alternate
03:48venues for where they could potentially move the show to.
03:50If you are somebody in Iran, now look, I don't know how plugged into the wrestling world the people and
03:55the leaders of Iran are,
03:56or the people of the Houthis, who are the ones who are responsible for this bombing,
04:00but at the end of the day, if you really wanted to make a global impact,
04:04you would target this stadium in Riyadh whenever they're having a huge social gathering for tens of thousands of fans.
04:10So WWE needs to take this very seriously.
04:12They really, really do keep the safety of their talent as the apex priority in this situation,
04:17and really, they need to protect not just the wrestlers, but the agents, the people who set up and tear
04:23down the ring, the sets, everything.
04:26All the executives, all the creative team, all that stuff needs to be protected, and their safety is paramount.
04:33So I would not be surprised if they move the show.
04:35I actually think they should move the show, especially when there's significant warnings from every branch of the government
04:41telling you not to fly into Riyadh right now.
04:43If you're from the United States, I couldn't agree more.
04:45I think it's a bad idea to keep the show there.
04:48From there, we're talking Liv Morgan.
04:49Why did she win Money in the Bank yet again?
04:52Or not Money in the Bank, but the Women's World Championship at Money in the Bank yet again.
04:55And it turns out that the word that's going around, Wrestling Observer Radio pointed out that
05:00she was never expected to not have the championship,
05:03that the whole decision to do the championship switch in Chile was done as a pop that night kind of
05:09thing,
05:09not because they wanted to leave Stephanie Vaccaro's champion for a long-term solution.
05:13Liv and Rhea Ripley are the two talents that they look at as being the apex of the women's division
05:17right now,
05:18and they wanted to build around them.
05:20Stephanie Vaccaro just happens to be she was in her hometown, and they wanted to get the big moment.
05:24And you know WWE right now is all about their moments.
05:25They're not really about, you know, the storytelling logic that sometimes it makes.
05:30In a little bit of, like, weird news for the day, I gotta touch on this because I find it
05:34wildly fascinating.
05:35When I was a kid, there was a wrestler by the name of Baron Von Raschke.
05:38If you don't know who Baron Von Raschke is, go back and look up some of his matches.
05:41This guy used to team with Ivan Koloff.
05:43He was in the AWA for a significant period of time, master of the Iron Claw kind of thing.
05:48You know, there was the Von Eriks, and there was Baron Von Raschke.
05:50They were all Claw people.
05:51And Raschke, now 86 years old, sets the record as being the oldest male competitor for a professional wrestling match.
05:58After a 30-year layoff between matches, he was at Sidney Bacabella's Halloween Ball Gauntlet Extravaganza over the weekend.
06:05And at 86 years old, he battles in this multi-person match.
06:08I've named the names, but I don't know any of them, so I'm not going to stress the fact that
06:12maybe you don't know him either.
06:13But he ends up entering the match, and he wins the match, which is even more bizarre.
06:17Not just that he had a match at 86, but that he won the match at 86.
06:21And he used the claw in the match, which was freaking awesome.
06:24So congrats to Baron Von Raschke.
06:26I was actually a fan when I was a kid because he had a very unique presentation.
06:30I feel like the guy doesn't age.
06:31Even though he's 86, he still has a very similar look now than what he did 30 years ago.
06:36He is not, however, the oldest wrestler ever.
06:38Mae Young was 87 years old when she was on Raw in 2010.
06:42So he's got a little while to go before he can set the permanent record as being the oldest guy.
06:46I don't know that he'll ever get in the ring again, but fascinating that he had this match.
06:50I find it wildly interesting.
06:52Got to touch on something that was much more controversial the last couple days.
06:56Max Caster makes his debut for TNA Wrestling, and literally the very next day, they have severed ties with Max
07:02Caster.
07:03He will not be returning to TNA, at least not in the immediate future, because when he did his entrance
07:08at Bound for Glory, he wrapped his way to the ring.
07:12And as he's wrapping to the ring, he made a comment that basically took a shot.
07:16I don't want to necessarily say it took a shot at WWE.
07:18A lot of people said that in the reporting.
07:19I don't see that.
07:20He said something about, I'm dropping bombs.
07:22You don't have to fly to Riyadh.
07:24And it's like he's referencing Riyadh, which is where WWE is going to be holding Crown Jewel.
