00:00Did you know one woman's death stopped an entire city?
00:04Her name was Tabitha.
00:06Her story is found in Acts chapter 9.
00:09Tabitha had two names, Tabitha in Aramaic and Dorcas in Greek.
00:14Both mean gazelle, a name that meant beauty, grace, and swiftness.
00:19She lived in the coastal city of Joppa.
00:22She wasn't known for preaching, but for serving.
00:25The Bible says she was always doing good and helping the poor.
00:28She was incredibly talented with her hands.
00:32She personally sewed tunics and clothing for widows in need.
00:35She used her gift to show God's love.
00:39When she got sick and died, the whole community wept.
00:42The widows she helped showed Peter all the clothes she had made for them.
00:47This is where her story becomes a miracle.
00:50The apostle Peter was called to come.
00:52He knelt down, prayed, and simply said,
00:55Tabitha, get up!
00:57And she opened her eyes.
00:59God brought her back to life.
01:01And because of her, many people in Joppa believed in the Lord.
01:06Tabitha proves you don't need a platform to have purpose.
01:09Just faithful, good works.
01:11There's all thatOH.
01:11He doesn't need a platform to allow this.
01:12mess around.
01:12Who knows?
01:12I'm going to be born with each other.
01:12If you take a cup and we can.
01:12anybody's looking for what happens.
