00:06Ladies and gentlemen, coming up next,
00:08the WWE title will be defended inside that dangerous steel structure.
00:12A structure that both men here tonight say they plan to use as a weapon.
00:23The following is a steel cage match and it is for the WWE Championship.
00:31Now the only way to win is by pinfall.
00:34Submission or escaping the cage with both feet hitting the floor.
00:51He is the IC WWE Champion.
00:56Randy Orton has been on a reign of terror the past few months that has been unparalleled.
01:01He took out every member of the McMahon family.
01:05He took out Triple H, The Game, The Nature Boy, Ric Flair, all with punts to the skull.
01:13But this past Monday night on Raw King, the one thing Randy Orton did, in my estimation, was he woke
01:19up an animal.
01:20And that may really come back to haunt Randy Orton right here tonight inside that cage.
01:26We've said it before.
01:28The most dangerous kind of animal is one that's caged.
01:32And Batista, I mean, we've seen it. We've witnessed it.
01:37Everyone sees the emotion, the rage that is inside Batista.
01:42And it's all going to come out tonight inside that cage.
01:45I'm afraid at the expense of Randy Orton.
01:47You know, you talked about Randy Orton's evil deeds as of late.
01:52And I travel all around the country, Michael.
01:54And I've talked to I don't know how many members of the Raw Universe, different cities, different states.
02:00And I'm telling you, Randy Orton is without a doubt the most despised man in the entire WWE right now.
02:11Earlier tonight, Orton's opponent Batista told Randy Orton that tonight's just beginning.
02:18Tonight I'm going to take your WWE Championship.
02:21But then I'm going to take your pride.
02:24And then I'm going to take your dignity.
02:26And then I'm going to take your health.
02:28I'm going to take everything.
02:29And I'm not going to stop until I wipe out your entire legacy.
02:36And if Batista does everything that he says he's going to do,
02:40I don't think there's one person that's going to feel sorry for Randy Orton at all.
02:44Randy Orton inside the steel cage.
02:46He broke this upon himself, King.
02:47Right.
02:48Remember what he tried to do at Judgment Day?
02:49Tried to get himself disqualified.
02:51Tried to get himself counted out.
02:53And he did get himself disqualified to retain the WWE Championship.
02:57None of that's going to apply tonight.
03:00That steel cage is to keep everyone else out and keep Orton and Batista, just the two of them, inside.
03:13You can tell from the look on Orton's face, somehow, some way, in his heart, he believes he's going to
03:21retain that title.
03:22I take one day.
03:26I take one day.
03:30As a matter of fact, I hate to say it if I were a betting man, I would probably be
03:36betting on Orton myself.
04:01Wow, flat out intensity.
04:03Man, everyone on their feet here in New Orleans.
04:21Batista's been seething since Monday night,
04:24when he stood outside the steel cage and he watched helplessly
04:27as Randy Orton punted his mentor, his friend,
04:31and Ric Flair in the skull.
04:34And, King, let's put this in perspective.
04:36What did Ric Flair mean to Batista?
04:39Well, you know, I think everyone,
04:42everyone that is watching this right now can relate.
04:45Just think of someone in your family or your closest friend,
04:49someone that you care about, someone that you love,
04:52and think about them being in the position.
04:54Who sings first, the challenger from Washington, D.C.,
04:58weighing in at 290 pounds, Batista!
05:08And from St. Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 245 pounds,
05:13he is the WWE Champion, Randy Orton!
05:21Randy Orton, four-time world champion.
05:25Batista, four-time world champion.
05:28Meet inside the steel cage tonight for the WWE title.
05:33The gold on the line.
05:35The only way you leave with that gold is if you pin your opponent,
05:40make your opponent submit, or somehow you're able to escape that cage,
05:44either through the steel door or climb it over.
05:46And Orton's looking to escape right now.
05:47Randy Orton looking to escape quickly.
05:49Batista in pursuit.
05:50Orton trying to put this match away early.
