00:19From Latin America and the Caribbean to Africa and Asia, the Global South spoke on the United
00:26Nations' final day of the general debate.
00:30Burkina Faso called for a more credible international system where the UN Charter and international
00:37law are respected by all states.
00:41The credibility of the UN will depend on its ability to ensure that the Charter, international
00:50law and the sovereign equality of states are fully respected with the same rigour without
00:54distinction.
00:55In this regard, the Confederation reiterates our appeal to lift all unilateral coercive
01:02actions that are against international law, including the embargo imposed against the Republic
01:06of Cuba.
01:07Antigua and Barbuda warned that tariffs and growing economic fragmentation are rising costs
01:14for small island states already facing major development challenges.
01:19trade disputes, tariffs, and economic fragmentation raises the costs of food, transport, and development.
