00:01About 12am on Tuesday the 29th, police responded to reports of a home invasion in an address
00:07in Arncliffe.
00:08Police were told a group of unknown men had forced entry into a property before allegedly
00:12threatening a 31-year-old woman with a knife.
00:15They sexually assaulted her and they stole money.
00:18The woman was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
00:21Then about 12.30am on Thursday the 1st of September, police responded to reports of
00:26a home invasion in Jacobs Street at Bankstown.
00:28There was a woman there home alone again, same three men forced entry and also assaulted
00:34that woman, a 32-year-old woman, causing minor injuries.
00:37She was taken to hospital for those injuries.
00:40So last night, officers attached to Bankstown and St George along with the Sex Crime Squad
00:45in charge of the matter.
00:47We combined under Strike Force Forella.
00:50Following extensive inquiries, at about 7.45pm yesterday we executed three search warrants,
00:56one at Bankstown, one at Punchbowl, one at Belmore and one at Greenacre.
01:01At each of those addresses we arrested a male aged between 18 and 20.
01:06There was three of them.
01:07And they were taken back to Burwood and Bankstown police stations and charged with a multiple
01:12number of offences.
01:13One of them was also charged with a sexual assault matter at Arncliffe.
01:16I believe that these men had done some research and they believed that these women might be
01:21home alone and they might have money on the premises, so they were specifically targeted.
01:25Very violent, excessively violent for three men armed with a weapon against vulnerable
01:30women home alone.
01:31It's excessive violence.
01:34It's excessive violence.
