Industry witnesses will be giving evidence this week, as Queensland's CFMEU inquiry resumes public hearings in Brisbane.

00:01Well it's taken a huge effort to get to this point. We're smack bang in the middle of the
00:06Commission with about 14 months left to go with the final report not set to be handed down until
00:11December 3rd, 2027. Now this comes after the Commission was granted an 18-month extension
00:17following a massive influx of submissions and public submissions. We are expecting this week
00:23full three days of hearings to be heard in front of the Commissioner Stuart Wood. Now the
00:29Independent Grove has spent the better part of the last few months examining several key allegations
00:33including illegal union blockades as well as corrupt financial schemes. Now the last time there was a
00:40sitting here in Brisbane it heard chilling allegations of families being stalked, hidden
00:45trackers as well as family pets being poisoned. Certainly this sitting is the latest after the
00:51CFMEU's Brisbane headquarters was raided by police last month following a cross-border investigation
00:57into corruption. Now the witness list is quite extensive with contractors and supervisors of
01:03the Dutton Park site for the Cross River Rail project here in Queensland is expected to front the
01:08hearing as well as several Australian Workers Union officials. The hearings will wrap by Thursday
01:13this week before the next block which is scheduled in for the end of this month.
