00:00My friends, today we take a look deep inside Russia onto, I would say, a marginalized group
00:05of people who honestly work their asses off in Russia, in European Union, in the United States,
00:11in the whole of the world. That is the farmers, agriculture, business, farming, owning land and
00:17trying to produce something off of it. I'd say that's one of the toughest things to do in any
00:22time span anywhere in the world. Even nowadays, in the modern times, farmers work the hardest.
00:28Knowing the diesel prices that have skyrocketed in Russia, knowing how Ukrainians have struck
00:34Russian grain export facilities in Novorossiysk, for example, seeing the statistics that Russian
00:40grain exports are down about 80% year on year, and seeing countless farmers make videos of their
00:47incredibly tough situation, I feel like we cannot ignore it anymore. Today, we look at Russian farmers,
00:53what is their situation, and let me tell you, it's not good, it's not rosy, quite the opposite.
00:58Some of them even predict famine. We begin with this Russian farmer girl who, or this Russian
01:06farmer woman, who gives us a quite true look into what's about to happen. This video was made in
01:12July, so let's see if her predictions went true or not, or the predictions are still actually going on,
01:18since it is still the harvest season, late harvest season in Russia. I really don't want to touch on
01:23this topic. It's already being blasted from every direction right now, but here we are, the cows,
01:29me, my husband, and our five-year-old daughter living in a village. So you get this true look,
01:35right? A farmer family living in a village in rural Russia. Doesn't get any tougher than that.
01:41We don't bother anyone. We do our work and live our good life. We work for people, providing them with
01:47food. We deliver these products to Voronezh and Moscow. Today, my husband stood in a line at a gas
01:52station for six hours, six hours, and still couldn't get fuel. By the way, this was the first fuel
01:59crisis. We're talking June to July. Then Russia imported an insane amount of diesel and gasoline
02:04for high prices, almost fixed it for about close to a month. And now, since mid-August to now,
02:11the fuel crisis is back. That's the first one. At first, everyone was waiting for the fuel trucks,
02:16then the fuel truck arrived, unloaded the gasoline, and left. Everyone got excited.
02:22Now we'll be able to refuel. Six hours, not a single car had been filled up.
02:26Technical issues. Nobody knows what that means. To install an LPG system in a car now costs over
02:32100,000 rubles. LPG system, that's the system that makes your car run on gas. Not gasoline,
02:39but actual gas. Just two weeks ago, it was 50,000 rubles. How are we supposed to keep working
02:44going forward? Every day I feel like I could just kiss my husband's feet because of what we managed
02:50to accomplish together. We prepared hay on time. From the first cutting, we worked our asses off
02:55all of June. So much that my husband developed two hernias. An umbilical hernia and a diaphragmatic
03:04one. And I went to the gynecologist for a checkup because I thought my uterus was going to fall out
03:10from the pain I was experiencing. I don't want to laugh on this. I have to apologize. I was not
03:16ready for this. But to illustrate how difficult this life is, and this could be Ukraine, this could
03:21be European Union, but this is Russia, a country that invaded another country. And now they have
03:27insanely high diesel prices. And farmers are the ones taking the brunt of the hit. And I think we
03:32would be blind if we would not see that story. This is a big portion of... Like this is the
03:37third
03:38biggest Russian export. It's agricultural products. So we have to talk about this. But we managed to do
03:44it. We stocked up enough hay for the whole season at June's prices. The price of hay alone has gone
03:52up by 30% in the last two weeks. And I'm talking only about hay. I can't even imagine what
03:57will happen
03:57to the grain prices. And grain is also part of the animal feed, by the way. Grain prices, that's her
04:02prediction. We now know, a month and a half later, that a very specific problem occurred
04:08with the grain prices. And we will get to it. But it's not what everybody thought. It is
04:12the grain prices did not explode. Quite the opposite. But the reasons also are not what
04:18everybody thought. There's too much grain in Russia, because they cannot export it, because
04:23Ukrainians have literally destroyed the infrastructure, the machinery that exports this
04:28grain onto the ships. It's a very specific problem. A lot of people on the reels are talking
04:33about grain right now, because they can't harvest the crops. They are saying that the prices
04:37of bread stores will go up. Guys, there won't be any dairy products if there's no food for
04:43the cows. There won't be any meat if there's no food for the cows, pigs, poultry and so on.
