00:00This from Dan Graziano in his column this morning on ESPN.com.
00:05The commanders have looked around for wide receiver help at the trade deadline,
00:10but I do not expect them to be in the market for Brandon Ayuk,
00:14who recently hired a new agent, Drew Rosenhaus,
00:16to help orchestrate his long-overdue exit from San Francisco.
00:20I'll insert here for those that haven't seen it this morning.
00:25Drew Rosenhaus and Brandon Ayuk applied for league reinstatement
00:29they plan on reporting, according to Adam Schefter,
00:32to the 49ers on Friday afternoon,
00:34and very likely the 49ers will then release Brandon Ayuk.
00:40I'll continue with what Graziano wrote.
00:42Washington was the team many had connected with Ayuk
00:46during last offseason's drama.
00:49He played with commanders quarterback Jaden Daniels at Arizona State years ago
00:53and referenced his desire to play for the commanders
00:56in several social media posts over the summer.
00:59But he said a lot of other things in those social media posts
01:02that turned teams off,
01:04and specifically some things about Daniels and his mother
01:08that make it unlikely a reunion ends up happening there.
01:14So there you go from Graziano.
01:18Remember, he suggested something,
01:20and I can't remember what specifically it was,
01:22but something about his mother calling all the shots,
01:26you know, for Jaden.
01:28Right, wasn't that it, Max?
01:30Something dealing with, you know,
01:32he's a mama's boy and the mom calls all the shots?
01:35Yeah, that was kind of the gen,
01:36that was more or less the beef that was going on.
01:39Right.
01:40Um, so, the question at 301-230-0980,
01:47301-230-0980,
01:49is yes or no on Brandon Ayuk.
01:52And I really would like to make it more specific to,
01:56do you think the team should at least explore it?
02:00Because I don't have an issue at all with the team exploring it,
02:04unless, unless, well, part of the exploration would be
02:09to talk to Jaden Daniels.
02:11If Jaden says no, then they're not going to do it.
02:15Uh, and Jaden may say no for a number of reasons
02:18that may have nothing to do with what, you know,
02:22the receiver Brandon Ayuk was doing on social media
02:25and what he said about his own team
02:27and what he said about Jaden
02:28and Jaden's relationship with his mother, etc.
02:30It may be that Jaden knows the guy's nuts
02:34and all along was saying,
02:36no, he's good and he'll always be a friend,
02:41but it's not who we want in this locker room.
02:45Look, look what he did to San Francisco.
02:47Look what he does when things don't go his way.
02:51Scorched earth.
02:55But exploring it, I don't have an issue with that.
02:59But, I mean, look, they're up against it.
03:04This is a group right now that is feeling the heat.
03:07The head coach is certainly feeling the heat.
03:10And they could use another playmaker or three
03:14on the offensive side of the ball.
03:16At this point, they could use an interior defensive lineman as well.
03:21But I don't have a problem with them exploring it,
03:23but I would bet big money
03:26that Brandon Iyuk does not get signed by Washington.
03:30No team is going to trade for this guy.
03:33No team.
03:34You're not taking on that contract, period.
03:37Zero interest in that
03:39and zero interest in giving up any compensation
03:42for the player.
03:43So, I don't think that that will happen.
03:47And remember, the compensation,
03:48the 49ers in turning him loose
03:50would be eligible for compensatory picks
03:54if he got signed by another team
03:56to a longer-term contract.
04:00301-230-0980.
04:02I say fine to exploring it.
04:05My prediction is
04:06very, very low probability
04:09that he ends up with Washington.
04:11And I would say low probability
04:13that he ends up with anybody this year.
04:16Drew Rosenhaus can sell it, though.
04:19There's no better agent to sell
04:22a product
04:24that's been recalled a few times.
04:29Let's start with
04:32Mark and Largo.
04:34Look, I had my guy on from Jacksonville
04:37in part to hear it from somebody down there
04:40about your guy, Brian Thomas Jr.
04:42What did you make of
04:43what he said about Brian Thomas Jr.
04:45if you were listening?
04:47Okay.
04:48Basically, he said
04:49that Brian Thomas Jr.
04:51is not a good sit-down in Jacksonville.
04:53Basically, what he said is that
04:55and that Brian Thomas Jr.
04:57is just an okay receiver.
05:00And just an okay receiver.
05:02I get that.
05:03I understand that.
05:04And that's fine.
05:04But what I don't understand with you is
05:07Brian Thomas Jr.
05:08had a good first season, too.
05:11And, you know,
05:12he hasn't gone back to...
05:14If we can get that guy
05:15from the first season,
05:17then maybe it'll be okay.
05:18Now, let's be honest.
05:21Trevor Lawrence hasn't been lighting it up
05:22for exception in the last year or two.
05:24And I do get it.
05:26And sometimes he likes to run more,
05:28kind of like Josh Allen.
05:30That's why Stephon Diggs
05:31didn't stand Josh Allen in Buffalo.
05:33Because Josh likes to run
05:34because he doesn't trust his arm
05:36because he feels like
05:36he's going to throw an interception.
05:39That's why he runs...
05:40But what I don't understand with you is...
05:42Huh?
05:43That's why Josh Allen runs?
05:44He doesn't trust his arm?
05:46I think he does.
05:48Okay.
