00:11after information was received about what he was allegedly posting online.
00:16Commonwealth prosecutors told the court the alleged offending related to messenger chats within a private Facebook group.
00:23In those chats Mr Siazdi allegedly said he plans to lead a riot on the Gold Coast on Australia Day
00:30and had purchased supplies and equipment to make Molotov cocktails to use during the attack.
00:36He also allegedly encouraged others to do the same.
00:39The court heard in other posts he allegedly recommended group members learn how to shoot guns at shooting ranges
00:46and to apply for jobs with ASIO and the Defence Force so they could begin internal operations to down tyranny.
00:53His defence lawyer told the court her client was an academic who'd moved from Sydney to Brisbane for his career with the CSIRO
01:00but he became isolated and influenced by new people he was associating with.
01:05She said it was never his intention to hurt anyone and he just wanted to make national news
01:10and bring people together who shared his disenchantment with the Australian government.
01:15A Magistrate denied his bail finding the risk of injury to multiple people too significant.
01:21He was remanded in custody and his case will return to court next month.