04:48Do you have any idea what will happen if we don't get a decent harvest this year? And this is
04:53the
04:53question I will end this video made in the middle of July by this honest farming woman in the rural
05:00Russia, who is just one family, one symptom of this entire big problem. And we go into the Russian
05:09agricultural issues now. I have a lineup of videos for you to watch. And of course, we go on in
05:16time
05:16also now we go to August, the end of August, which is in Russia, the harvest season is very wide
05:23since
05:23the different regions get different temperatures. But July, August, September, late even early October,
05:31some areas for some crops, one and a half months ahead now. And let's see what Russian farmers are
05:36saying about their fields. I just don't understand why everyone is staying quiet about this disaster.
05:42Media, where are you? Why is there no information about the disaster anywhere? Just look at how our
05:49crops is dying. How caterpillars are eating it from all sides. Just look at the sunflower.
05:55Hectars and hectares of crops are dying. Please repost and pass this information on.
05:59And for this sunflower to be here, there had to be a farm to buy the seed, to plant the
06:04seed. I'm not
06:05sure how much you have to take care of it or what you have to in the meantime. You wait
06:09months,
06:10you invested insane amount of money into this and it fails. You get nothing back. I mean,
06:15any of you are farmers, you know this cycle. You know how heartbreaking it is and how tough and
06:21tiring. Since Russian farmers and some farmers in the European Union also, they don't have savings.
06:27They don't have this piggy bank. The farms and the land are usually bought on loans from the bank or
06:34they're rented. If you get a bad season, you're out. That's how tough the farmer's life is.
06:39Regarding the prices for produce right now, for non-organic barley generally, it's about 6.5
06:46rubles right now. Straight from our farm, non-organic. Wheat is just not needed by anyone. This
06:53situation already tells us not needed by anyone. Nobody in Russia is buying wheat. Nobody. Because
06:58everything, every silo, every elevator, every ship, it's all full. Every train, it's filled up.
07:04They cannot export it. It's filled up because the infrastructure is broken because of Ukrainian
07:09attacks. So, Ukraine has pretty much stopped the third Russian greatest import of all time,
07:17which is agricultural products. And they go through these bottlenecks, which are the grain
07:21elevators in Novo-Razizka and tens of other ports that load them onto the ships. If you destroy these,
07:27they won't be fixed fast and there's no other way to export. The situation with wheat is quite
07:33difficult. So, they mentioned some prices there. Some at five rubles, some even cheaper. So, basically,
07:39there's absolutely no point in selling it at all. Five rubles for wheat in Russia, that means it's
07:45well below the break-even point. So, why harvest it at all? If you know these are the prices and
07:50you've
07:51got to buy tons, tens of tons of diesel with your farmstead, you've got to buy that diesel to harvest
07:56that wheat. You know the price of the diesel, you know the selling point of wheat. The math doesn't
08:01add up in any universe. You're going to lose about 40% of your money. Why harvest it at all?
08:07That's the
08:07situation. So, the crops is going to rot on the fields. I asked about how things are in general,
08:12what's going on, who is selling or who is not, and they say there's practically no movement
08:17in their accounts, meaning no one is really selling much. At the same time, loans are squeezing
08:22people and it's completely unclear what to do from now on in this situation. There's nothing to base
08:27salaries with either. I don't know what's next. Everyone is in a shock themselves now. And the
08:32final video, here we see actually one of the silos for close to Novorakysk. Well, folks, Novorakysk is
08:39still not accepting wheat and the wheat duty has been raised from the third time in a month from 326
08:45rubles
08:45to 721 and now to 1012 rubles. This time, almost a threefold increase in two weeks.
08:54August export fell to the lowest since 2010, just 1.8 million tons. And we're going to look
08:59at these statistics all across Russia. They are bleak. They're not looking great. And you know who's
09:04taking the blunt of that hit? You look at these statistics. I wanted to show you these videos of
09:09people. You see the faces. You see how they speak because we see numbers. I mean, I hate to quote
09:14Stalin on this, but the death of one person is a tragedy. Tragedy, the death of a million is
09:21statistics. You look at statistics, you don't feel anything. You look at the faces of people,
09:25you see them, then you see through the statistics. That's what I wanted to do before we go into the
09:31all of Russia export statistics and they're bad. For example, winter crops. There was a questionnaire
09:37about one of the companies who sold it and the answers, farmers answered it and results from a poll
09:43yesterday on a popular Russian grain industry channel says only 41% intent to plant winter
09:49grains, with even half of those planning to reduce planted areas. Upcoming crop will be cut by at least
09:5570% year on year. So 70% less winter crops compared to 2025. This is a paid advertisement for

11:42I have one more farmer to show you and this one is the darkest of them all. Even I feel
11:47I have to
11:48balance his view. It is unclear what the harvest will be like. By the way, video made for the harvest,
11:53so again, good to see how his predictions came through or not. I can tell you that the harvest
11:58won't be great. And this will be 2026 will be the start of the year of a famine. I'm completely
12:06serious.
