00:00I didn't remember my abuse until we had left the organization. I made sure that my wife knew who
00:06they all were to make sure that our children were never alone, never out of her sight as well.
00:11They didn't know about my abuse until I knew about it, actually. I had the repressed memories
00:16about it at 37 years old. I told my wife, she was there when it kind of hit me, and
00:22the next day we
00:23told my parents, who then informed their congregation elders about it, and scheduled a
00:28Zoom meeting for him so that the accused him. I told him what happened, and he sat there and
00:36completely denied it, and that was the end of the meeting. They allowed him to continue serving as
00:42an elder. So I was baptized at nine years old, and we left when I was 37 years old, is
00:49when we woke up.
00:50After we left the cult, we went to a couple of church services with some friends of ours,
00:54just kind of to see what it was all about. So I went to church for the first time in
00:59my life at 37
01:00years old. So if you're an active Jehovah's Witness, or if you're physically in, mentally questioning,
01:07do your own research. Make your own decisions. Live your life. I just wrote a book and released it the
01:14other day on Kindle. So my parents are still active members of the Jehovah's Witnesses. When we woke up
01:19from this organization, I shared everything with my parents and told them how dangerous of an
01:25organization this was, and they just happened to hit the right one.
