00:00There was a moment where my dad had texted me. He's like, hey, Anisha, I'm like sending over your car.
00:06I'm sending over from North Dakota to California. And I texted him back, actually, can you hold on
00:11that? And my heart told me, let's wait on that. And I remember while I was answering that text,
00:15he had just come up to me and he slapped me across my face. It was just such an eye
00:19opener that later
00:20that night I had called my sister and I was just crying on the phone. And I just told her
00:24that like,
00:24I really missed her. And without me saying anything, she's like, no matter what you do,
00:28you're getting on a flight tomorrow and coming to Austin, Texas. And at that time, I actually
00:33wanted my to come with me. I get to Austin and it's nighttime. So no one can really see my
00:38face.
00:39It was my parents and my sister. My sister just goes straight to her room. And so I just like
00:44slowly follow behind her. And she looks at me and she goes like, let me see your face. My mom
00:49hears
00:49her like start yelling. And honestly, this is this is the most heartbreaking part. Within the next 10
00:54minutes, he was out the door. They had kicked him out. That night, my family took me to the
00:59emergency room. I filed for a restraining order because he wouldn't stop talking to me. And that's
01:04when I finally started to heal. After the whole court, the DEA called me saying that the case was
01:10over and that they just let him off with a plea deal. So I always tell everyone, I feel like
01:14my life's
01:15restarted again, April of 2019. So I started sharing my story in December of 2019 on social media. I was
01:22able
01:22to use my platform to not only like help other women like live in a life, but specifically help
01:27the women who were currently being affected by him.