07:27He's referencing dropping bombs when they just had a legit bombing in Riyadh's airport.
07:32It's not a good look.
07:33This is something that apparently was not approved.
07:35It was not scripted.
07:36It wasn't something anybody knew was coming.
07:38And then he did that, and he's already a controversial figure to begin with.
07:41Now, I question the bookers.
07:43Whoever puts this guy in your company, you know he does controversial stuff.
07:46You know he wraps his way to the ring.
07:48You know he says stuff to get huge reactions.
07:50I shouldn't be surprised.
07:52But there was many lost lives in this bombing at the airport.
07:56It's not the right time to be joking about it.
07:58It's never the right time to be joking about the loss of life.
08:01And this was a bad decision on his part.
08:02Now, what's really frustrating is, obviously, TNA is a no-go now.
08:06AEW didn't resign him.
08:08And WWE is probably the ones who were offended by what he said.
08:11There's rumor that maybe they were the ones who put pressure on TNA to sever ties.
08:15And there was a statement released by TNA referencing their global partners, which easily could be WWE.
08:20This guy may have just shafted himself out of a career.
08:23I don't know if you ever check it out, but one of the best wrestling websites there is is Wrestling
08:26Inc.
08:27And on Wrestling Inc., they always have these articles.
08:29You go through an article, and at the very bottom, they start these other articles.
08:32They're more perpetual articles.
08:33And one of them is lists of guys whose careers ended by one stupid decision or in one match time
08:40or something like that.
08:41This may have been the case for Max Caster.
08:43Walking out, rapping like that, being insensitive when there was just a bombing and talking about bombing in Riyadh.
08:47Bad decision.
08:48He's gone from TNA.
08:50WWE's not signed him anytime soon.
08:51And he's certainly going to have a tough time getting back to AEW after all this.
08:54So I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens for him.
08:56I'm sure he'll be on the independent scene.
08:58I hope he really enjoys the indie spot because that may be the only thing he's got for the foreseeable
09:03future.
09:04From there, word is TKO has ended Roman Reigns' part-time status.
09:08He is scheduled to be at multiple events over the next couple months.
09:11WWE and TKO really, I mean, let's be honest.
09:15I get it.
09:15He had a reduced schedule.
09:17Some people claim it's because of the leukemia diagnosis and the treatments he has to go through and how difficult
09:21it is for his body to always fight that off.
09:23I don't know.
09:24But when you're paying this guy millions per year, like on the level of professional sports athlete millions of dollars
09:30per year, then he's got to be there.
09:32He's got to be there more than he has been.
09:34They really do.
09:34WWE's, their ratings, the money they're asking for tickets, things like that, people want to see the premier talents.
09:40They don't want to go and see second-rate talent at these live shows or at these pay-per-views
09:44or at Money at Raw or SmackDown.
09:46So I'm not surprised they want him to be a part of the shows.
09:48We're going to see him a lot more frequently across the next couple months, which is exciting because that's kind
09:52of what he said at WrestleMania.
09:54In the post-show news thing where he said about how this wasn't a part-time thing, he was going
09:58to be around a lot more.
09:59And he said that, and then he was for a little while, and then he's disappeared again.
10:02So I'd like to see him as a weekly fixture.
10:05I really would.
10:06But there's a lot of guys in WWE right now that pretty much aren't making it to TV.
10:09It's really frustrating.
10:10I need to see more from them.
10:11But we'll have to wait and see what this means for Roman going forward.
10:14Obviously, after some of the things going on with 946 and Bloodline, I'm sure he'll be involved in that.
10:19We'll have to see how and when he makes his presence felt in that feud.
10:23But for now, I feel like he's just sitting on the sidelines.
10:26And let's be honest, it really doesn't matter what Roman Reigns does.
10:30Between now and WrestleMania, everybody knows he's carrying that World Championship till Mania where he'll lose it to Oba.
10:36But that also makes everything between now and then pointless.
10:39We know nobody's ever beating him.
10:41We know the matches are going to be just filler time.
10:44Somewhat problematic for me.
10:45I really don't like it.
10:47This is too much predictability in WWE's booking.
10:50They should never have teased it at WrestleMania this year with Oba and Roman.
10:54They should have kept that in their back pocket.
10:56Everybody could have assumed everything they wanted to without the announcement.
