00:00A petition calling on the police not to scrap a dedicated off-road bike team has been signed
00:06by more than 1,300 people. It was launched after the West Yorkshire Force said there could be
00:13operational changes in neighbourhood policing. Over 1,300 residents have since put their names
00:19to the Save Leeds Off-Road Bike Team's online petition. It's feared the specialist squad,
00:25which tackles crime and antisocial behaviour linked to nuisance bikes, would be absorbed into
00:31other policing units. The team get into the alleys, woods and estates where standard police cars
00:37and foot patrols can't go. West Yorkshire Police said it was still committed to tackling such issues.
