Sobre la madera se despliegan los rostros de la política, la televisión y la música popular en México: figuras que, desde sus respectivas trincheras —la investidura pública, el escenario pop o la estética empaquetada para televisión—, han asumido, rozado o simulado la pose de la rebeldía y la identidad del "rock". Al cubrir sus rostros con el ritual del corpse paint, la pintura no busca acusar, sino aplicar una capa de necroestética: traducir el espectáculo mediático y la pose prefabricada al lenguaje crudo del metal.
El rito furtivo en la catedral plantea una santificación en suspenso: ir a "bendecir" la impostura, llevar el meme a la nave virreinal y tensionar las fronteras entre lo sagrado, lo profano y la cultura de masas.

Introducing this series of oil paintings into the pews of Cuernavaca Cathedral is an act of twisted piety and ironic appropriation.
Displayed on the wood are the faces of Mexican politics, television, and popular music—figures who, from their respective trenches—public office, the pop stage, or the aesthetic packaged for television—have adopted, grazed, or feigned the pose of rebellion and the identity of "rock." By masking their faces with the ritual of "corpse paint," the painting seeks not to accuse, but to apply a layer of necro-aesthetics: translating the media spectacle and the prefabricated pose into the raw language of metal.
This furtive rite in the cathedral proposes a suspended sanctification: going to "bless" the imposture, bringing the meme into the colonial-era nave, and creating tension between the sacred, the profane, and mass culture.
