00:02In lay terms, what, in your own words,
00:08what made you decide to make this commitment that you've made right now?
00:12Well, I woke up sitting in traffic like everybody else, and I just said, hey,
00:16enough is enough. I've been in a secret service, I've worked at the White House,
00:21and even when I was there, I was aspiring to one day be in politics when I was in the
00:25White House,
00:26and learned a lot there, as you can imagine. But I am very interested in volunteer service,
00:33I'm very interested in serving the people. My history, since the age of 17, when I joined the
00:39Army infantry, in service to the people, then going to the Air Force, military police, and
00:47multiple law enforcement positions, even a volunteer fireman, volunteer EMT. So my history speaks for
00:53itself. My history is serving you at little benefit at all. It's not about benefit. And
01:01I aspire to benefit least in anybody. I'm being heard, I might get an office when I get in,
01:08I said only if there's no cost to the taxpayers. If there's a cost, I'll work out of my car.
01:14I don't
01:15need it. So that's how I'm wired. So hopefully, somebody appreciates that. I know, but if I'm saving
01:23money, I hope never to take any voucher either. I'm not going to claim any gas mileage. They can do
01:29that. Commissioners can do that. I'm not seeking any of that. I'm not going to be seeking any extra
01:35money at all. Thank you for looking for the lay, looking out for the lay people. I am. I am
01:42of the
01:42people and I am for the people. I am the lay people.
