00:46The meeting that has been called to chalk out the strategy against CEC Gyanesh Kumar.
00:51Let me cut across to my colleague Moshmi Singh joining us on the broadcast.
00:55Moshmi, what more details are you picking up from what's happening inside the meeting?
01:00The meeting is set to start at about 11 a.m.
01:05And, you know, apart from Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mr. Kargay,
01:09we are seeing that DK Shif Kumar is also present.
01:13He was in the capital meeting the leaders of the Modi government
01:21in terms of Mr. Rajanath Singh and other work that he had come for.
01:25He's also attending the CWC meeting apart from all the in-charges who will be present.
01:31And this is going to be a very pointed attack on the Modi government connecting it to the entire Rao
01:38over the election commission
01:40and the autonomy of the election commission in terms of the conduct of the chief election commissioner.
01:45And Rahul Gandhi, you know, turning on the eve there by going yesterday to Bela estate
01:51where he's pointing out that several voters who have not been listed and their names have been cut out.
01:57So, clearly, you know, this is an amplification of the entire allegations that the Congress is hurling
02:05at the election commission.
02:09Continue talking to us, Moshmi, because the clarification that came from the election commission of India on Saturday
02:16and how the Congress is now planning to take this forward,
02:20because one thing that was reiterated very clearly that all the decisions had been unanimous,
02:24that, of course, being one.
02:26And with regards to this particular point and how the Congress plans to counter it.
02:34You know, there are very grave and serious allegations and in terms of dissents that have actually come out in
02:42that report
02:43and particularly the Congress doesn't seem to be convinced at all.
02:48The election commission has not denied the entire report in its press notes
02:52and thereby there is a lot of, you know, a lot of allegations and counter-allegations
02:59between the BJP and the Congress as it really turns very, very political.
03:04And with five assembly elections around the corner,
03:06Congress doesn't want to give away this opportunity of, you know,
03:11loading fresh ammunition against the Modi government, against the CDC.
03:16He's been on the radar of Rahul Gandhi for about over a year or two.
03:20And Rahul Gandhi, the Congress, Rahul Gandhi's stand is validated by this entire fresh revelations
03:29that have come out over the dissent of the election commissioners,
03:34over certain decision-making and form states and data that was being shared.
03:40So, I think that the Congress would like to put out a resolution in one voice.
03:46Then tomorrow is the India block pleasing and thereby after that you'll see perhaps a rally
03:52or a protest of sort that will unite the entire opposition spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi.
04:00And of course the other point, Moshmi, of how the BJP has been pointing out
04:04that this is a case of sour grapes.
04:06Whenever the Congress wins, they never question that.
04:10But whenever they lose is when they start pointing fingers towards the election commission of India.
04:14Rahul Gandhi again having said that as far as the DOSU elections were concerned,
04:18they were very close to winning.
04:20What happened in the end?
04:21This selective outreach, how does the Congress plan to deal with it?
04:25See, that argument will always be there that Congress is being selective
04:30when it wins the Kerala elections, when it wins Telangana,
04:34between his auntie and Dori.
04:36And on the other hand, the Congress says that these are small brownies or biscuits
04:41that are passed on to keep the validation and the credibility of the election commission
04:45while the big battles are won by the BJP despite the anti-incumbency.
04:50But larger than that, you know, there is a lot to be answered by the election commission.
04:56And with Rahul Gandhi, you know, making those allegations,
04:59it was easier for the BJP earlier, before these revelations happened,
05:03to brush away Rahul Gandhi's allegations as Naraa Thupa.
05:08But now, you know, with the CJP joining the bandwagon,
05:11the Gen Z protest and a suspicion, you know,
05:16trickling in the masses over whether the allegations are true or false,
05:20whether the election commission is fair or not,
05:22you know, the ball could be well in the Supreme Court.
05:26Whereas, you know, there could be a lot of answers,
05:28the petitions that the Supreme Court would have to deal with.
05:32The answer could also lie in the Parliament,
05:35where the impeachment notice, you know, motion is in process.
05:38And the answer could actually lie in the political results
05:42in the upcoming assembly election.

05:56For the moment, of course, the election commission's clarification
05:59that came in on Saturday, a point-by-point rebuttal.
06:01The first charge of the big split within the election commission of India
06:06over the SIR exercise,
06:08where the election commission of India has clearly answered
06:10that all SIR decisions were taken unanimously.
06:14The second charge, CEC was bypassed,
06:18I beg your pardon,
06:19the CEC bypassed two election commissioners
06:22to which the election commission of India has responded,
06:26saying that differences happened in talks.
06:29However, when it came to the final decisions,
06:32there was complete unanimity.
06:34These are part of deliberations that happen internally
06:38and nothing is to be made out of it.
06:41The third charge that has been pressed
06:43of how Form 6 was illegally altered,
06:46the ECI has countered, saying that Form 6 remains unchanged.
06:50SIR declaration has been added.
06:54The fourth charge of how Gen Z voter enrollment has been stalled,
06:59whereas the election commission of India has said
07:01the 2.73 crore 18 to 28-year-olds who were added
07:06as voters to that list.
07:09So there needs to be no suspicion there.
07:13The fifth charge of how ECINET access had been centralized
07:18to which the election commission of India has countered
07:20that saying that role-based access was there
07:23and expert review has been invited of ECINET.
07:27The sixth charge of how the letter to the cabinet secretary
07:31was written on policy and IT,
07:33where the election commission of India has countered
07:35that to say that the letter was on deputation
07:37of a particular officer, not on policy or IT at all.
07:42The seventh charge of how SIR leaving vulnerable out,
07:48where the election commission of India has said
07:50that BLOs are visiting homes, camps and help has been extended
07:55for all the poor and homeless,
07:57so much so that announcement was also made
07:59for an extension in the deadline,
08:02especially in Maharashtra and Delhi.
08:04The eighth charge of how the notice holders must appear
08:08before the EROs to which the ECI has countered saying
08:12that there is no personal appearance that is required.
08:15The hearings are all happening online.
08:17The ninth charge of how the deadlines are too short for claims
08:20to which the ECI has gone ahead
08:22to extend these deadlines in Delhi and Maharashtra.
