00:02In every one, my lord.
00:06Damascus, Tyre, Moab, Edom.
00:10Send letters to every king and every prince of a city.
00:13Let them search every village and every cave.
00:16And let them swear, swear by their gods, that the man is not with them.
00:27And if they find him?
00:34Bring him alive.
00:36I want to see his face when I ask him where the rain is.
00:42The scribe wrote,
00:44The messengers departed,
00:46and for three years the kings of the nations swore,
00:50one by one, by their gods,
00:52that the prophet of Israel was not in their lands.
00:56None of them lied,
00:58for no one looked where God had placed him,
01:01in the poorest house in the queen's own land.
01:09The woman was bent over at the village entrance, gathering twigs.
01:13Not many, the last ones.
01:16She examined each one before picking it up, as if counting them.
01:20A shadow fell across her hands.
01:23She looked up and saw a barefoot man, covered in road dust,
01:28wearing a goatskin cloak and a leather belt,
01:31an Israelite, judging by his clothes and his eyes.
01:41Please, bring me a little water in a cup.
01:44I am thirsty.
01:54And bring me a piece of bread as well.
01:55The woman stopped.
01:57Her back stiffened.
01:59For a moment, she stood motionless.
02:01As surely as the Lord your God lives,
02:04I have no bread.
02:07I have a handful of flour in a jar
02:10and a little oil in a flask.
02:13I am gathering these sticks to take home
02:15and make a last meal for me and my son.
02:18We will eat it,
02:19and then we will die.
02:27Do not be afraid.
02:34Go, and do as you said.
02:37But first, make me a small loaf from that flour
02:40and bring it to me.
02:41Then make some for yourself and your son.
02:47Did you hear what I said?
02:49A handful.
02:51I heard.