10:58Now that you made the announcement, you kind of have to follow through.
11:02Especially when you factor in the point that Oba won the King of the Ring and then gave up his
11:06title shot.
11:07I'm sure he'll probably win the Rumble.
11:08If not, he'll win the Elimination Chamber and Roman will be the guy who is in front of him.
11:12I can't wait to see it.
11:14But in the meantime, I don't care.
11:16I don't care about Roman Reigns' matches.
11:18I don't care about his feuds.
11:20Because none of it means anything because he's never going to lose that championship until Mania.
11:23Which also takes down from Penta.
11:25Because Penta's not beating Roman Reigns for the championship because they want to do Roman and Oba.
11:30Penta's never going to cash in on Oba because he wouldn't have a stand of chance.
11:33He just wouldn't.
11:35So that tells me that Penta is going to cash in for the WWE championship.
11:39Could he cash in on Sami Zayn?
11:41Yes.
11:41Theoretically, he could.
11:42Would he do it maybe at Crown Jewel?
11:43How interesting that would be.
11:45Does he cash in someplace else?
11:47He did say it's going to be a surprise.
11:48I can't wait to find out when he does cash it in.
11:50But I really believe because of what we've seen, he'll be cashing in for the WWE championship, not the World
11:56Heavyweight Championship.
11:57So we'll have to wait and see how that plays out.
11:59And then some other interesting stuff.
12:01AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling at their King of Pro Wrestling event in Tokyo.
12:05Shingo Takagi put out an open challenge that has been answered by AEW superstar Jon Moxley.
12:11And these two are going to have a war.
12:14Shingo Takagi is one of the best wrestlers in the world.
12:16I absolutely love his work.
12:17Of course, Mox is off the chain and incredible too.
12:20Should be a great match.
12:21First time Mox is going back to New Japan in quite some time.
12:24So it would be great to see him get the opportunity to compete in that style because it's a much
12:27more physical style.
12:28That's something he likes.
12:29But he is not the only one.
12:31At the end of the show at King of Pro Wrestling, Yoda Tsuji was talking some trash, looking for his
12:36next opponent.
12:37And Oleg Bolton came out and Oleg Bolton wants to be his next opponent.
12:42But before anything could happen, there's a promo, a vignette that airs from Kenny Omega.
12:47Talking about how he, you know, basically he's frustrated that Yoda Tsuji didn't appear at Forbidden Door.
12:53You're not a champion since you didn't appear at Forbidden Door.
12:56And now, Kenny Omega wants a three-man match.
12:59He wants Yoda Tsuji, Oleg Bolton, and himself three-person match.
13:03And if he wins, then he would be the number one contender presumably to take on the champion at Wrestle
13:09Kingdom in January.
13:10Which would be phenomenal.
13:11I would love to see that.
13:13I know they want to push Oleg Bolton to the top of the card.
13:15He's a great talent, but this is the opportunity to really capitalize on Kenny Omega's fame and let him have
13:20a match in Japan first time in quite a while again for him as well.
13:24This could be very exciting.
13:25Can't wait to see what they do with Kenny Omega and how he rolls with this feud with Yoda Tsuji.
13:30Should be some great stuff.
13:31If you don't know who any of these New Japan guys are, please check out New Japan World or look
13:34up their videos on YouTube or any other social media platform.
13:39The New Japan product is just unbelievably incredible.
13:42Hard-hitting and super, super serious.
13:45And I love it.
13:45And that's going to be great for Kenny Omega who does really well in that environment, as does Jon Moxley.
13:50So both matches, super, super cool.
13:52And I feel like this is the way for AEW to kind of offer the olive branch because they've milked
13:56in New Japan so much for talent, for other things, for Biddendor and whatnot, that this is a way they
14:01can give back and make things meaningful.
14:03MJF will be going there as well.
14:04He's got a few coming up.
14:05So like multiple AEW stars going to New Japan.
14:08Very cool stuff.
14:09Love to see companies working together.
14:10I just wish you could get the big two to work together.
14:12AEW, WWE.
14:13How cool would that be?
14:14Just saying.
14:15That's my opinion.
14:17For now, though, that's all the time we have for this episode.
14:20Check back with us next episode.
14:21We'll run down the latest wrestling news and rumors.
14:23Special thanks, as always, goes out to Suna for creating the music and sound effects we use on our show.
