Opposition Members of Parliament gathered in central Delhi for a key meeting hosted by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, with Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs, including Samajwadi Party leaders, in attendance. Heavy security deployment, including Rapid Action Force and Central Armed Police Forces personnel, was placed around Connaught Place as party workers assembled along the outer circle, waving flags and raising slogans against the Chief Election Commissioner. Leaders discussed strategy following recent marches towards the Election Commission and Jantar Mantar over consecutive days. Meanwhile, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader reacted to opposition agitation, asserting that direct benefit transfers have prevented government assistance from falling into wrong hands and saved substantial public funds, adding that political opposition will not derail ongoing national development.

00:00So there's a high possibility that the march could begin anytime soon because there's already a lot of action that's
00:08taking place. There's a lot of noise over here. There's a lot of chanting also that's happening.
00:12And there is some VIP movement. There's a leader. I think it could be Rahul Gandhi who has now arrived.
00:24And everyone was waiting for Rahul Gandhi. And I think it's Rahul Gandhi who has now finally arrived for the
00:32lunch meeting.
00:32We just now heard Dipender Huda talking about the strategy and how he did not disclose where the opposition MPs
00:40will be moving towards. He said that that will be something that will be discussed over lunch.
00:45The lunch is yet to begin because Rahul Gandhi hasn't arrived yet. And there is some VIP movement that's now
00:52happening.
00:54And many of the opposition MPs have already arrived. And this time Samajwadi party will also be taking part in
01:00this lunch meeting unlike yesterday which had raised many eyebrows on the opposition unity.
01:08And now Malik Arjun Kharge, the Congress chief who's in fact hosting this lunch meet. He had invited all the
01:16Rajasabha and Lokasabha MPs from the opposition to this lunch.
01:20He has now arrived along with Jairam Ramesh. He has now arrived at the venue. And Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka
01:27Gandhi Wadra are yet to arrive at the venue.
01:33But Congress workers are already staging protests, are already sloganeering which was not the case yesterday.
01:41And today the atmosphere is much more charged up than it was yesterday.
01:45Yesterday only after the lunch meeting was over, that is when the opposition MPs decided to march towards, decided to
01:52go towards Jantar Mantar.
01:53That is when the MPs had boarded the bus. Rahul Gandhi announced that they will be moving towards Jantar Mantar.
01:58They will be protesting against the election commission, against the chief election commissioner.
02:03But today the scene seems to be different. Today already the Congress workers have arrived.
02:09This entire lane, the outer circle of Knot Place is choked with Congress workers already raising NSUIF flags,
02:18raising slogans and chanting slogans against the chief election commissioner.
02:22And more and more workers are now joining this protest on the outer lane.
02:29And there's heavy barricading also, there's heavy police deployment, there's RAF, there's CAPF.
02:34The cops are also, the number of cops are also increasing.
02:37And now most of the opposition MPs who were supposed to attend this meeting have already arrived.
02:43And everyone is just waiting for Rahul Gandhi to arrive.
02:47And that is when the discussion will be taking place.
02:50And the real action will begin after that, after the lunch meeting,
02:54after which there's a high possibility that the opposition MPs today could march towards Raj Ghat.
02:59And my colleague Aishwarya Paliwal continues to stay with us.
03:02Is there a possibility that lunch, the lunch meet does not even take place?
03:09And as soon as the leaders arrive, because Rahul Gandhi is yet to arrive,
03:13as soon as he arrives, the opposition MPs could just simply board the bus
03:16and start moving towards whatever venue they've decided.
03:20Because the atmosphere seems to be already very charged up.
03:44All right, we're trying to fix that connection.
03:46But there's a lot of action that's taking place just outside Moets.
03:50Remember, yesterday it was Sagar Ratna.
03:53That was the lunch venue that was decided.
03:55And just adjacent to Sagar Ratna is Moets, which is the venue for today.
03:59So yesterday, after having a South Indian lunch,
04:02now today the opposition MPs, as they are claiming,
04:06are in mood for a North Indian lunch menu.
04:08But what remains to be seen is what happens after having lunch.
04:12As desserts, will any sweet dish be served or will a flash protest be served,
04:17is what we are looking at.
04:21So that remains to be seen, whether there will be another flash protest.
04:24Because in the last two days, we've seen how the opposition MPs
04:27have been staging protests on Tuesday.
04:29It was a mega opposition protest.
04:31They were marching towards the Election Commission office.
04:35Several leaders were detained while they were marching towards the Election Commission,
04:44including Achilles Yadav and other senior leaders,
04:47including Abhishek Banerjee also.
04:49They were also detained.
04:51But today also, we are learning that several of the opposition MPs have already reached.
04:59And yesterday, they were marching towards Jantar Mantar.
05:02Today, the location has not been...
