00:00Good morning, everybody. We are on a Tuesday leading up to a Jaden Daniels return.
00:06Let's hope it's the last return of the year, meaning that there's not another injury that we are then waiting
00:14on a return for.
00:15I didn't mean as in he's this is it. If he's going to get injured and then he's the season's
00:21going to be over.
00:21I think everybody got sick of the countdown. The Quinn pressers will let you know on Wednesday.
00:30Actually, we'll let you know on Friday. He let you know yesterday.
00:33The plan is for him to practice all week long and for him to start on Sunday, which was really,
00:42really good news.
00:44Because I think there may have been a chance that he could have started this previous Sunday in London.
00:51That will be a story that at some point I think we'll know the answer to.
00:56But I don't think we're going to know right now whether or not they seriously contemplated starting Jaden Sunday against
01:03the Colts.
01:04I do think that there was some hesitation because of the brace, more so than the elbow itself.
01:10I think the brace was the issue. This is a guess. I'm not reporting this. I haven't heard this.
01:17This just, to me, makes sort of sense. The way they talked about the brace, the way he talked about
01:23the brace.
01:24I think they want him to get used to the brace as if it's an appendage that he has that
01:30he's totally used to.
01:32It is part of his overall being.
01:35You know, it's the great ball handler where the ball is an extension of his hand.
01:41The brace is just part of his whole arm and elbow and he's totally used to it.
01:45I think more so than a doctor saying, no, he needs another week to heal.
01:50Because he practiced. He practiced on Friday.
01:56But that ship sailed. Would it have mattered?
01:59Of course it would have mattered had he played.
02:01It would have mattered had Marcus Mariota not gotten hurt.
02:05I think they would have won the game with Marcus Mariota at quarterback.
02:09And maybe they thought that was the case going in.
02:12Quinn yesterday, in his return from London, held a later than usual day after press conference.
02:21And he went through all of the injuries.
02:23It legitimately took up about six minutes, seven minutes of his 11-minute press conference.
02:29But the injury situation is Jaden practicing expected or the plan is to start him Sunday.
02:39Jalen Lane out for the year, fractured an ankle.
02:41We knew that.
02:42Cosme, Rashad White, Nick Cross all cleared to practice with a chance to play Sunday.
02:50That would be huge to get Cosme back.
02:52I think it would be big to get Nick Cross back as well.
02:55And then he mentioned Terry McLaurin.
02:58That seems very much a TBD with the hamstring.
03:02He discussed it as they were close to potentially keeping him up for Sunday.
03:10So I would imagine this Sunday he'll be ready to go.
03:14Charles Amenahue got injured.
03:16He injured his groin.
03:17You rarely come back from a groin the week after.
03:19But he called him a TBD.
03:21And then the one that I thought was interesting.
03:24The head coach discussed Marcus Mariota as a, we'll let you know more on Wednesday.
03:31Now, I don't think he was saying, we'll let you know if he's on injured reserve on Wednesday.
03:35Maybe that's what he was saying.
03:37But he was asked, I think, once or twice about signing a veteran or another quarterback.
03:43And he said that we need to wait on Marcus and basically suggested that Marcus could be a possibility to
03:55back up Jaden Daniels Sunday against the Giants.
03:57Now, I'm guessing not with a sprained MCL for the second time, but I don't think he ruled it out
04:02yesterday.
04:03And then there are players that are now eligible to come off injured reserve.
04:07Will they or won't they?
04:09He said Amos, Trey Amos, Dietrich Wise, and Jeremy McNichols all, you know, have their first availability to come off.
04:17But it's more of a TBD thing.
04:19I think Sunday against the Giants, which I dubbed as a Jay Gruden code red game yesterday.
04:25And I do believe that.
04:26I think that, you know, one in four, then likely one in five with a road trip to face the
04:3349ers.
04:33I mean, maybe, you know, everybody gets hurt in the 49ers game against Seattle.
04:38You know, they do play Seattle this week, and that will be a, you know, a physical game for them,
04:44no doubt.
04:44And we'll see how they come out of that.
04:46But they will have the extra day because the 49er game is a Monday night game.
04:53But I think that if you don't win this weekend, you're one in five going into the bye week.
04:58And the only conversation is about Dan Quinn's job, Adam Peter's job.
05:02I mean, that's the conversation with many of you right now.
05:05So lose two more.
05:09And that's the only conversation.
05:11It's not about playoff scenarios.
05:14No, it would not be about that.
05:18Yeah, Cosme is big for them to get back.
05:23They need Cosme, Paul as their guards with Coleman and Connerly Jr.
05:29And then likely Lucas Patrick at center.
05:32They need that offensive line solid, buttoned up.
05:36You know, I went back and watched a bunch of the All-22, not all of it, because it was
05:40kind of painful to watch.
05:41I actually didn't think the offensive line was terrible in the game as a pass-blocking unit.
05:49They didn't open up much in the run game.
05:52You know, Cosme definitely helps on that front.
05:58So his return's big.
06:01Terry coming back would be big.
06:02You know, I was thinking about this.
06:04Who's a bigger return right now for them?
06:07Terry, Cosme, those are the two biggies right now.
06:12I actually think Cosme's more important on Sunday against the Giants.
06:17I think they need an offensive line that, you know, at least resembles what they thought they would have minus
06:23Tunsil, of course.
06:25And with the new addition at center, because Lucas Patrick has actually done a decent job.
06:29They've got to run the football better.
06:31They've got to – I think part of it is the backs.
06:33I do.
06:34I think Eckler is a much better and more patient runner.
06:38But there wasn't a lot there.
06:39I did not think, though, I have to say, in watching a lot of the All-22, the offense in
06:46particular, I did not think the offensive line was that bad in pass-bro.
06:50Maybe I'm smoking something.
06:52But it didn't look terrible to me.
06:55It hasn't looked terrible all year.
06:57It looked shaky in the second half against Seattle.
07:02That was the injury update from Quinn yesterday, literally six to seven minutes of his 11-and-a-half-minute
07:09press availability.
