02:10It's been a very long time since I was able to bring you a video.
02:14I think the last one was back in June or July, which was the final episode of my barn owl
02:23saga, trying to find and photograph a barn owl.
02:27And since then, basically shortly after that last video, I fell ill and ended up needing an operation and that
02:36knocked me out for a few months.
02:37And then following that, we went back into lockdown and tear systems and you all know the story.
02:47So, yeah, and basically the long and the short of it was that pretty much all of my commissioned work
02:54was cancelled last year.
02:57And that being the case, I couldn't afford to keep my place in Oxford.
03:01So, I ended up packing my bags, put everything in the car and I drove down to Greece because at
03:09least here I can live a lot cheaper than back in the UK.
03:13And I've been here for a few weeks now.
03:17And I've been here for a few weeks now.
03:32Footage of the Dalmatian pelicans here for a production company back in the UK that's making a documentary on European
03:41wildlife.
03:41So, that's been fun.
03:43And I've got a few more days work with them in the coming few days now.
03:50But this morning I'm out and about on my own account and it's lovely to be out with my own
03:56cameras.
03:58It's about an hour before dawn now at the edge of the lake.
04:01So, I'm just waiting for the light to happen and hopefully get some flamingos and waders and ducks and we'll
04:07see what else.
04:09Maybe another pelican or two.
04:12Anyway, it's a little bit, it looks like it's a bit socked in on the horizon there.
04:15But we might get a gap in the clouds to give us some decent light. We'll see.
04:21But regardless of light conditions, I'm just so happy to be out.
04:26Anyway, so hopefully I'll catch up with you in a little bit with something interesting in frame and some beautiful
04:31light.
04:32So, I shall see you then.
04:54Okay, so it looks like the sun is about to come up.
04:57So, there's the thinnest of slivers of a gap on the horizon.
05:02So, I'm hoping that the sun will at least very briefly peek through and light up the clouds which are
05:10all overhead above me right now.
05:14So, there's a chance it might give me some nice light.
05:18But there's absolutely no birds in front of me whatsoever.
05:22There's a large flock, which I don't know if you might be able to pick up on this microphone, way
05:28over to the left on the other side of the bay.
05:31And I think the reason basically is we've had a lot of rain and thunderstorms the last few days here.
05:39And the water level has risen dramatically and in fact is rising as I've been here.
05:46I've had to come bring the hide back a few meters because just in that time the water moved in
05:54and I was sitting in water.
05:57So, yeah, I don't know if that's the reason or perhaps because I shuffled the hide back a little bit.
06:03If there was any birds, I couldn't see any at that time close by.
06:08I might have spooked them.
06:12But anyway, yeah, there's absolutely nothing in front of me.
06:16Still, I'll give it another couple of hours probably once the sun comes up and see if anything approaches.
06:23But it's an absolutely beautiful morning.
06:27The light is absolutely gorgeous.
06:31And, yeah, so I'm hopeful that something will come along.

07:54Okay, so in the event, the sun didn't actually make much of an appearance.
08:03But there was some nice light.
08:06And unfortunately, most of the birds have stayed very far away.
08:10Not helped by the fact that the fishermen have just arrived to recover their boat that has floated off.
08:15So, yeah, nevertheless, absolutely beautiful morning.
08:25Not much to speak of in the way of photos.
08:27I've managed to get some video.
08:30And hopefully you'll enjoy seeing that.
09:01But, yeah, I think I'm going to call it there.
09:02It's a very strict lockdown here in Greece.
09:05And we need permits and everything to move around.
09:09But hopefully where I'm going to try and get to, it's not going to be that bad in terms of
09:16getting there up in the mountain and around the lake.
