00:07I hope you guys stayed cool and hydrated today because the heat was out in full force.
00:12So much so that the Trinidad and Tobago Met Service has placed Tobago and northeast Trinidad
00:18under a drought watch by the end of October, with a severe drought warning flagged for central Tobago.
00:25Crown Point's 12-month rainfall deficit is among the five driest stretches since 1969.
00:33The Caribbean Climate Outlook Forum has Tobago under a drought warning through the end of November.
00:39And a strength in El Nino is expected to keep rainfall below normal into the 2027 dry season.
00:46Reduced rainfall and increased hot spells could affect crops, livestock, soy moisture and water supplies,
00:53including lower dam, groundwater and stream levels.
00:58Authorities are urging water conservation, proper water storage and irrigation management,
01:03while communities should prepare for possible impacts on agriculture, water availability and public health.
01:11Water conservation has moved from suggestion to a priority.
01:16We've been also seeing warmer nights as well.
01:20Tonight will bring fair and slightly hazy with few isolated shawri spells, mainly during the early morning,
01:27with minimum temperatures reaching 25 degrees in Trinidad and 26 in Tobago.
01:32And from tonight into tomorrow, a mild to moderate concentration of Saharan dust will infiltrate the air.
01:39So prepare yourself for that if you are sensitive to these changes in air quality.
01:44And here's what else is happening tomorrow.
01:47Sunny, slightly hazy and breezy conditions becoming partly cloudy from late morning with few intervals of showers.
01:55Daytime temperatures will be cooler than yesterday, reaching up to 33 degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago.
02:02And then Thursday and Fridays, sunny skies will be interrupted by cloudy periods with showers,
02:08slightly hazy and at times breezy conditions.
02:10Let's go to our sun times now in Trinidad.
02:13Sunrise is at 555 and 551 in Tobago and sunset at 601 in Trinidad and 558 in Tobago.
02:21And for the beach goers, seas will be slight to moderate with waves 1 meter to 1.5 meters in
02:28open waters
02:28and below 1 meter in sheltered areas.
02:31So conditions should generally be manageable, but seas may be a little rougher in more exposed areas.
02:37It's now time for your Thai times.
02:48To some international news now, Hurricane Polo has rapidly intensified into a powerful Category 5 hurricane in the Eastern Pacific
02:57with maximum sustained winds of around 160 miles per hour.
03:02Polo is currently located just off the southwestern coast of Mexico and is expected to remain offshore.
03:09But its close proximity through the coastline is bringing concerns for life-threatening flooding and mudslides.
03:16Heavy rainfall, dangerous surf and rip currents are also expected along portions of the Mexican Pacific coast.
03:23Rapid intensification generally occurs when a tropical cyclone encounters a combination of very warm ocean water,
03:31abundant atmospheric moisture and relatively low wind shear, allowing its circulation to become much more organized.

03:43Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing on hot days because lighter colors reflect more sunlight and absorb less heat,