12:07In 2027, you'll see for yourself, tough things will be with food. Just like it's already, as they say,
12:13gotten tough with diesel with gas. I mean, there might even be a harvest, but as they say, there will
12:20be
12:20nothing to fuel the equipment with and the harvesting won't get done. I mean, this could
12:24happen in a lot of regions. I'm completely serious. This isn't a joke. If you start looking at what's
12:30happening a little bit from the outside. So it says the year of the famine, there won't be famine in
12:35Russia with such a great agricultural country. Even with the lowest harvest, they still harvest and
12:40produce more than they would need inside their food exporter. And even if there is a lack of wheat or
12:45barley or whatever they need, they can import it and buy it like they did with diesel and gas.
12:50Which is already the stupidest thing ever to sell oil and then to buy back diesel. But they did it
12:55since they can. So they will do it with crops also if necessary. I don't think we'll go to that.
13:01But where it will go is tens of thousands of farms bankrupt. These farms run on loans. They cannot pay
13:09back the loans because this will be one of the worst years in their generation. They will be the
13:14worst year and then generation ever since 2010 and before. That's what 16 years. That's a whole
13:19generation. And a lot of the farms are one bad year away from bankruptcy. That's like that all
13:28across the world, I think, for farmers. So we see massive wave of bankruptcies in Russian farm
13:33industry. Now I want to read you a summary analysis. I think it's quite great. It's short and great in
13:40explaining what's actually going on and bringing the Ukrainians into it. Since this is not an inside
13:45Russia problem, it is their invasion, their war that is going horribly and Ukrainians whose attacks
13:51are so effective that Russian agriculture is actually dying. The grain collapse hitting Russia
13:56right now is surgical. Ukraine strikes have got at the southern export backbone right in the middle of
14:01peak harvest season. Major elevators in Novorakysk are down. These are the grain elevators loading
14:07grain to the ships. Novorakysk itself will stay offline for the next six to eight weeks, which is
14:13the peak harvest season and the prices do crazy, crazy circus in that times and they cannot be exported.
14:19That wipes out 26 million tons of annual throughput capacity, more than the entire Baltic ports and
14:26Tuapse combined. So Novorakysk was the port of Russian grain exports. If you take that out,
14:31guiding these grains to Baltic or Tuapse, it's not gonna make it even, not even close. The issue is in
14:38the next chapter we see why these grain prices have actually dropped in Russia. Although there is
14:43so much grain, the exporters have stopped buying. Warehouses are stuffed with barley, peas and the
14:50wheat that no one wants. Third class milling wheat and feed grain sit unsold. In the first 10 days of
14:57August, Russia shipped only 976,000 tons, down 22% from last year. Active loading ports have collapsed
15:05from 29 to 8. So Ukraine has struck enough of the ports to take down 60 to 70% of
15:13the actual ports
15:14exporting agricultural products. It's insane. This is an insane statistic. Moscow threw 10 billion
15:21rubles at rail subsidies. It barely covers 1 million tons redirected to the Baltic at $100 per ton.
15:29They need to move 20 to 30 million tons. Good luck, that's 1 thirtieth covered with the subsidies.
15:35The port damage was done on purpose. The deliberate disassembly of the logistics that let Russia
15:40monetize over half of its 90 million ton wheat crop. 47 million tons were supposed to leave
15:47the country and bring in 10 to 11 billion dollars. Yeah, that's dollars. That revenue is evaporating
15:56exactly when the ruble needs it most. So global wheat prices just hit two-year high and in Russia
16:03they're hitting lowest prices in two decades. What's going on? That is the point. There is so much wheat in
16:10Russia that cannot leave the country. So the prices in Russia are plummeting below, well below the
16:16breakeven point. And the wheat prices across the global markets are two-year highs. They just don't
16:23have any infrastructure to export it. And this shows you the effectiveness and the genius of Ukrainian
16:27long-range drone strike campaigns. They take out the infrastructure. Russian entire sector collapses.
16:34This doesn't only affect this year. It affects the winter crops and the next year's crops also.
