00:20The century-old Irani cafe established in 1904.
00:24And what inspectors found inside is raising serious questions about basic food hygiene.
00:30They found live flies on food.
00:32They found cats inside the premises.
00:35They found rat droppings, blood in the refrigerator, food stored directly on the floor,
00:42and no proper segregation between raw and ready-to-eat food.
00:46The Kiani is not the only establishment facing action, remember.
00:49Between September 23rd and 27th, as part of its wider festive season food safety drive,
00:56the Maharashtra FDA has seized over 50 tons of food stocks worth 1.19 crore.

01:40and this 122 years old restaurant's license was suspended by FDA due to a certain negligence
01:48they found during their inspection.
01:51They found that the cockroaches and mosquitoes were there in the kitchen.
01:57When the food has not been kept properly in the refrigerator, they saw blood with the food.
02:04They also saw that manhole was open in the kitchen, and the food was kept around that manhole
02:13due to which strict action was taken by the FDA on this 122 years old restaurant.

02:29And as you can see, they have placed a board outside the shop.
02:34That shop is closed for renovation, but the license of Kiani restaurant was suspended by FDA
02:42in the raid, which they have conducted on 27th of September, and they found certain negligences
02:49and the rules which were set by the FDA for the safety of the food for the precautionary measure
02:56that was not followed by this restaurant, and therefore this action was taken by the FDA.
