00:15This is the most disrespectful thing I think you have ever done, Kayon.
00:20Are you pointing, Sam?
00:23Yeah, you're pointing?
00:26Like, wow.
00:30Wow.
00:32That is insane.
00:35Type in the comment section, if you had did that to your teacher's classroom, and your parents were called, what
00:45would have happened to you?
00:46Let me know.
00:48Me, personally?
00:49Oh, boy.
00:53Yeah, I would have got the whooping of my life.
00:58And I don't even know what I would have got whooped with.
01:00A paint stick.
01:02A switch.
01:03An extension cord.
01:06A dusting stick.
01:10Old-fashioned belt.
01:12I don't know.
01:13Whatever was close.
01:14Honestly.
01:16So, it kind of depended on what I was near.
01:19If that was an extension cord, well, then, that's what I was getting whooped with that day.
01:23But I would have got tore up.
01:27My behind would have been raw.
01:29I wouldn't have been able to sit down.
01:31Like, I knew better than to do that.
01:36But, oh, my goodness.
01:38Woo.
01:39Y'all let me know in the comments.
01:40Let me know in the comments.
01:41But let's dive into this a little bit more.
01:44Here's a teacher.
01:46Right now, there's a video going viral about, like, a kindergarten student basically destroying their classroom.
01:52And a lot of people are commenting, you know, why did no one stop him?
01:55Why didn't the teacher stop him from destroying the classroom?
01:58The thing is, we can't, right?
01:59Most general education teachers don't have the certification and the training to restrain children.
02:06And it's a huge liability.
02:07But that viral video took me back to the time that I had my classroom destroyed.
02:12So, typical protocol if a child is destroying the classroom is for the teacher and the other students to evacuate.
02:19So, that's exactly what we did.
02:20So, we evacuate the classroom and then we call for admin or call for the people that can help, you
02:24know, de-escalate and restrain the child.
02:26You guys, when I tell you, I got all the kids out, we're sitting in the hallway, and I am
02:30just listening to this child smash, shatter, tear, everything in my classroom.
02:37And obviously, you know, I spent a lot of money on my classroom.
02:39If you go and look, I'm a little extra.
02:41And so, that, you know, that's, I guess, my own fault for doing that.
02:45But it wasn't even necessarily about the money.
02:47Just sitting there and listening to a kid.
02:51And it wasn't like the student didn't have a disability.
02:52It wasn't like a manifestation of their disability.
02:54This kid just decided to destroy my classroom.
02:58And I just had to sit there and listen to them break my things and tear things off the wall
03:03that took me hours.
03:04And it was awful.
03:06Not just for me.
03:07I'm sorry.
03:08I got to stop it there.
03:09I've been trying to not interrupt these types of clips too, too much.
03:13But, hey, it is what it is.
03:14Y'all come here for my commentary anyway.
03:16But, we got to change that.
03:19We have to change that.
03:21I'm not saying teachers should be out here beating the crap out of kids or anything like that.
03:25But teachers aren't able to stop a kid from destroying things that they paid for.
03:31It's crazy.
03:32It's crazy.
03:34Or, if we're not going to allow teachers to stop a child from destroying the classroom.
03:41Well, then, the parent of that child should be liable for the damages.
03:46So, whatever it costs to replace all of the colored pencils, all of the markers, all of the posters, you
03:54know, and whatever else.
03:55Because a lot of these teachers pay for the stuff in their classrooms themselves.
04:00Right?
04:00As you just heard her say.
04:02So, I don't think it's fair for a teacher to then have to pay for all of that stuff all
04:08over again.
04:09Like, that's just crazy to me.
04:11And, also, clean it up?
04:12Yeah, no.
04:14The parent of that student should be liable for the damages and have to pay that teacher whatever it's going
04:22to cost to replace all of that stuff.
04:23But, then, also, either be forced to clean it up themselves or pay a cleaning service to come in and
04:31clean the classroom for the teacher.
04:33That's only fair, in my humble opinion, if you're not going to allow the teachers to restrain a child who's
04:38losing their minds.
04:40Which also says a lot about what is happening at home, too.
04:45You know?
04:46If a kid is going that ballistic, like, of course, kids have meltdowns and whatnot, but that ballistic, something is
04:55happening at that house.
04:56You know what I mean?
04:57Like, something's going on at home that we need to have a larger discussion about.
05:01But, yeah, y'all let me know in the comments if you agree, if you disagree, why or why not.