05:52If Orton can get over the top, but he can't.
05:54One, two, three.
05:56That was a point I was gonna make,
05:57it seems a strategy for Orton.
05:59And look at Orton go.
06:00And they're getting the top of the cage.
06:02Randy Orton looking to survive and keep the title.
06:05Batista holding on to Orton's head, and that's the only thing that he's got.
06:10High drama early on and extreme rules in this steel cage match for the championship.
06:16You know, some would say that that's the Coward's way out,
06:20trying to run and climb out of that cage immediately, but that's good strategy.
06:24Randy Orton has to weather the emotion of Batista early on in this matchup.
06:29And for Batista, he's gotta channel that energy.
06:32And focus it on the man who months ago kicked him in the skull.
06:38Look at Orton slithering like a snake across the ring.
06:41Orton costing Batista four months of his career.
06:44Costi Batista an opportunity to participate in the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania.
06:53I gotta think that that was Orton's plan from the get go.
06:57Immediately try to escape the cage in this without suffering the wrath of Batista,
07:02but I'm afraid he's gonna have to go to plan.
07:04And a spear right into the cage.
07:07Saw his spine buckling against the metal.
07:10And Batista.
07:11And Orton able to jump up with Batista.
07:13Look at the champion again.
07:15Randy Orton again trying to escape.
07:17Randy Orton again trying to climb the cage.
07:18He's gotta get over.
07:19And have both feet touch the foot.
07:21Both feet now.
07:25And Batista fired up with a thunderous clothesline.
07:28Almost took Orton's head off.
07:32And Orton's eyes glazed over there.
07:35Just got blasted by a 290 pound man.
07:40Shizzled like a stone.
07:42Look at Batista with the power on the suplex.
07:46Looking to wear Orton down.
07:47Punish Orton.
07:48Here's the cover, hooks the leg.
07:49One, two.
07:50Remember title can't change hands via pinfall in the steel cage.
07:59Ominous words from Batista early on tonight.
08:03No doubt he wants to punish a man who Batista once said, King, he loathes and despises.
08:10Well, it's a long list of people, but I guarantee you Batista is right at the head of that list.
08:18Batista, as much as he wants to win that goal, I don't think he's gonna be in any hurry to
08:22try to,
08:23escape the cage.
08:24He wants to punish Orton.
08:25Orton can escape through the door.
08:26And the door's open.
08:27He can escape through the door.
08:28Both feet have to hit the floor.
08:31Batista not gonna allow that to happen.
08:35Man.
08:39Orton with very little offense in the early going.
08:41He's just focused more on escape.
08:43Ooh.
08:48Ooh.
08:49And Orton, looking for a counter perhaps.
08:51Ooh, and Batista's skull off the steel.
08:55Backbreaker buys Orton some time.
08:59That's Orton an opportunity to escape.
09:01Guarantee that's what's going through the mind of Randy Orton right now.
09:04Orton, the WWE Champion wants nothing to do with Batista.
09:06Hey.
09:06Doors open.
09:07Doors open.
09:07Orton slithering out the door.
09:10He's almost dead.
09:11But the feet have to be on the floor.
09:13Orton with both hands so close.
09:16Look at Batista just powering, dragging Orton's 250-pound body back into the ring.
09:24Boom.
09:29It's gotta be disheartening to Randy Orton to be, have that steel door open and both hands out.
09:34Being able to touch that floor, feel it with your hands, but no, not being able to get your feet
09:39on it.
09:40Orton's been manhandled since the early going king.
09:42Yeah.
09:42Batista on a mission powerful slam.
09:45Cover.
09:46Will we crown a new champion?
09:47Yeah.
09:48Kick out in two.
09:49I thought Batista had him.
09:50Batista had just taken Orton to all four sides of that steel cage and introduced him to each side face
09:57first.
09:58In Orton.
09:59There's Randy Orton.
10:01Again, with an opening and an opportunity.
10:04You can never get, never, ever get complacent.
