00:00People go to games to have fun and I think drinking is a fun activity. It's a way to let
00:04loose.
00:05When I heard those comments, the first word that came to mind was lad.
00:08Andy Burnham just wants a pint in the stands, which is fair enough.
00:11I understand his reasoning and that it discriminates against football fans more so than anyone else.
00:16I think the football has changed since the legislation came in.
00:19I don't believe that it would have a hugely negative impact if we were allowed to drink in the stands.
00:24If anything, the only problems I see is people getting wet when pints go up in the air if someone
00:29scores.
00:29So hopefully they start allowing people to drink in pints.
00:34Obviously, the police will have their say, but we'll wait and see what happens. But fingers crossed.
00:37I think it's a great idea. People are at a stadium, they're watching games. It's fun.
00:41I want to make it more fun by having drinks. You know what I mean?
00:44People should have the right and the freedom to drink in a stadium just like as they do in a
00:47bar.
00:47Having worked in hospitality in Stanford Bridge and in the Oval Stadium,
00:52what I have seen is that alcohol sales, even though regulated in the cricket stadiums,
00:58they do not lead to any kind of violent interruption or that kind of situation.
01:04Maybe because the policing is much more elaborate on the inside, which is not there in the football stadiums.
01:12But yeah, I would guess that it could be a good move considering if the execution is properly done.
01:21Maybe propose something like a separate seating area or a separate section where drinking is permissible
01:25and starting to HCOP as well. But yeah, I think it's a great idea.
