00:10Police say the baby was brought to the local hospital here in Ipswich on Thursday last week.
00:15The baby had suffered significant internal injuries, triggering a police investigation.
00:21Days later, the baby was transferred to another hospital in Brisbane, but would sadly never recover.
00:27He died Tuesday afternoon and hours later, police arrested the baby's father, 28-year-old Anib Alar.
00:35He's been charged with murder as a domestic violence offence against a child.
00:40Police say the baby was the only child of Mr Alar and his partner, who is now trying to come
00:45to terms with such a tragedy.
00:48Any death is devastating, but the death involving a young and vulnerable member of the community is particularly tragic.
00:56Mr Alar's matter was heard in the Brisbane Magistrates' Court this morning before it was adjourned until later this month.
