Dozens of people have been injured and around 440 people were detained as high school protests spread across France.
Students are protesting over teacher shortages, overcrowded classrooms, deteriorating school facilities and demanding school schedules. Authorities say some demonstrations have involved clashes with police, fires and objects being thrown, while many other gatherings have remained peaceful.
France's Education Minister Édouard Geffray said 76 people had been injured since the protests began. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said around 440 people were detained during Tuesday's protests, most of them minors.
The demonstrations come as France prepares to unveil its 2027 budget and as public-sector workers stage broader protests over pay, working conditions and government spending plans.