05:48I think he's running like crazy now
05:50because I think he still has
05:52flashbacks to that playoff game
05:53he did in January.
05:55Yeah.
05:57And you can believe me if you don't,
05:58and that's fine.
05:59Look, you give up for Brian Thomas.
06:01I mean, I hate when you disqualify yourself
06:04early in a call,
06:05but Josh Allen probably has
06:07the strongest arm in the league.
06:10And yes, he makes some bad throws,
06:12but I don't think he's ever feared
06:14making a throw once.
06:16Not yet in his career.
06:18I don't think that's why he runs.
06:20No, no.
06:21I understand what I'm saying.
06:22It's not that I think he fears
06:23of making a throw.
06:24I think he has that playoff game
06:27in his head.
06:29And I think,
06:30think about this.
06:31The reason why he was crying.
06:32The Denver game that you're talking about,
06:34there were a couple,
06:35you know,
06:36Josh Allen inexplicable decisions.
06:38They also would have had
06:39no chance in that game without him
06:41because he did some amazing things
06:44in that game.
06:46But,
06:46but,
06:46okay,
06:47back on topic.
06:49Back on topic.
06:50Thank you for getting me back on topic.
06:51Appreciate that.
06:53No to Brandon Iyut.
06:55But what I don't understand with you
06:57is you still,
06:58as bad as Brandon Iyut acts,
07:02you still want to give him a chance.
07:04But when it comes to Brian Thomas Jr.
07:06No,
07:07no.
07:07Yeah.
07:08No,
07:08you're right.
07:10You're right.
07:10Part of me is like,
07:11I know how good this dude was.
07:12You're right.
07:14But that was one season,
07:16Kevin.
07:16No,
07:17it wasn't one season.
07:18He was good.
07:18And he was really coming on in 22.
07:20Also,
07:21he's a young player.
07:22Okay.
07:22You could say the same thing about 24
07:24with Brian Thomas Jr.
07:25Yeah,
07:26but you,
07:27you're,
07:27you didn't listen carefully enough
07:29to my conversation with Ryan O'Halloran
07:32because he explained the rookie season.
07:34Did you hear what he said?
07:37Um,
07:38no.
07:39I mean,
07:40that part I did not listen to.
07:41Yeah,
07:41you got,
07:41you got to pay attention to everything,
07:44not just the parts that you want to hear.
07:47So he said that was a total loss season.
07:50Trevor Lawrence got hurt.
07:53Mac Jones came in.
07:54They weren't playing anybody great.
07:56The season was over and he accumulated a lot of stats,
08:00essentially is what he said.
08:01But nobody looks at the numbers from that season
08:04and matches it up to a dynamic first round receiver
08:09other than people from outside the market.
08:11Because I made that mistake and said,
08:13my God,
08:14he's a first round pick.
08:15He had 87 catches for 1300 yards.
08:17He must be great.
08:19What's wrong with him?
08:20Well,
08:20let me say this.
08:21He downplayed the results of Brian Thomas' rookie year.
08:26Let me say this.
08:27I guarantee you there's a trade out there
08:29that I think Jacksonville will take in a heartbeat
08:32if Washington offers it up.
08:33And they will,
08:34I think they're tempted,
08:35especially after Sunday.
08:37Like saying you're still for Brian Thomas Jr.?
08:39Is that what you're proposing?
08:40No.
08:41No.
08:42Kalevon for Brian Thomas Jr. straight up.
08:45Ew.
08:47No,
08:47thank you.
08:48He's only here for one year.
08:49No,
08:49thank you.
08:50And they love Jones.
08:51No,
08:51thank you.
08:52They want him to play in this spot anyway.
08:54Okay.
08:55So,
08:55look,
08:56first of all,
08:57I mean,
08:57you also,
08:58did you hear what my guest said?
09:00I,
09:00I,
09:00I hate to keep referring to the interview that I just had this hour
09:04that you listened to that I actually scheduled in part because of you.
09:08He said,
09:09they're not taking any less than a third rounder.
09:12And he doesn't think they'll deal him.
09:14And he doesn't think that teams will be offering what Jacksonville would
09:18accept.
09:19So anyway,
09:21you think Watson can get them in the off season cabin?
09:24Well,
09:24he's under contract next year in Jacksonville.
09:27And if you were listening to the,
09:28the interview carefully,
09:31Parker Washington isn't under contract and Jacoby Myers isn't either.
09:35So they don't have a lot at receiver right now for next year under contract.
09:40there's a lot,
09:41you know,
09:41I,
09:42I would suggest taking notes during some of these things.
09:45And there,
09:46that way,
09:47when you get on the air for your show,
09:49for your segment on a daily basis,
09:52you're able to cover it accurately,
09:55but back to IUC,
09:57which you still have an answer.
09:59Get me back on track.
10:01What's the answer?
10:02No.
10:03Okay.
10:03No.
10:04All right.
10:05No.
10:06Mark and Largo.
10:07Everybody.
10:09Took 10 minutes to get to it.
10:11I'm glad he got me back on track.
10:13Uh,
10:14301-230-0980.
10:17Yes or no.
10:18On Brandon IUC,
10:19who very possibly will be available after getting released,
10:25after he reports to San Francisco Friday afternoon,
10:28Kevin Sheehan show,
10:29the team 980 and the team 980 duck.
