Transcript
00:00And now we go to New York City with our correspondent in the US, Jorge Gestoso, who has all the
00:05latest details on the first day of debates at the United Nations General Assembly Hill.
00:10Hello, Gestoso.
00:11What news do you have for us at this hour?
00:19At this very time, I tell you that the afternoon session of the first day of the general debate
00:25is still going on, full force.
00:29The president of Uruguay, Yamandu Orsi, was already given his speech at the General Assembly.
00:36He put emphasis that Uruguay wants to push multilateralism.
00:43He denounced the conflicts around the world, especially he was mentioning the Middle East
00:49and Ukraine, and also put emphasis on Uruguay as a peace mediator, a peace country that has
00:58a very big reputation about participating in the mediation of conflicts.
01:04Expected in this afternoon session, President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, that we anticipate
01:13that he's going to denounce the decision of the US to decertify Colombia as a country that
01:21fights against the drug trafficking and the drug production.
01:26He said that there's no country that can decide that has a right to put their nose in other
01:32countries' business.
01:34And he always have already denounced the US as the biggest consumption of drugs.
01:40In the morning session, it was a historic morning because, as usual, the opening session was in
01:47the hands of Brazil.
01:49President Lula was opening the session and he was putting special emphasis in democracy,
01:56in sovereignty, in sovereignty, also denouncing what he believes that the structure of the UN needs
02:04to be revised, especially the Security Council.
02:08And on the other hand, he was putting very much emphasis in his fight against climate change
02:15and has to do with environment.
02:17After President Lula, President Donald Trump was his turn.
02:23He was very critical of the UN, was very critical of the decision of recognizing Palestine as
02:32a state, a recognition that was increased in the last 48 hours.
02:37Twelve countries were joining the list of other countries of the world that recognized the state
02:44of Palestine.
02:45Now we're talking about 152 countries in the world out of the 193 members of the UN.
02:52That means three-quarters of the planet is pushing for that.
02:58And definitely President Trump repeated the lethany that we have heard for many, many times
03:05of Prime Minister Netanyahu that to recognize and to try to help the government and the state
03:12of Palestine is a synonym of push for terrorism, something that has no foundation.
03:21So, so far, the case of Palestine, the case of peace, the case of materialism is, so far,
03:32the issues that are being taking place in this first session.
03:35And throughout the week, we are going to expect other countries of our region, Latin America,
03:41taking the stand here at the United Nations.
03:45We get back to you now.
03:46Class two, one, two, one, two, three, and three.
03:47ยก hasta que la encara quatie!

03:48I just feel like one and two, one, three installed on the U.S.
03:49That is really the same thing that goes on, essentially.
03:50The ottomacan questions that are perhaps a football game.
03:52But we have a fantastic night to go on for all of them.
03:54It's all about the 1st and 2st in to know that if you're are watching the
03:56state of the world and say there's a fun fact for it.
03:57So whenever the land, there's always going to be aavam there and there's only
04:01the last two months when we are going on for on thebahn opening and then floral.
04:03Adding one in thefi in China that you are a general strategy of
