Delhi administration has implemented sweeping security measures ahead of the Aam Aadmi Party's planned October 10 protest at Jantar Mantar, despite the Delhi Police withholding permission. Barricades on Janpath Road have halted pedestrian and vehicular traffic heading toward Jantar Mantar. Over 300 new CCTV cameras capable of recording audio and visuals have been installed across the New Delhi district, linked to local police station control rooms. Traffic diversions have caused footfall in local markets to plummet, with traders noting sharp drops in business and transaction issues. Meanwhile, Gurgaon Police have stepped up vigil, placing barricades and questioning commuters at MG Road Metro Station and border areas like Sirhol along NH-48.