16:39If the farms go bankrupt next year, these fields will sit empty perhaps. This is not just a one-year
16:46campaign. This will affect a generation of farmers in Russia. And the video goes with it. Well, the
16:51situation is, to put it mildly, critical. This is the end. Listen, what if it will be too late to
16:58open
16:59the ports in a couple of months? All exporters have now stopped receiving the contract because you're
17:06an exporter company. Your job is to buy wheat from Russian farmers and to export it to Greece or Egypt,
17:14wherever, Algeria. This is your job. You buy the wheat. You fill up the silos and the trains and
17:18everything. But you cannot load it onto the ship. So everything is full. You cannot buy any more.
17:23That's the bottleneck. It stops. You cannot literally physically put it on a ship. It is such a stupid
17:29and simple problem. There is no demand for grain. Warehouses, elevators, everything is overfilled.
17:35Well, what do I want to say? The situation is getting worse on the grain market. I don't know. In
17:40fact,
17:40are we thinking whether to sow here or not for the next year? Yeah, they're thinking if to sow the
17:46winter
17:46crops or if to sow at all. Because it is unrealistic to sow with such prices. So it might be
17:52cheaper for
17:53the farmers because they always have to make the math not to do anything. Not to sow anything. Because
17:58if you sow, you've got to pay up front for the seeds and for the diesel that it takes to
18:02sow. And that
18:03is insane amount of diesel and insane amount of seeds. And that's a lot of money up front. You've got
18:08to pay as a farmer until you get crops. And if the crop prices drop or if they cannot export
18:13it,
18:13you are screwed with your investments to the diesel and seeds. Being a farmer is toughest of the tough.
18:20So now let's go to the statistics. We looked at the tragedy. Now let's look at the statistics.
18:26Roughly 45 days into Ukraine's blockade of both Ozov and Black Seas, the collapse of Russia's grain
18:32market continues to accelerate. Russia's third largest industry is facing mass bankruptcies. And this is
18:38July beginning to August at the end. And you can see the prices of fodder wheat, feed wheat,
18:44fourth class, third class, everything going down the drain. And the break-even point, by the way,
18:50is somewhere up high here. It's not down here. So it has dropped by now about 30%
18:58below the break-even point. So if you sell it, you lose 30% of your money with the diesel
19:04and the seed
19:04that you invested. Whatever they do, if they sow, if they don't, if they harvest, if they don't, they are
19:09losing money. To be a Russian farmer right now is to just lose, lose, lose. The Russian cost to produce
19:14wheat in 2016 is 12 to 13.5 thousand rubles. But they sell in Rostov and Krasnodar 33 to 44
19:23%
19:23below the break-even point. If we're talking 44, that's almost half the price. You get half the money
19:28almost that you put into it. And if we look at the year-on-year chart, 2025 Ukrainians did not
19:35have
19:36this extremely aggressive long-range strike campaign against Russian ports. Russian grain exports fell
19:4188% year-on-year in the third 10-day period in August, compared to the previous 10-day period.
19:49Shipments were made through just 10 ports compared to 47 a year earlier. So 37 ports are offline.
19:58By choice or by Ukrainian strikes, they're offline. Only 10 ports exports and the biggest one is
20:05offline. And here we see a chart. It's a beautiful visual representation. 25 and 26. The left is 25,
20:11the right is 26. These are the exports, grain exports. August has been divided by three, three 10-day
20:19periods. First one minus 22%. Second one minus 79% and the third minus 88. This is a medium percentage.
20:27All August is minus 70%. And look at the end of August. This is what they exported last year. This
20:33is what
20:34they exported this year. Almost 10 times less. Russia is not swimming in money right now. I mean,
20:39they're declaring mobilization after the elections in September 20th, meaning that they cannot pay
20:44people enough for them to join voluntarily. So they have to force them to join the military, meaning
20:49they are not swimming in money. So the biggest, third biggest sector in Russia by exports is
20:55agriculture. We're talking tens of billions of dollars they bring in every year from that.
21:00It's taken out. This money taken out of the budget, taken out of the war effort by Ukraine long-range
21:06drone strike and pay. Very effective and beautiful to watch. Also, I brought to you the faces of these
21:13farmers. We have to see the suffering firsthand. We cannot only look at the statistics and I think
21:20it is necessary, although it pains me to see this. I will keep bringing you these niche topics in Russia,
21:25also that are not covered perhaps by mainstream military media about this war. I think it's
21:31necessary we cover them and we know what's going on with them since it's a whole one system.
21:37Agriculture is not separate from the war effort. It is in the war effort. That money from selling
21:41that grain goes directly into the war effort. So we have to cover it. I'll be back for you every
21:47Monday, Wednesday and Friday. So until my next video, be sure to subscribe, be sure to be back and bye
21:53-bye.
