00:00as conditions slowly improve there and the problems start lifting to the north but still
00:06kind of a windy and gray morning and and chilly too bernie yeah we kind of got it all going

00:14uh today and and we still have evidence of this uh coastal storm that is now of course the
00:20nor'easter that is headed up your way uh in your neck of the woods but still has left residual
00:24impacts here there have been uh road closures schools have closed businesses are also opting
00:30several of them to remain closed today trying to maybe regain some normal normalcy tomorrow
00:36over my shoulder there you can see of course the giant neptune statue one of the hallmarks of the
00:42virginia beach boardwalk here and we've seen people of course out here taking their photos
00:47folks have been out enjoying or trying to enjoy a little bit of their friday but it's still quite
00:53windy here there is still uh overwash coming in off the ocean and of course the beaches are
00:58officially closed no one allowed to get in the water uh here in virginia beach but uh you know
01:04this kind of just tells the story of how lasting these impacts from these systems can be you don't
01:09have to have a direct hit you can have a system that is uh well offshore and can create massive
01:15tie-ups and problems like we saw here this week in virginia beach where that tidal washing got all
01:21the way into norfolk and surrounding areas uh really creating a nightmare for folks that were
01:27trying to get in and around uh you know the the standing water and a lot of folks talking to
01:33their
01:33insurance companies this week uh because their actual cars are not running from trying to get out
01:41of that flood water so uh you know we had that we have also had some uh significant beach erosion
01:47uh they have undergone a huge re-nourishment here uh upwards of about 23 million dollars just in the
01:54last couple of years and uh trying to uh you know mitigate what mother nature deals to these folks
01:59that live along the coast and uh hopefully they will get things back to normal as we head towards
