00:05So for all of the Barack Obama supporters, you know, the ones that said that Barack Obama
00:09did such a great job for black people when he was president twice, he essentially ruined

00:14So the Barack Obama library has been built.
00:17The budget for it was $850 million.
00:21Barack Obama and his foundation said, hey, we pledged $450 million.
00:25So they were going, they pledged that they would give $450 million to the $850 million
00:31project.
00:32They deposited to date $1 million.
00:36And not only that, the budget blew up and now it's over a billion dollar project.
00:42The building has been built.
00:44It's ugly as hell.
00:45I'm going to put a picture in because it's disgusting looking.
00:48And the thing that is the kicker is he's going to make you guys pay that deficit.
00:53So not only did he say he was going to give $450 million and only gave a million, they
00:58still blew the budget.
00:59So even if the Barack Obama foundation gave the $450 million that they promised to give,
01:04they still blew the budget.
01:06So they're still going to make the taxpayers on the South side pay for it.
01:10We're talking about the South side of Chicago.

01:39Now, of course, Fox is talking about it because it's newsworthy.
01:46But that is, uh, there's a lot of people who were involved in the building of this monstrosity
01:54that aren't even being paid.

01:59Barack Obama, uh, not only lied about, uh, giving $450 million, but he's also possibly taking
02:08out some businesses with them because of non-payment.

02:15I feel like a, um, an aluminum can that's been thrown in front of a steamroller.

02:34Just on our internals, the overall monies expended on this project have now reached nearly $4 million
02:43in the red, that's in totality over the last five years.
02:48That is a hole that no subcontractor, small business can survive.
02:54And unfortunately, my losses are on the smaller side compared to some of my peers.
03:01I think the goal at one point was to break even.
03:04Now it's just to survive.
03:10Financially, our reserves have been completely drained.
03:13We are barely getting by right now.
03:17Unfortunately, we're probably going to have to lay off union workers here, uh, in the short
03:23term so that we can regroup and lick our wounds and hopefully live to fight another day.
03:29That's where we're at.
03:30For me, I know for a fact, it's been an emotional rollercoaster coaster and I'm just, I'm cooked
03:38emotionally and I, um, I have to fight for my company and for my people.
03:43And that's what I'm doing today.
03:44Yeah.
03:45It has to absolutely be an emotional rollercoaster because you got to think not only is he having
03:52to provide for himself, his family and put food on the table, but he's trying to provide
03:58for everybody else's family as well.
04:00He's got to write everybody else's checks too.
04:03And, uh, this Obama library that, uh, you know, he had some, a part in as a subcontractor.
04:10He's not being paid for to the tune of almost $4 million in the red ain't been paid.
04:19Those are workers who, who put in hours that he, that he had to pay that's gas, right?
04:26And whatever else that he had to cover, he's in the hole, completely in the hole because
04:32of this monstrosity of a building.
04:36Goodness gracious.
04:37A building that, uh, went over budget, by the way, billion dollar building.
04:44I believe my peers just to internal conversations with them are deeper in the red.
04:51I think also my peers have a little bit more pressure on them to maybe keep things more
04:58in house.
04:59And I completely understand that.
05:01But as for me and my company, I'm at the end of my rope and I see no other choice

05:07to have to tell my story.
05:08And unfortunately, it's, this is not to embarrass anybody, but this is just to make sure that
05:14the truth gets told out here of what has happened here to the companies that poured their heart
05:20and soul into getting this job complete and operational.
05:24We were made to cut all the insulation off of the piping for the storm system and then forced
05:32to retest areas that did not need to be tested.
05:35And in turn, Adamson had to go back and redo work that caused a tremendous financial strain
05:41on the company to the tune of nearly $900,000.
05:45That hit alone is something very hard to recover from, especially on a job this size.
05:51We have had plenty of dialogue to try and recoup those costs.
05:57And we have been told that that is our problem and that from ownership, we should have followed
06:04the specifications written, but Adamson did follow them as per code and we did a good job doing it.
06:13Wasted labor on elevators not working, areas being closed down, it all starts to add up after a while.
06:21It's in my opinion that there's been mismanagement here that's been settled to the subcontractors
06:28and we've all had to absorb them and I just feel that that's not right.
06:32I am still not 100% sure why we have not been paid our extras or to use the parlance
06:39here, change order money.
06:41Adamson found problems that needed to be solved and we fixed them.
06:47We went through the proper channels.
06:49We got the price and proceed from the Lakeside Alliance and inexplicably, for some reason,
06:56we were told that ownership rejected a number of our change orders and really not given a reason for it.
07:03But those change orders are in effect right now at the center and keep, in some part, the restrooms operating
07:11as it should.
07:11So to me, there's really no reason why we should not have been paid, but we haven't.
07:16All I've ever wanted to do here is to do a good job and to make our company proud.
07:22And for that, I can at least say that I'm satisfied.

07:44if our black contractors are not getting their money.

07:58I've been in business since 1989.
08:01I've never seen this happen since I've been in business.
08:04Even when I worked with the Chicago Urban League,
08:06so many of our black contractors are complaining about they have not got their money.
08:11But the other side of it, a lot of the black community and the newspapers do not know that
08:16these people have not been paid.
08:18Some of the people have put their mortgages up.
08:20They're going to lose their bonding, their rate in their bonding company.
08:25They're going to lose their relationship with their supplier,
08:28as well as their banker may want to bring in their note.
08:32So they're afraid to talk about these things,
08:35but they tell me in privacy that these things are taking place with them.
08:40And they're scared to death about talking about it, some of them.
08:43Some of them will hang up the phone on you and just say,
08:45I don't want to talk about that and buy it.
08:47Yeah, we met with them on several terms,
08:49but that's when they told us they had to stop conversation about it
08:52because they all signed a nondisclosure.
08:55And we're that bridge over troubled water for them.
08:58Not only are they going to be at financial risk,
09:01they are going to not be able to work on other major projects
09:06that we try to place our contractors on.
09:09And some of our biggest contractors are being hurt and hampered by this matter.
09:13Some of our contractors are already in bankruptcy.
09:16That's what they're saying,
09:17that if it wasn't the fact that they worked on this Obama project,
09:20they would not be under this type of problem,
09:23filing bankruptcy for protection.
09:25So all we ask them to do is to pay them their money,
09:28work out the deal so that they can be happy of the place being opened up
09:33and they can see some relief.
09:34That's a bad signal to put out the fact that seven to eight
09:39to maybe ten of our contractors in our community
09:42are going to be eliminated from doing business
09:45because of the debt that they incurred on this particular project.
09:48And they're leaving those contractors, deserting them,
09:51telling them they're going to be whole,
09:52but they ain't seeing no signs of it.
09:54They keep meeting with them, keep kicking the can down the line.
09:58They should just tell them when they can get paid.
10:05Lakeside Alliance said large construction projects are often complex
10:10in that some financial matters continue after a building opens.
10:15So Obama not only built his monstrosity in the blackest area of the city,
10:23displacing some black individuals,
10:25displacing a park that black individuals use,
10:28but he's also not even making sure that the black subcontractors
10:33that worked on the project are being paid.
10:35And this is supposed to be the black messiah.
10:41And yet he's basically sending some black subcontractors out of business.
10:49Crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy.
10:52But, you know, what do you expect from these Democrats, man?

10:59but when it really comes down to the nitty-gritty,

12:15and make sure that these subcontractors