05:05Or, what do you think the solution is if you don't agree with anything that I said?
05:08All the other kids just sitting there watching me, and I obviously tried to just, you know, remain calm, not
05:13let it faze me.
05:14But just them hearing things shattering and breaking, and, you know, that's their classroom.
05:18That's supposed to be a safe place for them.
05:20The worst part about it all is that kid was in the classroom two days later.
05:24They had to stay home for one day, and then they were right back in, and I had to act
05:28like nothing happened, as well as all the other classmates.
05:31I have the video that she's referencing, and I'm going to play it in a second, and you will not
05:35believe your eyes when you see this video.
05:37It is one of the craziest classroom videos I have ever seen.
05:41I cannot believe the kid was allowed to do this.
05:43But first, is this teacher correct?
05:45Is the protocol to not stop students who are destroying classrooms?
05:49And according to this, yes.
05:51In U.S. public schools, the teacher is not supposed to stop or get involved with an abusive kid.
05:57General education teachers are not trained, and if you do get involved, it can trigger abuse investigations or lawsuits.
06:05So, according to federal guidance and the U.S. Department of Education, physical restraint should only happen when there is
06:12an imminent danger or serious physical harm to students or someone else.
06:16Destroying the classroom is generally allowed.
06:18You can do nothing about this.
06:20So, what is the teacher supposed to do?
06:22Exactly like what she said.
06:24So, this just shows that this is what they're actually trained.
06:26You're supposed to get the students out of the room, call an administrator or a behavior team, and then stay
06:33with the rest of your class in a safe spot.
06:35So, they're not supposed to intervene.
06:36I don't know about you, but when I was in school, you, like, feared your teachers.
06:40You feared your parents.
06:41If you did something like this, you knew a punishment was coming, and you were going to be stopped.
06:46But that is not the case anymore.
06:48Even according to this, you get generally not a lot of punishment.
06:51You get, like, one day out, and you're right back in the classroom.
06:54All right.
06:54So, let's go back to that video.
06:55Let's see what happened here.
06:56This is insane.
07:13This is the most disrespectful thing I think you have ever done, Kaylin.
07:18Are you pointing, Sarah?
07:21Yeah.
07:22You pointing?
07:24Like, wow.
07:26Yeah, bro, that's crazy, man.
07:28That's sick.
07:30I mean, it really is.
07:31Like, and you could tell the teacher was, like, trying to hold it together.
07:34You could hear the sniffling, right?
07:37And I don't blame them.
07:39Like, they paid for that themselves.
07:41She paid for that.
07:43And in a time where, you know, you got a lot of teachers who were talking about their own pay
07:47not being paid enough,
07:48and now they're having to shell out money for their own classrooms, and kids are destroying it,
07:53and there's absolutely nothing they can do about it.
07:55Like, not only is that disrespectful to the teacher, it's disrespectful to the other students.
07:59You're disrupting the learning environment, and you're just throwing that kid back in the classroom.
08:03That's absolutely ridiculous.
08:05Absolutely ridiculous.
08:07Our society has, like, zero common sense.
08:09None.
08:11Like, what happened to common sense?
08:13Common sense would say, hey, a teacher should be able to stop this student if they're going ballistic.
08:20Common sense should say, if a kid is acting up in school like this, they should not be allowed back
08:25into the classroom.
08:28You know what I mean?
08:29Like, this is just common sense.
08:31Why are we throwing kids?
08:33Like, the teacher said, the kid was back in the classroom a day later.
08:37Why?
08:39Why?
08:41That kid should have been gone for a bare minimum a week.
08:44And the next time they do that, they're gone forever.
08:50Like, what are we doing?
08:52What are we doing?
08:53I've said this before, and I'm going to say it again.
08:55I think this is being done intentionally.
08:57The dumbing down of our society.
09:00And this is one of the ways.
09:03You know, putting teachers' hands behind their backs so they can't do anything.
09:09If a kid wants to destroy everything you paid for, can't do anything.
09:12And we're going to put that kid right back into your classroom a day later.
09:14Figure it out.
09:16Bye.
09:18Oh, they want to destroy your stuff again?
09:20Yeah.
09:21Pay for it again then.
09:23Back in your classroom two days later.
09:28That is just utter craziness to me.
09:30Crazy.
09:31But anyway, get in the comments.
09:32Let me know your thoughts and your opinions as always.
09:34Stay safe out there.
09:35Peace and love.
09:36I'm out.
