Exiled Queensland minister Tim Mander has returned to the frontbench after federal police cleared him of wrongdoing over his voting enrolment address. The Brisbane mp says he considers the matter dealt with, refusing to outline any further information about the investigation.

00:07Tim Mander stepped down from Cabinet in May
00:10after he was referred to Federal Police by the Electoral Watchdog.
00:14It was alleged he'd enrolled to vote at a staff member's address
00:18but had largely been living at Parliament accommodation.
00:21Police on Wednesday told Mr Mander,
00:24following inquiries, sufficient evidence was obtained to refute the allegation.
00:29The AFP has therefore finalised its investigation.
00:33My integrity's been intact, my reputation's been smeared, my family's been hurt.
00:39The allegations have proven to be false.
00:41He remains the minister. He's back at work today.
00:45But Mr Mander has refused to outline any details of the investigation
00:50or how long he'd lived at Parliament,
00:52claiming Labor has peddled false accusations.

01:23and was quizzed why he didn't immediately tell his boss.
01:27When you're using burner phones and things when you're overseas,
01:30you don't get the information that you would normally get as quickly as you may normally get.
01:34In fact, you don't get it at all.
01:35Mr Mander will face further scrutiny at parliamentary estimates next week.