10:07Never think that you've got things well in hand when you're against Randy Orton.
10:11He will strike when you least expect him.
10:17Hammering away at Batista.
10:19And Orton promised Batista with some of the worst beating of his, quote, miserable life in this cage tonight.
10:28And Orton again, contemplating escape.
10:31Yeah, he's looking at what's gonna be the best route.
10:35Is he gonna put Batista's skull?
10:37Could he do it here?
10:38Was that maybe what was going through Orton's mind?
10:42It's hard to say.
10:43With a sadistic mind like Randy Orton.
10:46Mind buster.
10:48This may be the beginning of the end for him right here.
10:53Orton's skull bouncing off the canvas.
10:57Batista perhaps closing in on the goals.
11:00A thumbs down signal from Batista.
11:02He's thinking Batista.
11:03Oh, what a counter.
11:05What a counter.
11:06What a counter by the champion.
11:10Wow.
11:13Batista just lifted it before a backdrop and then flung right into this cage right there.
11:20Oh, man.
11:22He dropped straight down on his head.
11:24Both men showing the effects of the cage as the WWE Universe firmly behind Batista.
11:35Oh, no.
11:36With a standing drop kick as Batista's skull again contacted the metal.
11:41In this, King, we talk about this all the time, is where Orton becomes so dangerous.
11:45But yet, Orton's gonna try to escape again.
11:47Oh, Batista's gonna have to get up.
11:48I don't know.
11:48Batista doesn't even...
11:50Orton.
11:54Why isn't he going up?
12:02Look at it, he's going for the pump.
12:04He's gonna go for the pump.
12:06Orton, and Batista just threw it out of the way.
12:08And Orton realizing the mistake was made, now has to capitalize, trying somehow to escape the cage.
12:16That may have been a huge mistake by Randy Orton.
12:20Now Batista has Orton.
12:22What a Batista bomb, Orton though.
12:25Randy Orton hanging on.
12:26Randy Orton got greedy.
12:28Batista trying to make the champion pay.
12:30Can he capitalize?
12:37Batista.
12:39Here it is.
12:40Randy Orton.
12:43Batista bomb.
12:44We're gonna get a new champion perhaps.
12:46Hooks the leg.
12:48He got him.
12:49He got him.
12:49He got him.
12:50Batista got him.
12:52Here's your winner, and the new WWE Champion, Batista.
13:00Batista has won the gold.
13:03A five-time champion.
13:07It was a long struggle, but Batista finally back on top.
13:15Months and years of frustration with Randy Orton ended for a moment here tonight for Batista.
13:28Oh, that's gotta feel great for Dave Batista right now to hoist the WWE Championship high over his head while
13:38Randy Orton lays on his feet.
13:42Check this out one more time.
13:44Orton able to escape that first attempt out of Batista bomb.
13:49Win for the RKO.
13:50Missed it.
13:51And then it was locked in.
13:56Listen to this.
13:57Impact.
13:58Wow.
14:00And remember, King, for Batista, tonight is only the beginning.
14:06Batista claimed tonight he would take Randy Orton's title.
14:09He did it.
14:10And then he's going to take Orton's pride.
14:12He's gonna take Orton's dignity.
14:14He's gonna take Orton's health.
14:16He's going to take everything from Randy Orton.
14:19And he's not gonna stop until he wipes out Orton's entire legacy.
14:26Batista, an animal on a mission.
14:29I gotta say, I believe that that's the man that can get the job done.
14:34What an emotional wink for Batista.
14:37Are you, Rick?
14:39Are you, Rick?
14:41Are you, Rick?
14:42And Batista, with a dedication to his mentor, his long-time friend, the Nature Boy, Ric Flair.
14:49The man who took Batista under his wing and turned into Batista's words, a muscle-headed goofball into a world
14:58champion.
15:03Congratulations to Batista, five-time champion.
15:08Oh, you sacrificed.
15:09How you,.
15:12Give him hell, let's go.
