00:00One of the four Gospels contradicts the other three, and it's not subtle.
00:05Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called the Synoptic Gospels.
00:09They tell the same story in the same order, often in the same words.
00:14Then there's John.
00:16In Matthew, Mark, and Luke, Jesus' ministry lasts one year.
00:21He starts after John the Baptist is arrested.
00:23He teaches mostly in parables, and he only goes to Jerusalem once, at the very end, to die.
00:30In John, his ministry lasts three years.
00:33He starts before John the Baptist is arrested.
00:36He barely uses parables.
00:38Instead, he gives long theological speeches about who he is, and he goes to Jerusalem three separate times.
00:46The timeline of his death is different, too.
00:49In the Synoptics, the Last Supper is the Passover meal.
00:53Jesus is crucified the day after Passover.
00:56In John, the Last Supper is before Passover.
01:00Jesus is crucified on Passover day itself, at the exact time the Passover lambs are being slaughtered.
01:07It's the same figure, but John presents him completely differently.
01:11More divine, more cosmic, less human.
01:15The question is, why?
01:17Well, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to
01:17say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to
01:17say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to
01:17say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to
01:17say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to
01:17say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to
01:17say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to
01:17say, I'm going to say, I'm going
