00:12Go ahead, Gestoso, what do you have for us at this hour?
00:17Alejandra, at this hour there are still repercussions of the very last day here at New York City
00:24in the United Nations General Assembly.
00:27The last day, it was about 20 participants that took place, and they discussed, most
00:33of them, 50% of them from Africa, they discussed a variety of issues among the area of our region,
00:43we're talking about Latin America and the Caribbean, were participating, the representatives
00:49of El Salvador, Costa Rica, Antigua, Amberguda, and also Grenada.
00:56Most of them, in general, were talking about the common denominator of this journey is that
01:05the Global South wants to have a louder voice at the moment of decisions worldwide.
01:13There are some many issues, for example, the small island countries in the Caribbean, they're
01:21discussing that they're really the ones who are paying the higher price for climate change,
01:27at this point climate crisis, but not necessarily they feel that they have the help and the commitment
01:33of the global south.
01:35We were talking, for example, in the case of particular, one of the first persons who speak, that was
01:43the representative of El Salvador. He was putting special emphasis on security, trying to export
01:51that model of ultra-secure maximum security jails, trying to export it to other countries, including Latin America,
02:01also talking about immigration, in the case, as you were mentioning, of Costa Rica. We're also very much concerned
02:08about human rights and what is being taken place with the climate change. There is a community sense that,
02:17for example, we had the opportunity to talk to the representative of Mali and Burkina Faso and both of
02:24their representatives was mentioning sovereignty. Sovereignty is a key issue and they express their concern,
02:32that is, the powerful countries of the world that they don't let them basically develop their sovereignty.
02:39Issues that were repeated here precisely, Mali was denouncing the blockade against
02:46Cuba. They were asking to be lifted immediately and also in the case of Burkina Faso also they were
02:53talking about the cases of Gaza and the Israelis repeatedly once again throughout this day that
03:01there is a genocide and there is a genocide that needs to be stopped immediately. We get back to you,
